Really beautiful, lovely home right on Lagoon Pond on the OB side. This feels like staying in the home of an old friend, rather than a brand new vacation rental. The sunset views are amazing. The house rules do state no children under 5 and for good reason as the deck would not be a safe place to play for small children. The host and caretaker were both very communicative and accessible. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Great location!

Amazing location, luv'd kayaking and swimming in the lagoon! Best part of the day was having morning coffee on the deck overlooking the tranquil water. I would high if highly recommend! Thanks for letting us stay at your amazing place!

Lagoon Heights -- A perfect Vineyard vacation

Our daughter summarized this first time rental for us: "Dad, this is a 10 out of 10, we have to come back." And come back we will, because the house is beautifully situated on Lagoon Pond, a long stretch of private beach, and easy access to anything on the Vineyard. Although we spent most of our time there and on the water and private beach. And Ann is extremely attentive and responsive -- very much appreciated.

Wonderful, private holiday home

Fantastic location, right on the water. You have your own beach, nice deck with gorgeous views, and a lot of privacy. We rented kayaks and paddle boards for the week (Island Spirit Kayak deliver and pick up to/from your door) and we had so much fun in the lagoon. The water is relatively warm so the kids enjoyed swimming for a long time. The outside shower was a nice plus. The house is well stocked except only that you need to bring your own towels and bed linen. You are surrounded by trees so there are a number of bugs. We had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend this house to others.

Thanks, Tim. We do try to keep the place well supplied. As you pointed out, we are nestled in the woods so we have to share the space with our insect friends, but on the plus side we get to see a huge variety of birds flying to and fro, especially our favorites - the osprey family. Since you last visited we have installed A/C so you can always retreat indoors if the bugs or the heat become bothersome, but fortunately the breeze right off the water often takes care of both. Hope you come back again.

Perfect setting for family vacation

Once again we loved staying at Skid and Ann's Lagoon home. We had everything we needed. We created great meals in the kitchen, entertained friends on the deck, and slept like babies with the perfect breeze coming from the Lagoon at night. In the morning, the kids could get up and head out to the private beach, where I could watch them from deck with my coffee and my feet up. When it rained the kids could watch t.v. on the big flat screen while my husband and I planned our day. And man, that view! The layout was perfect for our family. Downstairs kids bedrooms, bathroom and ping pong table and slider to the outside (with out door shower) meant the kids could entertain themselves and be kids without tramping through the upstairs all the time. The upstairs slider to the deck meant we could eat meals outside and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. House is clean, well maintained and as advertised. I did need to call the caretaker once about something minor (I forgot to order linens for our vacation--my fault) and he was incredibly responsive and helpful. Nice owners and nice place!

Gorgeous views onto Lagoon Pond. Warm water and a sweet little private beach. A very comfortable home with everything you need. Owner was very responsive. We had a lovely visit.

Perfect Location

We had a relaxing vacation at this property. The house is comfortable and very well equipped. We enjoyed the water views from the deck and beautiful sunsets. The location is just perfect with a small private sandy beach on the lagoon. This was our first visit to Martha's Vineyard and we loved it!

Beautiful Waterfront Property

This home was perfect for our family of 4 COVID getaway. It was VERY private with access to a private beach on the lagoon just steps from the home. The view from the deck was perfect, that is where we spent most of our time. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the deck and/or any window as the three bedrooms we used all had waterfront views. The house does not have central AC, but the fans provided by the owner kept us cool, but it is still very humid. However, the breeze on the deck was delightful. If you are looking for a private getaway, I would definitely recommend this home.

Thanks, Evelyn. You'll be pleased to know that we have installed mini-splits in all 4 bedrooms and the upstairs living/dining/kitchen area. That should take care of the heat and humidity, but as you said, there's nothing like catching a cool breeze and a spectacular view from the deck. Hope you'll come back again soon.

Wonderful place to stay on Martha's Vineyard

This was our second year at this wonderful home on Lagoon Pond. Right on the water with its own small beach, this is a great spot for the family: the lagoon is perfect for kayaking, secluded and the water is very calm. Great view of the lagoon, the surrounding area and delightful sunsets to watch from the porch. Located away from the crowds, but with easy access to Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven by bike or car to the north, and to the beaches and quiet areas up island. The owner and caretaker were both readily accessible and very helpful. Highly recommended!

Warm, welcoming, beautiful view

Our whole family immediately felt at home and comfortable. We loved being just steps away from the beach out back. At night, we took in the stars and the water from the inviting deck. We definitely recommend and hope to come back!

Fantastic Martha's Vineyard Getaway

Our second year in a row staying in this beautiful home overlooking the lagoon. The place was as stunning and inspiring as we had hoped when we found it on this website. The grounds are well kept, the owners were welcoming and extremely helpful and Tom, the groundskeeper made sure the place was in great shape for our arrival. Our favorite activity was kayaking across the lagoon in the morning and we would recommend this property to anybody interested in a Vineyard getaway.

So glad you had a good stay and enjoyed the house and grounds. Sadly, due to insurance issues, we are no longer able to provide kayaks for the enjoyment of our guests, but some folks bring their own or rent them once they arrive on the island.

Very comfortable, great view, great location

We just returned from a very short one week stay in this lovely Oak Bluffs home. The house was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The pictures do not do it justice. The kitchen was very well equipped. We had no problems with anything. Kayaking on lagoon pond was a treat. The beach chairs and pool table were an added bonus. And we loved the outside shower with hot water. Never even took a shower inside. The little private beach was great. The birds were fun to watch. The crabs, clams, geese, swans, ducks - just can't even name them all. If you are a nature lover, this is a good choice for you. There was a heat wave with 2 days over 90 degrees, so the upstairs was warm during the day. The downstairs has an air conditioner. But it cooled off at night and we weren't inside much anyway. The beds were comfortable. Lots of pillows and blankets were provided. With our daughter living just a couple of blocks away, we only moved our car once during the entire stay. She did the driving, but we could walk over to her house in the morning. The owner and caretaker provided great customer service. We would recommend to a friend and rent again.
