Stone Lagoon Cabin

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

With Redwood National Park hiking trails close by and beautiful lagoons and beaches right across the road, the adventures are endless from this wonderful logger cabin! Warm up alongside the wood stoves in your cozy living room or formal bedroom, prepare quick snacks or full meals in your unique, full kitchen, eat or play board games at your dining table, or step outside to your front porch or grassy backyard. Fire up the grill for a few summertime treats or just sit by the creek and watch for visiting elk.

Enjoy a coveted location halfway between Orick and Trinidad. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to the charming small town of Orick in the beautiful Redwood Forest with quick access to hiking, fishing, and water sports. The hiking all around you is truly world-class - whether through the Redwood National Park, around the lagoons, the trail from Dry Lagoon to Stone Lagoon along the beaches then through the woods (about five miles round trip), Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Tall Trees, and much more. You can do some of these hikes by just walking out your door - especially the Dry Lagoon to Stone Lagoon one. And for water lovers, the lagoons offer great fishing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, and sailing. Some visitors enjoy putting in a kayak or canoe at Stone Lagoon and paddling across to the campsite, then hiking to the beach from there.

Very peaceful

Fun and interesting decor. Access road is rough, but easily doable. Beds were very cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is small, but has more than you'll need in the way of condiments and spices. Very nice cabin, especially when the weather is stormy.

Great location to the Redwoods, cozy vibes!

The home is the perfect cozy cabin to hunker down for some relaxation, or a perfect midway point to visit all the Redwood parks and ocean front towns. The wood stoves were easy to use and provided a great ambiance. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean and in working order. We loved our stay and I hope to come back again!

Private cabin in the woods

Very clean, great location, and seclusion. It didn't feel like a "rental" - all the added extra touches really made the cabin feel like a home. Highly recommend!

Cabin with personality

We stayed 3 nights in this charming home. There were a lot of special touch’s. There was lots of spices, oils, and condiments to make cooking easy. There was shampoo, conditioner, a hairdryer and a magnifying mirror in the bathroom.

Excellent Rental!

We loved EVERYTHING about this place. It was so unique and secluded. It was very clean and had all the basics and more. I packed way too much stuff. Having a washer and dryer was a big plus as well as the gas grill. It was close to the Redwoods National and State Parks. There was wildlife all around as well as many suggestions/pamphlets at the cabin to add more to your list of things to do and see. The owner was also available through text/phone call if you had any questions. She helped us so much with suggestions. If you want a unique and peaceful visit to the area, this is your place. Just don't go up the hill to get to the rental as goggle maps suggests(I almost had a heart attack thinking I had to go up there being we never drive in mountains haha). Stay straight and you'll run right into it!

Amazing Property in the Redwoods!

This cabin was absolutely beautiful! My kids and I enjoyed the beautiful views of the trees from every window and felt at peace in this wonderful cabin. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and Jill was extremely helpful in recommending what sites to see. We stayed for 3 days and will definitely be coming back to stay again!

Private Cabin, Thoughtful Management

We stayed for 5 days. We've stayed at cabins before. I bought a fire brick thinking I wouldn't have the tools to make kindling easily being that we flew in, and the owners had kindling, newspaper, and about an 1/8th cord of wood at the ready. Really a meaningful addition that saves time and money. The cabin has many accents that really add to the character of a cabin in the woods. One of the owners makes these himself. We slept comfortably, the cabin is located close to a ton of trails that put you in the heart of the redwoods. It really is a great private spot not on a property with a ton of other tenants like other cabins. We had a great time, owners obviously care about their guests. I would recommend to anyone who asked.

Great location for Redwoods and the Coast

Cozy cabin right in the heart of the Redwood parks. We explored the forest, the coast, Eureka and Crescent City from this location. Enjoyed some elk visitors on the property! All the necessary amenities, comfy beds, and thoughtful hosts.

Cozy cabin, must stay!

This cabin is rustic but has all the amenities (plus some) of home. It is isolated but close to everything. It was great to explore trails and the Red Woods. Then come "home" to a comfortable cabin with warm wood stoves, soft beds, a cup of coffee/tea or a glass of wine. The hosts are great people too!

Great Home Base for Redwoods!

This was the perfect home base to explore all the different parts of the Redwoods! We hiked trails in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Prairie Creek State Park, Sue-Meg State Park, and Redwoods National Park. Nothing felt too far a drive. We got to see elk both in the mornings and afternoons as we drove in and out. The cabin was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for our family of four to spread out.

Northwest vacation

We lucked upon Stone lagoon Cabin as it was central to where we wanted to be. It was just a wonderful cabin and property. As our luck would have it we met the owners who gave us a little history of it and the area. Knowing it was an old logging cabin, seeing the logging boots and appreciating all of the extra work they put into it, made it even more special. Both beds offered an incredible view and sleeping experience. Waking up in the larger bedroom to seeing 3 deer on the path behind house was unexpected. Of course we had hoped to see elk in the yard did not occur but as we walked to creek we did find what looked like a definite crossing path on both sides of the creek. At night we sat in the lawn chairs mesmerized by all of the stars we never see in San Diego. Stone Lagoon Cabin was one of the highlights of our 18 day trip.

A Tranquil Getaway in Nature's Embrace

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming rental cabin for a three-day weekend, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Tucked away on a private lot amidst the beauty of nature, the cabin provided a serene and tranquil escape. The attention to detail and unique design of the house showcased the owner's care and passion. We were impressed by the cleanliness and the availability of all the amenities we needed. Furthermore, its proximity to the park's main entrance made our adventures even more convenient. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat in a well-crafted, cozy cabin, this is the perfect choice.

Stone Lagoon

Wow. This place was amazing. We loved our stay here. Our family of 4 stayed here as our home base while visiting the Redwood National and State Parks. It is secluded and surrounded by nature. It has most everything you could need or want and the hosts were so very kind and welcoming. They also have a binder filled with excellent information for you to view upon arrival . The exterior of the home is a little more faded than the photos, but the inside is exactly as pictured. We enjoyed viewing the wildlife in the area. We saw banana slugs, Roosevelt Elk in a nearby meadow, and a small female black bear in the back yard! We definitely recommend this place when staying in the area!
