Not a place for young kids
This was our first time to Nantucket but not for the other family that was with us. The house is yes very good but the layout sucks. The good was the house has a really nice pool but we did have to call the pool man because the heat of it stopped working.
It listed as a kid friendly house but definitely was not Ages of the kids that we had were two one-year-olds and a three-year-old. On the first level is the kids room and the master bedroom then you have to walk up stairs on the second level which is where the kitchen living room area and one bedroom is. So basically everyone’s hanging out on the second level. The stairs are steep and open so basically we had to figure out how to create a gate so the kids couldn’t get through and fall downstairs. Also there’s a walkout deck on the second level where nails are not flat and it hurt to walk on. That is where also the grill is. Another disappointment was we were only allowed to grill one night before the propane tank was empty it says in the book you can go to stop and shop and pick up another one and pay yourself but when I’m spending “a lot of money” I expect there to be a back up one or it to be fully filled when I arrive. The trash situation there is also annoying. Expressed to the owner there there was trash in the outdoor trash bins that was left and you have to sort through recycling and regular trash so the trash people didn’t pick up our stuff in the trash then proceeded to over pile. The driveway and also around the property is seashells and not paved so definitely hurts to walk on. Also when we got there there was leftover food in the fridge Also when we got there there was leftover food in the fridge When I’m spending a high amount of money for a week I expect things to be a little bit better.
