About Janet Urian
I am a long-time real estate broker in Santa Fe (30+ years). I have a 501 (c) (3) animal rescue organization that I manage and pay for by myself. I personally tend to this unit and try to make sure of a wonderful stay and customer satisfaction. I have mostly great reviews on this and other sites.
Janet Urian purchased this Apartment in 1992
Why Janet Urian chose Downtown
This house is special because of the location off West San Francisco Street and the fact that it is an historic double adobe built in 1908.. Its convenience and privacy can't be beat. It is like a sanctuary. It is not visible from the main street, and neighbors face in other directions. The beauty and history of the building is impressive. It is completely remodeled, and I update it regularly.
What makes this Apartment unique
Many people enjoy this because they don't need a vehicle to go most places and it has the ambience of a traditional neighborhood. Some have not had vehicles. There is one tenant on the other side with whom you share the front and back porches and back yard. You can walk to the mall and its two grocery stores, and walk all over downtown. I have not had any crime experience in this neighborhood in over 25 years, but caution is always advisable.

Comfortable & Clean
Janet is a very responsive landlord & provides a clean nicely decorated studio. Logistics of watching TV & dining is hard. Walking to town is super for the 1/2 mile trip is easy. The kitchen is totally outfitted & ready for your dining.
Great & Enjoyable Stay!
Great location and a nice walk to the Plaza area. A great area 1 block away for morning coffee and 2 grocery stores. Janet was easy to work with and everything was as listed. I would stay there again and I highly recommend! Thank you Janet!
This Adobe Apartment was just the ticket.
Beautiful, cozy apartment in a historic neighborhood. Dog-friendly, everything was thought of to make our stay comfortable. I loved the quiet neighborhood and the spring flowers out front. Charming old school Santa Fe architecture. Close to the Plaza, but far enough away to avoid the crowds. We will definitely book again for our next trip to New Mexico.
Thank you for this! I hope you come back.
We'll located, equipped and cozy but not very clean.
The property was nice, cozy and well located. But, we found it not very clean. The bedding was cigarette smelling. We had to wash the blankets and the dryer didn't work. The kitchen was not very clean as well and the little patio on the back was stinky. But, the kitchen was well equipped and there were complementary snacks and water bottles. Thanks.
This is the most vicious and untrue review I have received in twenty-four years of renting the apartment.
1. Nobody has ever smoked there. I and other guests would notice, and you were the first guests to use that bed set, which I bought two days before your arrival.
2. The blankets were washed right before you arrived.
3. The large dryer works well. If it didn't, I would be in trouble, because there is very little time in between guests to dry the laundry.
4. The kitchen is always clean for new guests.
5. There is nothing to "stink" on the back patio. There is a table, chairs and umbrella, and little else.
I wonder why you did not respond to my phone calls asking if everything was okay. If there was a problem, I would have taken care of it immediately, as I always do.

Thanks for the five stars, but the text didn't show up! I know I saw it somewhere.
Location, Location, Location!
People say that the most important thing about real estate is "location, location, location." This Home Away destination is a beautiful example of the perfect location. The quaint adobe studio is a 5-minute, slow walk (if you turn left as you exit the driveway) from the DeVargas Mall. The mall has new restaurants, quaint shops, a post office, a Starbucks, a CVS, and a Sprouts for your every grocery shopping need. (My favorite was the very chill op.cit. books, which has an interesting collection of used books and CDs.) Now if you turn right, a straight, unhurried 12 min. walk gets you to and through the heart of the Plaza; a virtual cornucopia of restaurants, shops, historical sites, right onto the steps of St. Francis of Assi Church. Now back to the studio...it's ample room for two and a couch for a third person. (I believe it's a sofa bed, but we didn't need to use it.) The bed is comfortable, it's clean, the kitchen is fully equipped to cook, there's a washer and dryer, cable, wi-fi, and you can see the mountains from the outside of the studio. For a modest, simple, home, it has all you need - even parking. Neighbors are friendly, and the neighborhood is super quiet. Some snacks and a pound of coffee was left on the table for us, which was a thoughtful gesture. My wife and I spent Easter Week there, and we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return to this little adobe cottage on our next trip to Santa Fe.
Thank you! I really appreciate guests like you.
Note approximate distances above in meters and miles! The property is six and one-half blocks to the downtown Plaza and even closer to the DeVargas Mall, Sanbusco shopping area and many downtown restaurants, shops and theaters. It is about two blocks to St. Francis, which leads to 285 north and 599 to Albuquerque. The property and your vehicle parked there are not visible from the street.
