Welcome to Snug Harbor, your perfect retreat in the heart of Dewey Beach! Crabbing, fishing, paddleboarding, strolling into town, or down to the ocean for a skim; we offer it all.

With two separate entrances and two screened porches our property is ideal for families seeking both togetherness and alone time. Enjoy the recently replenished private beach, complete with fresh sand and bulkhead.

Our cozy townhome, nestled in a small, gated condo complex, offers clean, comfortable accommodations with spectacular bay and beach views. Whether you're lounging on the private sandy beach or relaxing on one of our porches, you'll feel right at home.

We prioritize your satisfaction, ensuring everything is in order for your 4 P.M. check-in. If anything falls short of your expectations, let us know immediately so we can make it right.

Please note that guests provide their own linens (sheets, towels etc.), but rental options are available through Coastal Beach Services at 302.260-7021. Additionally, two parking passes are left for you to use during your stay (May 15-September 15). Remember to leave both parking passes upon your departure, or you will need to replace them.

Before booking, please share your vacation expectations with us to ensure a perfect fit. Please note we do have a no party group policy so there aren't any misunderstandings. Once confirmed, you'll have access to all the comforts of home in close proximity to both the bay and ocean. Please note that the maximum occupancy is 7 people comfortably, pets are not permitted because of severe allergies; party groups (Senior Week etc.) and primary renters under 30 years of age are not allowed by the Condominium Association.

Plan to explore Dewey Beach on foot, bike, boat, or trolley, and don't miss the charming shops, restaurants, and nightlife. If you're looking for a beach break, there's a children's playground one block north, and miniature golf range up the street on Rt. 1. For a memorable day trip, hop on the Jolley Trolley to Rehoboth Beach boardwalk or explore the nearby outlet shopping.

Please respect our private pier and beach regulations, and plan to enjoy our townhome year-round, with plenty of special events and activities to experience in every season. We welcome one kayak, canoe, or paddleboard per rental, stored on the south side of the beach at your own risk. No motorized watercraft please.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave the two (2) parking permits on the breakfast bar; they are essential ($350.00 to replace)
Dishes/Pots & Pans clean and stored, HVAC remotes (4) and fan remotes (2) left where they were found
Furniture and bedding left as found
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Message the owner before booking to be sure of a good fit. Must be 30 years old to rent, no unaccompanied minors. No party groups.
No party group rentals: you will be evicted. Quiet time: 11 pm-8 am. No open flames in complex. No bonfires. Protect appliances/no sand. ;
Remotes are used to work HVAC/ ceiling fans and tv. Parking permits (2) must be returned when you leave to avoid a $250.00 fee per permit.

Location is excellent. Only 2 block walk to the ocean, and a small private bay access right on the property with sand buckets and shovels provided. Since there was 4 adults and 2 kids in our party it was alittle tight so we really enjoyed screened outdoor sitting areas. A short walk to resturants and morning coffee, but far enough away from the loud music restaurants.We had 2 cars and we were able to park both free. Host is quick to respond and more than helpful.

It was the most relaxing vacation. Having your own private beach is great for watching the sunsets. Having an entrance on both floors can’t tell you how much that came in handy. Definitely will book again

I love this property!

I love this condo! The owner is fantastic and super responsive in the rare event that there is an issue. The location is unbeatable - on the bay with a short walk to the ocean. There is convenient parking on a quiet street. The view from the condo and the private beach cannot be beat. We will definitely stay again :)

Though I live in St. Croix, I was born in Delaware and always came to the beach with my family during the summer. We enjoyed jumping through the ocean waves, having picnics under an umbrella and going to the boardwalk at night. We kept our boat in Dewey Beach at Pier Point Marina. In those days, Snug Harbor was a bay front apartment that my mother always admired. One day as we cruised by on the boat, she called out to the owner, “Please call us if you are ever interested in selling!” It wasn’t long before she got that call and our family purchased a dream come true. When Snug Harbor Apartments was replaced by a small condominium complex, I couldn’t wait to buy my own unit (pictured in this listing)!
In the early 70s, a job transfer took my own young family on an adventure. We moved to the US Virgin islands and raised our family of five there. Despite the move, we continued the tradition of summering in Dewey so that we could spend time with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins and continue to build on those special memories. As a teacher, I could spend significant time off-island come June and I started renting my place to help finance our vacation. Now, my children bring their families to Dewey to gather with extended family and friends to have fun. We like to walk, bike, skim, surf, paddle, kayak, crab and enjoy breathtaking sunsets from our own porches and private beach.

Why they chose this property

Our townhome at Snug Harbor has placed us in a prime location on the bay, with private sandy beach and 6-foot privacy wall that keeps us separated from the hustle and bustle of street traffic. Since this is a small complex that caters to families, it has always suited our needs and high expectations. Recent updates include new outside decking, exterior lighting and a new bulkhead on our beautiful private beach. The sunsets over the water are spectacular! We can walk to everything once the cars (2) are parked in their private spot. New restaurants open every season, and we are never disappointed! CONDO ASSOCIATION DOES NOT PERMIT GROUP RENTALS OR SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS SENIOR WEEK ETC., so you are welcome to sink in and relax without the worry of being kept up at night by noisy neighbors.

What makes this property unique

Snug Harbor #5 is attractive and well-maintained, recently updated with new outdoor furniture and rugs on both screened porches. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The porches (one on each of our 2 levels, 2nd and 3rd floors, each offering entry to the unit) are used all the time for eating, card playing and chatting. Once you arrive, there's really no need to get back into your car. Walking, biking, boating, crabbing or taking the trolley to the boardwalk in Rehoboth seem to be the norm. Those with small children can walk one short block north and find a children's playground complete with picnic table and shaded seating area! The ocean beach is a quick walk away. Many great features and perks at an attractive price! We recently installed a deep kitchen sink, and la a large sliding door in the master bedroom!

HVAC units were also recently installed. 4 remotes (1 for each room) will be on the small round table inside the front door, or in the rooms themselves. ALL REMOTES need to be set in the same MODE. There is an on/off button on the face of the remote. The sun icon indicates HEAT: the snowflake icon indicates COOL. Up and down arrows will adjust temperature. Slide down the remote's cover to adjust FAN speed, low to high will be visible as the fan goes faster. In spring and fall seasons, the temperature set should hover around 65 degrees. During the summer, 72-74 degrees will be comfortable.

When ac is not needed, we like to open the windows and enjoy the bay and ocean breezes, and the buzz of outside activities. Just open the windows with care, they may be locked, and will need to be unlatched before sliding them open. Please don't tug since that might cause a stress fracture! There are ceiling fans with lights in the upstairs bedrooms. The ceiling fans are operated using remotes that are mounted on the wall. Please avoid reaching up to touch the fans,
