About this property
Swedish Chateau in PT
A unique three story custom home just six miles from downtown Port Townsend. This home sits on five acres at the end of a private road. The grounds are landscaped with a large open field, two fire pits, one with a slow cooker grill for outdoor cooking. There is a wetlands on the property with ducks, heron and a variety of bird life. There is a large private bedroom on the first floor with a king size bed, mid-sized TV and half bath. With a hot tub just outside the back door. The second floor has a living room / dining area, kitchen, bedroom with a TV room with a very large TV and a full bath. There are two decks on the second floor. One overlooking the south yard with a small table and chairs, umbrella and a clean BBQ. The second deck overlooks the wetlands. From the second floor there is a large ladder (very easy to climb) to a large third floor loft. The loft has a library and an area perfect for kids indoor play. There is a queen size mattress for overflow guests or kids and room for one or two blow up mattresses. (As with most loft spaces the sound from the third floor can be heard on the floor below. So this is not for someone who needs privacy.) The kitchen has a Viking range, a Bosch dishwasher and is fully supplied with everything a cook would want or need. The refrigerator is a small, under the counter size, and there is a full size refrigerator/freezer in the first floor carport.
There are chickens and fresh eggs in the front yard and a nice, quiet road for long walks or an early morning stroll with coffee. The neighbors are very friendly and the street is very private. We are 12 minutes drive downtown Port Townsend where you can shop, go whale watching, enjoy a delicious meal, have some wine or walk around taking in the view. Fort Worden and Finnriver Cidery are just minutes away.

What a pleasure to be Jack's guest. A comfy and cozy place to rest, relax, and spend family time together. A super convenient location, close to all the wonderful places to visit and explore around Port Townsend. Thank you Jack!
The host is incredibly gracious, responsive and personable. The property is incredible. We stayed here for 18 days and did not want to leave. Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, private, everything you could want in a vacation property.
Out stay was just great. Jack was an amazing host. A wonderful house in a quiet, wooded area. It was just as described and perfect for our group of one parent, two kids and two grandparents. We hope to come stay again in the future!
Was the perfect way to relax and unwind from a trip in the mountains. The town is super fun, with lots of restaurants. Jack was such a kind host, providing fresh sourdough and coffee. Would stay again!

Come back and visit
As others have mentioned, this property might not be right for everyone. But if it’s right for you, WOW! Gorgeous home, beautiful grounds, private, quiet, luxurious appointments, generous amenities, and an exceptional host.
We loved our stay here. Jack was so welcoming and helpful during our stay. The home is spacious with comfortable future and a fully equipped kitchen. The gas fireplaces, bonfire, and hot tub kept us warm during the cold days. It’s located a short drive from Port Townsend if you want to go into town, but there’s enough to do in the home/property to keep you busy.
We had a very cozy stay. The host provided so many little extras. Everywhere you explore there's a cute little detail you didn't expect. Would definitely come back again.
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in Port Townsend and thoroughly enjoyed Jack (the host) and the cozy remote home in the woods. Very clean and very cozy. We will be staying here again.
Jack was an incredible host. Hospitality was bar none. This property had incredible craftsmanship. A nice peaceful place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Jack, our host, couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. It’s a uniquely designed home—beautifully decorated, well-appointed kitchen, and the beds were very comfortable. The surrounding area is peaceful, and the property is beautifully landscaped. We will definitely return!
My family just spent the weekend in this beautiful forest hideaway just outside of Port Townsend. We were in town for my sister's wedding and it was the ideal spot to get ready for, and relax after, all of the weekend activities. The house, the setting, and of course our host Jack, all made the weekend perfect. I will definitely look to stay here the next time I am in Port Townsend.
