This farmhouse is charming, comfortable and relaxing. All the details are covered. It’s easy just to come in and make yourself at home! Walburg is a cute little town with 2 fabulous restaurants close to the house. I have stayed at this farmhouse before and I look forward to coming back again! Wonderful host!Thank you so much!!
The house exceeded our expectations. Loved learning the history of the house and couldn't believe how well it was furnished and all of the extra touches. You can walk to Dale's right across the street and it has down to earth, lick your plate food and the homemade German Apple cake is amazing. Our dog enjoyed the huge fenced yard. Definitely one of the best vrbo's we have stayed in and thought it was a great value.
A modernized country house. Plenty of space for the kids to play. Kitchen was fully stocked. This house had a little bit of both worlds: Old country house yet many modern upgrades/Out in the country but not far from anything you will need in town. We will definetly be staying here again on our next trip to the area.
We had a lovely stay at Sharon’s place for a few days while our roof was being replaced. The property was quiet, beautiful, and perfect for our dogs to run & play. We loved sitting out on the covered porch in the evenings. The king bed was very comfortable, and there were a lot of fun antique items we enjoyed looking at that sparked memories of visits to our grandparents’ farmhouses as kids. Sharon was a very responsive host with a couple questions I had during our stay. Would definitely recommend for a stay near Georgetown!
Our 2nd stay here. It is an excellent experience and a very convenient location for our events we have to come to this area for. Thank you to the host, we enjoyed the stay.
Very quiet, tranquil and lovely home, second visit and we Love it ! Come experience the peace and quiet of Walburg near Georgetown, see you again soon !
Very clean antique home. Cozy. Even near the street still had a peaceful calm. The two porches were lovely. Wish the weather had been better to enjoy the outside more. Will definitely stay again
I really enjoyed our stay at your place. The yard was unbelievable, and the dogs truly loved it, and we enjoyed the home very much! The owners were responsive and friendly! We would stay there again without any doubt! 5 stars plus
Loved staying here! Our family and pups enjoyed our stay. The home had everything and more for all of us to feel comfortable. Plenty of room for the kids and pups to run around and lots of outside seating for the cool mornings and evenings to relax in. Great getaway for family!
The Walburg House is a beautiful restored early 20th century farmhouse. Staying there is like stepping back in time, with added modern comfortable ammenities such as wi-fi, a kitchen microwave, and flat screen televisions in the living room and bedroom. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the owner responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely recommend the Walburg House when staying in the Georgetown area.
A very convenient location for the event we attended. A cozy and charming home.
Enjoyed looking at the book of the home transformation and sitting on the front porch listening to music playing at Dale’s Essenhaus. Very relaxing. We will definitely stay again the next time we will be in the area.
This host is interesting. Tons of pictures of her property but not one of therevised tub shower. Note there is only a photo of the bathroom sink. At my urging (I had to leave because of this issue after 17 hrs at the property) she said she is going to post a photo of this poorly planned shower situation which is quite risky. If you are bringing your dog, also be aware there are several large gaps in the fence! Boards have become bowed out and they are not nailed in at all. Your dog can go right thru and down the drive to the highway. Yes. Apparently the electric gate is inoperable. It was open when I arrived at 4pm and still open when I had to leave at 9:15am the next morning! This rental is very close to the highway which would be disastrous if you think its securely fenced. It is not. Do not eat at the only restaurant across the road. Loud and greasy food. This stay was for my birthday February 8. I did ask for a two night refund since I could not shower. That did not happen. She actually told me the morning I called re the shower to go outside to a separate tiny building 150 yards away to shower! But. To wait until she got back from her trip to Houston at 2pm because it had dirt and leaves in it and they needed to clean it first! My weekend was ruined with my friends in Georgetown! No one was going to stay there on Super Bowl weekend and she had already discounted it at the last minute. The bed was comfortable. And lots of crucifixes on the wall in dini

Your unsatisfactory stay is concerning. My goal is for complete satisfaction for our guests. At your recommendation, I have added pictures of the claw foot tub/shower combination. I can assure you photos were not purposely left out. In fact, many guests have loved using the tub. Before your stay, you asked if there was a walk-in shower. The property description doesn’t list a walk-in shower. I even advised you during our communications before your arrival that there wasn’t one - the shower was in the tub. I also told you that a step was available to assist getting in the tub as well as a grab bar on the wall next to it. I offered to send you a picture of the area. You replied, “no pic needed. I’m sure it’s fine.” The morning you called about your inability to get in the tub, I offered our personal bathroom with a walk-in shower in a standalone separate building 30 feet (not 150 yards) from the house reserved for our family during stays in our RV or bunkhouse so you could shower before my return that afternoon. I had not anticipated a guest using it so had not cleaned it prior to your arrival. I said I would clean it upon my return that afternoon. There is a full fence around the Walburg House and yard so the front gate being open doesn’t impact the yard being enclosed. After your review, we have found the bowed 1” x 2” boards that were loose and have repaired them. Although I didn’t refund two full nights, you received a generous refund considering you chose to leave because YOU were unable to get in the bathtub. As for the crosses or “crucifixes” on the wall, there is a picture of those in the listing and I will not be making any changes to that.
