About this property

Quiet, Cozy and Quaint Log Cabin Living!

Robins Roost is modern real log cabin living, quiet, cozy and quaint. A 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with beds for 6 people and plenty of space for a few more if sofa's or sleeping bags on the floor suits you. Close to the Royal Gorge (35 mins), fishing/white water rafting on the Arkansas River ( 15 mins), skiing at Monarch (1+hr), and public lands for exploring, hiking, and hunting where you can enjoy Colorado outdoor living and adventures at its finest. Starlink internet WiFi provided.

Robins Roost offers amazing views from the front porch. You can also sip coffee while sitting on the balcony outside the private loft bedroom or make s'mores sitting around the outdoor fire pit. There is also a full size pool table in the basement for you to enjoy. All bedding, towels and basic toiletries are provided. You'll find all the cookware (pots and pans) and table service you'll need for your stay. Need to do some laundry? A washer and dryer is also available for your use. If you want to enjoy the fire-pit outdoors, you are welcome to bring your own wood. If you didn’t bring, there is some wood in the manger shed to use.

Recently purchased, Robins Roost isn't new to VRBO but was listed by another name be the previous owners. That's why you won't see a lot of reviews but I'm confident you'll find the cabin accommodating, clean and well kept. I recently remodeled the kitchen, installed a new propane "wood-look-a-like" stove for ambiance and safety, as well as a new front sliding patio door.

I have recently installed two Ring security cameras on the property. One covers the front driveway and entrance and the second one covers the side door entrance. I have installed signs under each camera to notify all guests and visitors.

Our stay
The cabin was very nice and we had a very fun time on our trip. Only suggestion would be to add more lighting to bathrooms and rooms it can get a bit dark in there.

Great cabin!
The cabin was just as listed. They had everything we needed, and my kids loved the Christmas decor as we were there over the holiday. Would definitely stay again!

About the host

I lost Robin my best friend and marriage partner of 27 years to cancer in July 2019. This part of Colorado was our favorite place to visit and relax so I purchased this cabin as a permanent place to retreat and relax and for friends and family to come and "roost" for awhile.

Why they chose this property

If you're looking for a quiet place to get away, far enough away to escape and close enough to enjoy Colorado's adventures this is the place. A real log cabin with modern facilities that's not overly fancy or overly expensive but clean, cozy and welcoming.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is located 9.5 straight north of Cotopaxi. Take state road 12 (across the street from the Cotopaxi General Store) 4 miles on paved road. Turn left on Spruce Basis Rd just before the cattle guard (if you cross the cattle guard you've gone too far!) and travel 5.5 miles on county (gravel) road staying on Spruce Basin then Basin Dr. The county road is maintained. The driveway to Robin's Roost is short but may require a 4X4 to navigate uphill driveway during winter/snowy months.
