Idyllic Self Catering Retreat In The Lush Somerset Countryside (near Taunton)

We are nestled in a small hamlet called Daws Green which is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Trull.
Trull is 2.5 miles away from Taunton, the county town of Somerset. We are situated in beautiful countryside and farmland and can boast uninterrupted 360 degree panoramic views.
The Chalet Somerset was completed in 2013 and is constructed from Douglas Fir. It is a beautiful one bedroom hi spec fully equipped self catering apartment with separate lounge/kitchen and bathroom.

There is a picturesque floor to ceiling gable end window and also a raised decking area for you to enjoy al fresco dining or simply sit and admire the wonderful views.

Our chickens are also an integral part of our family and we would encourage you to wander down into the orchard and collect freshly laid eggs for your breakfast.

Lounge/Kitchen: Leather sofa, 32" HD remote control Freeview TV, Xbox 360, DVD Player, Butterfly table and chairs, velux windows, oven, 2 ring hob, under counter fridge.

Main Bedroom: King size bed, remote controlled 14" wall fitted TV, Digital Radio and alarm clock, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets for storage.

Bathroom: Door into bathroom, WC, shower, basin, heated towel radiator, shaving point and lit mirror behind basin.

Decking Area: Table and Chairs and use of BBQ in the orchard!

Parking: We also have free secure off road parking for one car (only access is via electric gates)

Im afraid we don't offer public wifi due to the poor signal strength but 3G does work here if you still want to stay connected to the outside world!

We are a non smoking property inside and outside and as much as we love animals we can't accept pets - Sorry!

Great little loft near Tauton

We needed a place to stay near Taunton at the last minute due to a family member being admitted to hospital while we were vacationing in the area. We don't like staying in towns, so this was the perfect option, and luckily it was available for a same-day checkin. Rachael was extremely helpful and remained flexible since we really didn't know how long we would be around. The loft was spotless and perfect for the two of us. Just 10 minutes into Taunton and the hospital, yet out in the country. The kitchenette is great for cooking simple meals or microwaving ready-meals. Having fresh eggs in the morning is just a bonus. We even had one that was just seconds out of a chicken--probably the freshest egg you can get! It is a loft, so there are a couple of places where you might bump your head if you're not careful, but it doesn't seem cramped at all, even with the absurd amount of luggage we had. For those of you that can't be disconnected from the reast of the world: Although there is no Wifi (and this is clear in the description!), the cellular connection is great in the area (4G/LTE), so if you have a smartphone you won't be disappointed. The only minor suggestion I would make is to improve the lighting around the stairs so that getting into the loft at night is a little easier (or, you can just use your smartphone's flashlight feature!). Not a big deal, and this isn't the right place for you if stairs are a problem anyway, since it is a loft, after all!

Fantastic place to stay

Lovely place, the property and area are lovely, there is 360 degree views from the loft apartment. everything you need is a short drive away. Rachel our host is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We would highly recommend staying here if you are wanting to stay in the area.

A nice getaway

Lovely location and local amenities, furniture very comfy and kitchen fully stocked. A little surprised at the close proximity to the main house and kids play area as we were expecting something a bit more private, but wasn’t a huge deal for us as the owners happened to be away on holiday. Overall we had a nice time in this clean and stylish cabin

Perfetta per due persone, c'è tutto quello che serve: dalla cucina, al tavolo, al divano per finire con un letto affacciato su una bellissima vetrata! Idyllic Self Catering Retreat In The Lush Somerset Countryside - sums it up 100%

Wonderful and peaceful location. Miles away from city noise but easy access to Taunton when you need it. Also Exmoor, South Coast, Bath are only a short drive away. Everything was as described and Rachel and Simon were warm and welcoming. We'd reccomend the Chalet to anyone looking for a few days quiet break.

A delightful Pied a terre, not in the city but just outside Taunton in a lovely rural setting.

We were in Taunton for business but don't like staying in town. Fortunately found this delightful loft apartment in the lovely Somerset countryside but very close by to Taunton. It was perfect for our needs. Clean throughout and comfortable bed. Our host were on hand but unobtrusive. The fresh eggs each morning were a real treat. We would happily recommend staying here for a quiet time away. We dined at the Worlds End which was a nice setting but mediocre food. We also tried the Blagdon Arms, I think it was called. Great ales here and pleasant food. I think we will be returning in the future. Many thanks to our hosts.

We are situated in beautiful countryside with 360 degree uninterrupted panoramic views. We have 18 hens, 1 cockerel and a Golden Doodle dog who are all an integral part of our family!

The Chalet has 360 panoramic uninterrupted views of the countryside and farmland. There is a Decking Area for Al Fresco Dining and a Floor to Ceiling Gable End window to indulge yourself in the scenery. We would encourage you to walk down to the orchard in the morning and collect freshly laid eggs from the chickens for your breakfast.
