Up North Gem on Diamond lake in Bayfield County, Wisconsin
Lakeside cabin on pristine Diamond Lake in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest just outside of Cable, Wisconsin. This cabin in very close to the world famous American Birkebeiner cross country ski trail and scores of other mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling trails. We are located on 10 acres of forest land adjacent to the National Forest for easy access to hunting, hiking, snowshoeing, etc. Several other lakes, including Lake Namekagon and Lake Owen are nearby for your boating and fishing pleasure. The property has over 200 feet of lakefront shoreline and has a dock for swimming, fishing and boating and a boathouse that provides a beautiful place to watch sunsets while sipping beverages with friends and family. The dock area is a great place to swim, the lake bottom is sand and the depth increase is gradual as you head out into the lake, very safe for children and other bathers, but for added safety, please wear a floatation device while swimming in the lake, we have several hanging in the boathouse, feel free to borrow as needed.
Also, we welcome hunters and snowmobilers to stay at the cabin but please be aware we do not allow hunting or snowmobiling on our property. Hunters and snowmobilers should access nearby public lands and/or snowmobile trails via public roads and not across private land, this can be done easily as these lands/trails are close by. If you have trailers for sleds, please contact host for parking instructions. Also, we appreciate that all guests be respectful to our neighbors regarding noise and traffic when using snowmobiles on the neighborhood roads.
Lastly, the Diamond Lake Association is working closely with local town government to pass an ordinance banning the use of wake boats on Diamond lake due to the damage these boats impart to the lake. These boats can transport invasive species into Diamond lake from the large water reservoir they bring from other lakes plus they damage the existing lake structure and plant life from the turbulence they create. As a result, we do not allow guests to bring or use wake boats while staying at the cabin. Thank you!

We loved our stay at this cabin! Beautiful property and the cabin was exactly what we wanted. Cozy and clean, the views from the windows were amazing whether the day was hot and sunny or cold and rainy. Great kitchen if you feel like cooking, huge bathtub for a lazy soak, and the lake is very beautiful and great for fishing.

So glad you enjoyed! You all were wonderful guests, you are welcome back anytime!
Perfect cabin in a picturesque location. A top pick for us out of the many VRBO stays we have done. Perfect for a couple or small group. Short ride on the forest road and we were sledding.
The property was great. From the cleanliness of it, to the accommodations and boat house and dock, it was great. Ray communicated with us before and during our stay to ensure that everything was going well and made sure we were enjoying all of it. Would go back in an instant.

We wanted to stay at a cabin in northern Wisconsin and view the fall colors. We found this cabin and it was absolutely the perfect fit. The hosts went out of their way to make it the best stay with suggestions on destinations as well as other places to see and dine. We plan to return here in the future. Thanks Ray and Kathleen!!

Thanks, Lynn, you are always welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for being such great guests!
The property and cabin were beautiful. The hosts provided excellent communication the entire time we stayed. The location is perfect, Diamond Lake is quiet and peaceful with minimal boat traffic, but still within minutes of larger lakes with restaurants and bars if that's what you're looking for. We've stayed all over in the Northwoods, and this area is my new favorite. Highly recommend staying here to anyone, Ray does everything to make the experience great!

Went looking for a white Christmas and hit jackpot. Had no problems finding the property and communication with host was outstanding. The gas stove was a great to cook on and fireplace worked great at -11 outside. Enjoyed snowshoeing across the street on host property and snowshoeing on the NCT trailhead 15 minutes away. Perfect location for most outdoor activities any time of the year.
