Family Friendly Grand Getaway in the middle of Historic Lake Placid!

Location, Location, Location! Our second Getaway in Lake Placid is in the heart of the Hillcrest area of Lake Placid. We are a luxury rental with full amenities and details designed for our Getaway to feel like your home away from home. Fully furnished and outfitted with everything you need to enjoy and create experiences while visiting. Cookies and hot cocoa included along with all linens, towels, soaps, cooking utensils, oil, spices, etc.. We are also a full retreat with customized experiences by John as your Getaway Concierge while staying. John’s advice and service help to make your stay memorable.
We are a fully licensed Short Term Rental Home by the town of North Elba (license number 200406)
PLEASE no parties/loud gathering such as Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, team parties, etc. We are in the heart of Lake Placid where many families live, work and play. We must respect our neighbor's peaceful living.

House was beautiful and very clean. Great location to with a very short walk into town but with the quietness you want when staying in Lake Placid. Host is great and very communicative. Had great outdoors, hike recommendations as well as restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing home! Everything is nicely arranged and finished, with a local/Adirondak style. The kitchen is well-stocked both with dishes etc and the host kindly shared condiments and other staples.

Great house in the middle of Lake Placid.

We had a great stay in Lake Placid. The house was beautiful and perfectly located just a couple blocks off of main street. We enjoyed our stay. The host, John, was available and very helpful.

Best Lake Placid VRBO

We decided to go away for Christmas this year and stayed at this lovely home! I was hesitant to be away for Christmas day, but found John’s home to be the perfect “home away from home” for our family! Great location, immaculate unit, and it had everything from a stocked kitchen to cozy bedrooms to make our stay perfect! My family will always remember this as one of our favorite Christmas experiences. We had fun iceskating, cross country skiing and downhill at Whiteface. We can’t wait to return!!!

Perfect Vacation Home

My friends and I frequent Lake Placid several times a year and this is the first rental that truly felt like a home away from home. It is exactly like the photos; warm, bright and inviting. John is communicable, knowledgeable about the area and was very accommodating. All around, our stay was wonderful. This is going to be our 1st pick for future stays in LP.

Perfect peaceful and active getaway

The property is just as advertised - spacious , clean , perfectly decorated with the mountain vibe , everything you ever needed available. Communication with the owner wonderful . We can’t to visit again - this location is peaceful and very close to all of the fun activities! Kayaking , bobsledding , coaster ride , boating , hiking , golfing , shopping , dining ..it has it all ! Thank you RUDICKs !

Great stay

Came here for Christmas week with a toddler and grandparents/family. All was as described and the house was very well stocked. Lots of great lighting, nicely decorated. Very close walk to Main Street that involves a hill but we enjoyed it! John was frequently communicating with us. Had a nice stay.

Perfect getaway

The property is in the best neighborhood right behind main street. Walking distance to ice rink and all shops and restaurants. The pictures did not do the property justice. It is so beautifully decorated and the best stocked rental we have ever had! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Great Stay, Perfect Location in Lake Placid!

We really enjoyed our stay, John and Heather are excellent hosts and the house was perfect. The location is close to town, the house was spotless, spacious for our group of 7, and had everything that we needed. The first floor with the large kitchen, dining room, and living room with fireplace allowed everyone to gather for meals and to catch up at the end of the day with plenty of room, and the kids absolutely loved the basement TV/game room. We visit Lake Placid often and this was our first time in a house, we usually stay at Whiteface Lodge. We chose this house because of it's proximity to town and because it looked cozy for our winter trip this year. Overall, it was perfect, we'd highly recommend it.

Eclipse viewing

We stayed four nights during the recent eclipse. The house was perfect for this. Lake Placid was very crowded, We could walk downtown with needing a car, or stay at the house away from the crowds. The home is very inviting day and night, with comfortable beds and nice kitchen. The living room allowed for comfortable conversation, or collective TV viewing. There was a recreation room downstairs that would have been great for kids, but we never used it. Very nice place.

Family ski trip

Had a wonderful stay with my family, the house was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Great location, walking distance to Main St in Lake Placid and many shops, restaurants and Olympic Village. It's a short drive to Whiteface Mountain or you can easily take the shuttle that picks up at Crowne Plaza 2 blocks from the house. Garage was very convenient for storing ski and snow gear throughout our stay. My nephews loved the play room and bunk room. Many board games and puzzles to enjoy a cozy night in after skiing at Whiteface. The house had everything we needed. John was so friendly, always available if we had any questions about the house and very knowledgeable about things to do in the surrounding area. We hope to return next year!

This was the first time in five years of visiting Lake Placid that we rented someone’s home. We won the lottery with this gorgeous house with its spacious rooms, luxury fixtures, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room, game room, vaulted ceilings, clean beds, linens, furniture and perfect location. John welcomed us by phone and was true to his word that he would be a text away. He offered detailed advice about outdoor activities, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. The list he had been building for years went to great use! We hope to return in the coming years!

Great Access to Lake Placid

The property was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 children. It was impeccably clean, well put together and decorated, and came with everything we needed for the week, including cookies!! The host provided helpful tips not only for use of the property, but with great suggestions for what to do and see in Lake Placid and surrounding areas as well as good restaurants! We were very pleased!

Awesome home in Lake Placid

This house is well located, easy to access downtown. The host is awesome, called me as soon as I booked. He provided lots of details on restaurants, hikes, things to do. Was super helpful during my stay. I would highly recommend this property. Probably one of the best hosts I've ever had for a VRBO rental.

After too many trips we realized it was time to buy our first Getaway in 2004 to share our home and experiences in Lake Placid with renters looking for a similar Getaway. After over 100 renters and 100 percent 5 star reviews we have found that our guests have just as much excitement for the town as us and enjoy exploring, learning about the area from insiders and appreciate the little things that make for a great trip.

Why they chose this property

Our other property was perfect! This property is amazing and grand. Not too big, just open and relaxing. This home offers so much room for entertaining. The extra garage spaces and large room off the garage is very accommodating for all the gear and service we do on our skis, bikes, etc.

What makes this property unique

Privacy while still in town. We are 5 minutes walking distance to ANYTHING in Lake Placid, but our large lot, trees and no street lights provide supreme peace when sleeping.
