Built in 1865, The Dim Light is located in Downtown Paducah’s Historic District. Located within walking distance to Paducah’s best restaurants, bars, shops and convention center. The Dim Light offers the most luxurious accommodations in Paducah. Featuring one of Paducah’s only roof-top decks, it’s the perfect place to kick back and enjoy playing games with the family or watching movies on the outdoor rooftop theatre. Convenient to Garden of the God’s Recreation area, which is great for hiking!
The entertainers dream home. You and your guests will have access to the entire second floor of our private building. Kick back and enjoy watching your favorite movies and television shows on our back deck, where you’ll find our 16’ wide movie screen and projector. We also offer our guests use of the “in-house iPad” which allows you to control the music, lights and thermostat. The home is equipped with a Sonos sound system, so you can enjoy your favorite music throughout the space. We also feature a Philips Hue lighting system, which allows you to change the color of the lighting throughout the home to match your mood. Everything is at your fingertips with our central location. No other property in the Paducah area is able to come close to what we offer our guests.
Historic Downtown Paducah has tons to offer within walking distance from our beautiful newly renovated condo. The best restaurants, shops and bars are all within walking distance. Catch a show at The Carson Center (Four Rivers Center) or at Market House Theatre, both just one block away. Paducah Convention Center is a 10 minute walk along the river. Have a picnic and watch the boats pass by at Riverfront Park, which is just a few minutes walk from your door. Other close by attractions include The National Quilt Museum, The Paducah Walls, The Railroad Museum, The Farmers Market and The River Discovery Center.
Dozens and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Within an easy five minute walk you’ll find “Freight House”, led by chef/proprietor Sara Bradley, runner-up on season 16 of Bravo’s competitive cooking show Top Chef. She opened the doors to Freight House in 2015 under the ethos food is more than just eating. Your food has a story. Many stories. You’ll also find Doe’s Eat Place, Shandies, Craving the Curls Rolled Ice Cream (my favorite!), Kirchoffs Deli & Bakery, Cynthia’s, Grill 211, The Foxbriar Bar, Barrel & Bond and many more great spots to stumble upon.
Also located close to Paducah is Garden of the Gods Recreation Area along with lots of other outdoor hiking options. In addition, Kentucky Lake is will also within an easy drive for a day of fishing or swimming.
Downtown Paducah is great for many reasons, but one of its best features is it’s walkability. Everything is within an easy walk no matter your age! Street parking is very easy to come by as well as free public parking. Lyft Ride Share is also available!

Wonderful property in a great location for walking and exploring the city. The hosts were attentive and had everything we needed for our stay. Traveled with my wife and 2 younger kids. Would stay again next time I'm in the area. Note as they state in their listing you are pretty close to various bars and places to eat. We stayed on the weekend and there was street noise from the people if that bothers you but is the trade off for the great location and lovely property. The hosts do provide noise machines and ear buds to help with that.
We had a great stay at The Dim Light. It was in a great central location, with plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby. The accomodations were exactly as described. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a crockpot to use. We would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great stay!!
Dim Light was exactly as described. There were so many fun details that made our stay unique (candy jars and outdoor projector just to name a few). The location was perfect with lots of walkable restaurants. We'd definitely stay again!
This place rocks! Decorated beautifully and very well equipped. Within walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping. Easy walk to the riverfront and the National Quilt Museum. We will definitely recommend and this will always be our choice when staying in Paducah.
We could not have enjoyed our stay more. Everything was exactly asi it looked online. Stunning apartment and a short walk to everything downtown. Beautiful restaurants with horse drawn carriages roaming the picturesque riverfront streets outside.
This property is fabulous and fun. It is exceptionally well appointed and well cared for. We loved every minute- and bed and linens were exceptional as well. The hosts responded to questions almost instantly ! We are well traveled over many years and this is now one of our favorite places to have stayed.
This place was awesome . Exceeded all our expectations . So much better than staying in a hotel. Perfect location for everything after a long day at work and very relaxing after working all day . Thank you .
Really fun area and close to everything. You will enjoy the downtown and all of the friendly interesting people. The place is beautiful, trendy and fun. Be prepared for some outside noise and bustle but it's really part of the experience.

The place is awesome. I'm a novice on VRBA so I'll take some of the blame, but the communication after booking about check-in was limited. The app didn't even show I had an upcoming stay.
Anyway, this place is awesome!
High tech. Only drawback was the 23 steps up to the second floor. Security was great. Very clean, great beds, wonderful showers. Most of the lights could be controlled from an ipad, change colors, etc. It was fun! Thank you.
Everything was great! We had a fantastic time. There were a few things that need to be fixed:
main bedroom closet door knob kept falling off,
and the back door lock was broken. This was not a problem at all. Just needs attention. Thank you!
Our condo was lovely, but could have used a little more comfortable living room furniture.
Air conditioning struggled to keep condo cool, but it was extremely hot during our stay.
I would like to stress for someone who might be older, there are twenty-seven steps counting the ones outside. Carrying luggage and extras up thoses steps were difficult.
Especially when making several trips. Also, even though there was street side parking, we very seldom were able to park there. You could be walking a ways.
Most important!! We can not complain about the bar noise next door. It really was not loud. But, the traffic noise was horrible!! Impossible to sleep in front bedroom even with fans running to help drown out noise. Desperately need drapes that are insulated to block the street noise. 😫
But, it is beautiful in the downtown arts district and we still loved our trip.
We enjoyed staying at this condo. It had a cool vibe. It is also very close to bars and restaurants all within walking distance or literally next door. It was a very nice getaway.
First trip to Paducah. Wonderful option. It snowed unexpectedly day of wedding. Great place to hang out, so much better than any local hotel. Trust the photos, a-1 anywhere in world!
My husband and I stayed at The Dim Light in Paducah for a long weekend.
Decorated in a funky and cool decor. Had everything we needed during our stay. Centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and location sites. Check in was easy, no issues.
We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying here again.
Overall a great place with all the amenities you could need/want for a getaway in the Paducah area. Close to down town and walking distance to a number restaurants and shops near the water front. Excellent hosts, quick and responsive when needed. Highly recommended..
The condo was everything advertised and we loved everything about it. A good selection of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. within a block of the condo. Walking distance to National Quilt Museum, riverfront, and many other restaurants and shops.
