So relaxing

My husband and I had a great time. The house is secluded but close enough to Salida to get the essentials when needed. Zoe was very quick with responses to any questions we had. The home was clean and very cute. We would stay again!

Everything went great, a beautiful picturesque place, just keep in mind that the nearest Walmart is 45 minutes away :) And the access road is a bit long, unpaved, but you can't find a better place for privacy, the house has all the amenities and the internet works well.

Great getaway cabin!

Zoe provided all that was needed for a great stay! We used the cabin as a home base for activities in Salida and Cañon City. We had a great time and would love to stay again!

Cozy Cabin

We loved the cabin. It is up in the mountains and very relaxing. Hiking on the property was even better than expected with many large boulder formations. The cabin was very clean and probably the best stocked VRBO we have been to

Mountain Getaway

Amazing and gorgeous property north of Cotopaxi. The night sky pops without all the light pollution of a city. The property better than it is listed. And most importantly, my dog love the enclosed dog run. We will be back again.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

Lovely location in a forested area, a very well maintained cabin, and super quiet. Cabin has a wonderfully warm and welcoming feel. We didn't bring our dog, but she would have been very welcome there and would have loved the fenced dog area.

This place is a hidden gem. If you’re looking to get away and still enjoy having all the necessities, this is the place. Very nice cabin a few miles from Cotopaxi and the Arkansas river. Quiet and tranquil. Beautiful drive up to the cabin too. No complaints.

Quiet Getaway

The property was perfect for a quiet retreat for the two of us and our dogs. The cabin was well kept, clean and comfortable and Zoe was, friendly, responsive and made checking in and out a breeze. Easy drive to Salida for an excursion, but nice just relaxing and enjoying the quiet and walks on the property as well. Great wifi and updated furnishings made for a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend.

AMAZING IN EVERYWAY POSSIBLE!

The location is perfect, and quiet, secure fence for my fur babies where they had a lot of fun in the snow. The cabin itself is super gorgeous all wood interior made it feel so cozy with its large windows to see the outside, I AM ABSOLUTELY RENTING THIS CABIN AGAIN, Zoe our host is a very kind, understanding person who was always making sure we were alright.

Remotely Magical

This property is fantastic for those looking for peace, quiet, and minimal people around you. The home is clean and well kept. Our puppies loved being outside, we loved hiking around the property, and enjoying the fire in the wood stove. We ended up watching a movie at 1am when our daughter decided sleeping was over much too early. Despite being groggy, it was the perfect setting for an unplanned movie. :) Thank you for the excellent experience, we will definitely return.

Hidden Gem

My wife and I live in Colorado Springs but we like to head to the mountains for peace and quiet at least once each year in early Autumn. We bring our pups (one chocolate and one silver lab) with us on these trips so we’re always on the lookout for a place that’s dog friendly. This location is one of the most dog friendly location we’ve found so far. Some of the pet perks that stood out to us were the fenced dog run (best feature!), food/water bowls, pet gates, toys, and dog beds. You can really tell the owners are dog lovers. The stairs going from the top floor to the bottom floor are hard wood which was a bit of a problem for our senior pup (15 yr old) but it wasn't an issue for our rambunctious 6 yr old. We enjoyed going for walks in the woods around the cabin. Some of the terrain is steep but it's still fairly easy to hike. Lots of great views and rock outcrops to explore. One of our favorite things about the location is how quiet it was. We spent hours sitting on the deck relaxing and listening to the wind blowing through the trees. You can see millions of stars on a clear night. They have a telescope you can use if you want to get an even closer look. The downstairs area has a bunch of stuff to keep you busy. There's a smart TV, Blu-ray player, and a bunch of movies. The internet is excellent so you'll have no problem streaming movies as well. There’s a bunch of board games and puzzles if you’re looking for something to do as a family. Big thanks to Zoe for letting us rent her beautiful cabin. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back next Autumn if not sooner.

Me and my puppy had a blast! We chose this spot because I wanted my dog to be able to run around off leash and explore, and that's what we did every single day. I was working remotely and the wifi was perfect for that, and every morning, evening, and during my lunch break my puppy got to go romp in the woods. We ran into a moose! And found some bear poop. So I was a little nervous actually lol, thankfully my dog doesn't get too far away from me and has pretty good recall.

I came to Colorado over 20 years ago after spending most of my life in upstate NY. Colorado winters are quite mild in comparison!

We enjoy spending quality time together as a family from game nights, our kids' sports, to visiting with family and friends. We have 3 kids with two in high school, and one in middle school. In addition to having 3 children, we have two dogs (both rescues.) We have been fostering dogs for almost 6 years and have rescued 25 and counting!

The picture is from us rafting on the Arkansas River. It's so much fun!!

Why they chose this property

Things can get a bit hectic and we have wanted to have a little slice of Colorado in the mountains for a few years now. A place to relax and enjoy. We wanted to have a cabin in the mountains that is far enough away from the city to enjoy the stars without light pollution, to have mature trees to look at and walk amongst, and close enough for family activities. We found all that and more in Cotopaxi!

What makes this property unique

The peace and quiet and not feeling rushed to do anything while at the cabin. You really are on mountain time and we always feel like we get to "reset" whenever we're there.
