This beach rental is located at the end of McKinley Street right on the beach. Unit #1 is located at the end of the condominium providing a private, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. With 3 decks and an outside shower, there is never a reason to be indoors. Located in the heart of Dewey Beach, Surfside Plaza is steps from the restaurants, bars, and shopping of Dewey Beach. The Jolly Trolly stop is just up the block and a 7 minute ride from the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.

It was a great place to stay, the nicest we have been to in our many stays at Dewey Beach. The house was clean and well-appointed. Even the cookware was of good quality. The unit was ideal: an end unit with a clear view of the beach (sunrise) and up the beach in both directions. We would gladly stay there again. The host was very friendly and responsive. All good in every way.

Beautiful location

We brought the older generations, 77+ to the beach. The views from the balconies are terrific. The outdoor shower is really in an outdoor ‘closet’. Nice shower. Beach chairs are there, and beds are comfortable. Would definitely come again. 🌊⛱️.

Wonderful beachside condo

This is a charming oceanside condo with great beach views. Some more recent updates like wood floors help keep the place looking fresh. Great furniture, beds, kitchen appliances. The beach in Dewey is both centrally located for restaurants and takeout as well as right on a beautiful beach that is particularly nice in the offseason (fewer people). The owner was responsive, kind, and communicative. This is a great find.

Perfect Location

The views from the second floor balcony make this property worth it. Communication with Kerry was fantastic, she was helpful and flexible. The place was nice, a bit dated and the door out to the balcony upstairs is hard to open. Overall though, you are steps from the beach with gorgeous views. It is hard to be critical of being able to watch dolphins while you have your morning coffee!

I have never written a review. It was outstandingly close to the ocean surf and the view off the decks was unaparalled. When we first arrived, the owner gave us a combination to open the lock box that was incorrect. Only slightly off was the combo, yes- but it was annoying trying to determine whether the box was corroded or we were doing something wrong. Upon entry into the house we were greeted by a roof leaking in multiple places. This was as the result in part of a rather freak coastal storm and in that respect completely understandable. However, the owners remedy/advice was to “put some pots out.” Twenty years ago had I been renting with college roommates I wouldn’t have given this a second thought. But with two smaller children it was, again, a distraction from the experience. The back door also showed signs of chronic water encroachment and was dripping on the interior upon arrival. The doors to both Oceanside decks had screens that repeatedly fell out of the tracks and once onto my daughter’s head. Kitchen was adequately stocked and outdoor showers and spigots were welcome on front and rear of property. When first bathing my young son I realized the drain on the tub was not functioning. I messaged the owner who said that in my place she’d probably “stuff a rag in it.” A minor issue, yes. The mattress quality in the master bedroom was well below average. My husband is still trying to straighten his back out from a week sleeping on it. Then there was the grilling experience. Grill, fluid, and a scraper were all on site when we arrived as well as instructions for their use. When I was about to light the grill Oceanside one evening, an owner occupant from several doors down approached. She rather adamantly insisted that not only was I grilling on the wrong side of the house, but implied that the HOA governing the community does not allow renters to grill whatsoever. Mistaking the Oceanside as the “rear” face of the property and the front entrance as the “front” face was a legitimate mistake on my part. I contacted the owner who offered that she hadn’t signed any document agreeing to any of the “community rules” to which the owner occupant had alluded. The issues we had were minor. However, taken in aggregate, they did distract significantly from the experience. If more maintenance were performed and a better understanding reached between this owner and others in the vicinity, we would stay again and write a review of higher favor.

The view was amazing, but we were very disappointed with the new Dewey Beach "rules" that allow dogs to run free. And many dog owners did not handle their dogs properly, so we went to a neighboring beach a few miles away where there were very few people and just one or two dogs in the distance.

Best location in Dewey. Woke up to incredible sunrise over the ocean almost every morning. Hurricane Erin made the boogie boarding extra fun. Walked to the bars after a day on the ocean. Hawaiian restaurant was our favorite.Well kept unit with very good ac throughout. Powerful outdoor showerOwner was a pleasure to work with. .

The property was easy to access both with parking and lock box. It was clean and welcoming. We had a fantastic week with Orange (Sturgeon Moon) moons at night and beautiful breezes. The main queen bed is very comfortable and having the balcony right there was amazing. The kitchen was stocked with all the immediate things you would want (more than adequate amounts of plates/cups/glasses/silverwear etc..) and was a nice layout. The living room was comfortable and provided a beautiful view and plenty of TV options with the Roku. Location - besides being beach side - is easily walkable to all the Dewey "hotspots" and if you wanted bayside sunset views..no more than a 5 min walk- recommend the Rusty Rudder street for sunset views. Lastly, being able to bring the dog and have front and back water hose access to get off excess sand off of her and us was a real asset. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay again! Thank you!!

Incredible location

Location was perfect and the sunsets from the upper deck were beautiful. Walk out the door and you have a short walk to water’s edge or to a great choice of restaurants and shops. This is the vacation rental my family has been wishing for.

Plumbing issues

Overall okay. We had plumbing issues within 24 hours of checking in with water in the shower not being able to be turned off and the tub not draining. Property was not clean. We kept finding left over trash like wrappers and dental picks under the couch. Oceanview was wonderful however and the location to the beach superb.
