Located in the highly coveted historic Brinkerhoff district step back into time relax and enjoy in our landmark home. Graced with a covered street side porch this pedestrian friendly home offers a welcoming invitation to travelers. Upon entering our home you will be greeted with 10’ ceilings, a myriad of warm luminous sunlight that fills every room. Our home has been thoughtfully renewed with great attention to details. While respecting the historic roots of the home new modern conveniences have been introduced.
Our gourmet kitchen features Viking and subzero appliances, solid surface quartz countertops, ice maker, and is fully equipped with quality pans, pots, bakeware, bowls, serving dishes, cooking utensils, flatware and many more surprises for the cooking enthusiast. A coffee & Tea station that is equipped with a bean grinder, French press, cold brew carafe system, conventional coffeemaker, tea infuser as well as gourmet whole bean coffee and loose teas.
Our home offers on-site secure parking, has 2 bathrooms (no bath tubs), 3 private sunlit bedrooms with queen beds quality lines, warm soft blankets, two types of pillows (soft and firmer), feather duvets with throw blankets to insure a comfy stay. We also offer a queen soft bed for the unexpected guest. There is a professional washer and dryer and we include premium laundry soap, fabric softeners, dryer sheets, ironing board and iron and lint remover roll. The interior furnishings and color palette were professional designed by Restoration Hardware with comfort and transitional design elements.
The exterior space has layered landscape with magnolia, olive, and Australian bottle trees, strawberry fig, avocado, persimmon fruit trees are shared with our neighbors and hydrangea, boxwood, roses, and more help to finish off the historic landscape.

Michael was such an incredible host. From the second we walked into the property, we felt like it was a home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home was beautiful and sparkling clean. Beds were comfy, as was the living room furniture. We went to celebrate my birthday, 3 couples. The house was convenient to everything- shops, restaurants, beach. The house itself was immaculate and plenty of space for 6 adults. The communication with our host was excellent, he made everything very easy. If we make it back to Santa Barbara we will definitely stay here again.

One of the best rental experiences I have ever had, and I have rented a lot of houses - half a dozen this year alone. Beautifully appointed home, great walkable location, super responsive owner. I’ve been to Santa Barbara several times and stayed in many VRBOs. This property was the best furnished of all! Four Seasons quality bedding, towels, and appliances. One block to State St makes it an easy walk to all the restaurants and attractions. We could not have been more pleased!

Implacable home. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to make our stay super enjoyable. I have never worked with a host like Michael. I texted him that our coffee machine had a glitch and he went and bought a new one for us. Despite the fact that we had other coffee options such as French press and pour over. Very sweet person. He informed me of the amazing history of the house. Loved the clean bathrooms and the new renovation designs of the house. We had a flower arrangement next to each bed. Kitchen had more tea options than I have at my own house. Very cute porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee. Close to everything you want to see.

Fabulous Location in Santa Barbara

I was in for a wedding with and couldn’t have found a better place to stay. Close to everything but on a quiet block this bungalow is beautifully appointed and clean. Michael was so accommodating and helpful. I couldn’t ask for more . It made my weekends for sure. Can’t wait to be back !!

Best property in Santa Barbara

There are so many “best” things about this home. Michael and Kelly are great hosts and very responsive. Loved the gas grill and side patio. The front porch is great for morning coffee and we spent a lot of time out there. House is completely renovated with a great kitchen. You won’t be disappointed on every aspect. Easily walk to many restaurants and shops.

What makes this property unique

Located in Santa Barbara’s Landmark District, just steps from State Street, The Funk Zone , West beach and Sterns Wharf sits this Folk Victorian Home. This home Recently renovated in 2019 is part of the Brinkerhoff District . The Brinkerhoff District is a quaint neighborhood representing a period of significance to Santa Barbara’s history. This neighbored has collection of well preserved homes built between 1886 and 1913 in styles including Queen Anne, Italianate, Stick, Craftsman, Folk Victorian, and Colonial Revival. The homes are reflective of neighborhoods of the late 19th and early 20th century.
This 1906 Folk Victorian was but for the Rees family as a personal residence and would later be home to a series of different businesses over the years including a tailor, seamstress, answering service, insurance agency, Architect and most recently the Durbin Learning just to name a few. We purchased the home in early 2017 with the goal in mind to refurbish the home and take it back to its former glory days.
