About this property
Wich Hazel a rural retreat for two
A spacious, individual base just for you. Wich Hazel is set in a quite country lane a short distant from the village with its own garden. With so much to see and do. Explore, Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge are some of the historical musts. If outdoor adventures are for you, then walking, cycling, horse riding, and wild water swimming can be enjoyed in the New Forest National Park. Enjoy memorable days out with various National Trusts sites and gardens. Mottisfont’s beautiful gardens in June should not be missed by rose lovers. There are loads of great places to eat and with two craft breweries in the village, producing wonderful real ales, a week will not be long enough to sample them all.

Had the most wonderful stay our hosts were very welcoming and left lots of goodies for us .
The apartment was spacious enough for two and we loved taking meals in our own private garden which was well maintained .I would highly recommend this property.
A lovely stay at Wich Hazel in the beautiful village of Downton near the new forest. A short drive to Salisbury and well-appointed facilities. A beautiful part of the UK.
Excellent property with all requirements met. Quiet location but near to village. Ideal situated midway between Salisbury and Winchester with many villages in between.
It’s bigger than it appears on the pictures and has everything you need for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday. We’ve been three times and the northern New Forest is a lovely area, plus walking in Wiltshire very easy form there too. Highly recommended.

Lovely, clean and very well equipped property. Easy to reach all parts of the New Forest. Nice little touches - welcome basket and flowers. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful cottage, lots of welcoming goodies, including local beer, eggs, biscuits to name but a few, excellent restaurant at the Horse and Groom just ten minutes away. Perfect location for us to catch up with children, grand children and great grand children, and come back to a lovely cottage to recuperate from hectic but pleasant days with them.
Wonderful studio apartment with a pretty English garden and patio. Our hosts were extraordinarily helpful. If unfamiliar with British plumbing have them show you how the shower works.
My husband and I enjoyed our seven-night stay at Wich Hazel, Downton. The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was a very relaxing place to stay, decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great. We found great places to eat out in the evenings. Lots to do in the area, we visited some Historic Houses, New Forest and the coast. This area is beautiful and we recommend this as an ideal place for a couple to stay. Thank you Ann and Colin for your care and attention
The property is small but has everything you need & is tucked away to the side of the main building to give you plenty of privacy. Freshly cut flowers & delicious homemade cake welcomed us on arrival & lots of information was provided to help us get the most out of our visit. The huge bed is almost too comfortable! We had a lovely week away using Wich Hazel as our base to explore the New Forest. I would most definitely recommend. :)

Thank you for your lovely review Michelle, we are glad you enjoyed your week.
This property nestled in the village of Woodfalls was the perfect retreat from which to explore the New Forest area and even to venture as far afield as Salisbury and Winchester. Ann and Colin are the consummate hosts, and have provisioned the apartment with every comfort necessary for a relaxing stay. The welcome basket with delicious cake was a delight. They also went above and beyond and mailed onto us an item of jewelry that my wife had left behind. Thank you so much.
Ann and Colin were perfect hosts.
So warm and friendly and even left a welcome basket full of thoughtful treats.
Flat is so much better than the pictures portray. Spacious and equipped with everything you need for a stay in the area. Highly recommend. Very convenient for all the new forest walks.
The grounds are delightful and the garden is stunning.
Nice little area to sit and enjoy the sun. Although the flat is joined to the flat we felt we had privacy.
Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Dear Eileen,
Thank you for your lovely feedback. January and February were spent redecorated and updating the apartment. I am glad you liked it. We have been waiting for a bright sunny day to take some photographs to update the web page.
Please accept my apologies, the five stars I gave you for House rules, didn’t register. I don’t seem to be able to amend. We would be delighted to welcome you again to this area.
Regards
Ann
I'll start with the negative point, the photos don't do the apartment justice! This apartment was fabulous. It is compact but spacious, well equipped and everything works perfectly. The location is quiet, peaceful and beautiful, however, shops, towns and roads are all nearby so this was a perfect base for exploring the area. Also, lovely hosts, who left a selection of local delicacies in the flat, including some delicious locally brewed beer. Couldn't have enjoyed staying here more!
