The house was tops. Clean, cozy, lovingly decorated and well equipped. The location is perfect, a minute ’s walk to a couple of good restaurants and the shops including a great French bakery!

Steve & Jill - Location Burgundy
Beautifully restored & furnished, La Grange is the perfect base to enjoy Burgundy from. The restaurants of Meursault are literally round the corner, together with a brilliant bakery, and the cottage has all you need for a relaxing stay. Even in October the courtyard was great for an outdoors breakfast or pre-dinner glass of the local wine. Memorable, and Steve is the perfect host from start to finish

Overall the property is very well equipped, very beautiful, cozy, romantic and well located. Enjoyed our stay and would return. We knew there was no air conditioning but had unseasonably very hot days, so we needed to have all the windows opened. And since the owners were using big house (and not intrusive in any way) it did decrease the privacy. The property wasn’t quite clean and we had to clean toilettes, kitchen counters, and some utensils/kitchenware. The fridge, dishwasher and the washing machine were very clean.

Thanks for your comments we are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay. It is a bit unfortunate that the big house was occupied. We normally dont make La grange available on the few occasions the big house in use but the owner travelled at short notice after having not been here for 3.5 years.
Apologies for the fact that some elements were not clean on arrival. We are disappointed to hear that.
If you had flagged to us on your arrival we would have sorted it immediately. We pride ourselves on the standard of property that we provide to our guests.
If you do want to return please dont hesitate to get in touch.

La Grange is owned by Australian wine connoisseurs Anthony, and his wife Kay. They have a long held a passion for France, and in particular, Burgundy’s gourmet specialities and famous wine
Our property is managed by Steve and Jill Powell owners of Location Burgundy, specialists in the management of holiday home rentals in Puligny- Montrachet, Meursault, Cissey, Pommard and Beaune.
Steve and Jill have lived year round in Santenay since 2018 and took over the Location Burgundy business, which has been in existence since 2006, at the start of 2019.
Why they chose this property
La Grange was the barn attached to la Grande Maison. It was the place used by the previous owner, a vigneron, to clean out his barrels and store the equipment used in the making of his wine. The upper floor was just an old loft space. As we started to develop ideas for the main house, the rustic charm of La Grange captured our imagination and inspired us to create a separate, cosy cottage where friends and guests can be comfortably independent but still be part of the house party.
