Located opposite the Saint Jacques gate (breathtaking view of the medieval bridge and the tower), this charming house by the river will welcome you during your stay in Parthenay. Ideally located at the entrance to the medieval quarter, this former granting house is bright and spacious. It has terraces on two levels, directly overlooking the Thouet.
Close to the city center and shops, let yourself be carried away by its charm of another age and its soothing environment.
The interior has been completely renovated.
Ground floor:
- Large living room / very bright kitchen, 40 m2. Two sofas including a convertible, library, television (with chromecast), wifi access. The kitchen is fully equipped for your comfort.

- Private garage (one car)

Upstairs, the two bedrooms have breathtaking views of the fortifications and the banks of the Thouet.
- 1 bedroom with a 140X190 bed (220X240 duvet), private bathroom (shower and sink)
- 1 bedroom with two 90 X190 beds which can be coupled (2 single duvets and a 220X240 duvet are available), private bathroom (shower and sink)
- WC on the landing.

July-August, weekly rental only.

Generally good. Bedding very clean. Personally not completely happy with toilet facilities as there are only two toilets. One on first floor with no basin and one off kitchen with a basin. Stairs are steep which i personally found difficult. Could easily sleep eight people - three showers but only two toilets. There is a washing machine with detergent. There was noise from the local pub until early hours. Ideally situated to explore Parthenay. Garage is very useful. River views are lovely and there is a terrace to sit out. Marianne was very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful Gite in Fantastic Location

We had a wonderful stay in Marianne's gite, the house was well equipped with everything you need & there was plenty space for our family if 6 adults. The house is on 3 floors with a kitchen/dining/living area & a toilet on the ground floor, 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms & toilet off the hall on first floor and a double & twin with shower room in the attic. There is a balcony off the living area and a large terrace out the back, with a smaller terrace off this - it was great to shelter from wind/sun/rain and we managed to all fit round the table for games of cards & dominos. The view is beautiful and we saw the kingfisher flying down the river on 3 occasions. Parthenay is amazing with lots to see & do. We had a car and visited La Rochelle, Niort, Thouars, Bressuire, Poitiers all within easy reach. You can walk to a large supermarket in around 15/20 mins or 5 mins in the car - the large garage was a huge bonus. Overall I would highly recommend this house, we had a great time 😁

Accueil sympa dans un gîte magnifiquement situé, avec des équipements suffisants, (matériel de cuisine - literie - SdB - garage attenant spacieux - terrasse sympa ). Ancien octroi, la maison est vieille et mériterait quelques améliorations d'entretien : ventilation WC du RDC - ouvertures (portes et _fenêtres) en général. Détails qui constituent un certain désagrément. toutefois si cette notion de "confort" n'est pas un obstacle, c'est un gîte avec un excellent rapport qualité -prix.

Maison confortable et très bien agencé avec vue imprenable.

Maison très bien équipé, très bonne literie, conforme à la description . Deux petites terrasses bien agréables au bord de l’eau. L’ombragé est super pour boire un pot au bord du thouet, avec musique de l’autre côté le week-end. Le garage est très bien. Vu magnifique de la porte st jacques éclairé la nuit. Marianne est une hôtesse disponible et sympathique qui nous avait laissé des petites attention au frigidaire. Grand merci.
