Hayden Lake Waterfront Home W/Boat Dock, across from sand bar! <br>(No WiFi)
Weekday lake stays: quieter, lower rates Mon-Wed, Book now! The cabin sits in quiet Mokins Bay, a 25-minute drive from the town of Hayden. Beautiful views circle you from every angle with a Boat slip.
Mokins bay is a no-wake zone and remains extremely quiet during all seasons of the year. Because of the tranquility of the location, fish can be seen almost daily swimming near the beach or dock.
The location also has a private dock right off of your private beach, which is wonderful for swimming, sunbathing, boating, and fishing. The dock can be open and available for those travelers wishing to bring their boat or jet skis.
Just a short boat ride to the end of the bay, and you will be at the best swimming location on the lake. Known to many as the Sandbar, you will find white sand beneath the crystal clear water. The Sandbar is wonderful for swimming or just relaxing on your boat.
The hills behind the home are state-owned and great for wilderness hikes. Wildlife, such as deer, elk, moose, and turkey can often be seen here. There are also many trails close by for mountain biking.
For those looking for a more relaxing vacation, just step out onto the back deck and watch the birds sore over the water and the fish swim beneath it.
Inside the home, you will find two bedrooms and a bunk room. The main bedroom is located on the main floor with a queen bed. Wake up in this room to overlook the lake. The upstairs bedroom also has a queen bed, and the bunk room has a bunk bed ( twin on top and full bed on bottom.) There is a twin fold-out bed available upon request. In the bunk room, you will also find a TV with a DVD player.
On the main floor, you will find a living room with flat-screen TV ( local Chanel’s) and DVD player, a kitchen (with dishwasher) and an eating area. The deck has a propane fire table, chairs, an eating bar with stools, and propane BBQ. A great place to watch the sunset over dinner.
Everything you need from linens to towels and cooking utensils can be found here. Clothing, food and a camera should be all you will need to bring.
Things to know: No wifi (internet) and limited cell service, not all providers will work. Verizon and AT&T calls and texting work most of the time with very little data streaming.
The rock path leading down to the lake/dock is semi-steep and may not be suitable for all.
Limited Parking - parking area is above the cabin 2 cars will fit angled, some additional off-road parking may be available on the opposite side of the road

We love this place, perfect place to relax, fish and enjoy the lake. There is an amazing sandbar and excellent fishing in the bay making it popular with all our kids. Thanks for being amazing hosts to our family again!
Amazing property on the water that offered something for everyone to do! The house was very clean and offered everything we needed plus more to enjoy our stay! Will definitely be back!
We stayed three nights in this lake house. It was clean and comfortable with quiet surroundings. There are multiple areas to sit, relax and enjoy outside. We watched osprey and bald eagles, and were able to kayak from the property’s beach. The kitchen was well stocked with all we needed to cook. We would definitely book this place again!
We’re frequent visitors to Hayden Lake, first time at this property. The location was wonderful, nice sandy beach, tons of water craft for the family to enjoy, excellent fishing area, the sandbar is close and so fun for any age. Great place to relax, hike, fish, boat etc.
This is a great place to go somewhat off grid. The neighbors were mostly nice, but close. The road to get here is long and windy so be prepared for that. The parking is essentially street parking and fit our two SUVs tightly. Overall a good place to stay for fishing and canoeing
Had a wonderfully relaxing time with our crew at this Hayden lake gem. Enjoyed all the provided watercrafts. Wishing the slough had a bit less aquatic grasses for swimming, but the clean sands of the sandbar is just a short kayak from the dock.
This was a really nice place. Very clean and the owner was very communicative. The view was amazing. They supplied all kinds of fun water toys for the family. Great place for the price.
A couple pointers:
The stairs to get to the property and down to the water are very steep so keep that in mind when booking.
The parking said 2-3 vehicles however we barely fit our truck and SUV.
Bill's place is comfortable and well appointed. Beds were comfy. View was magnificent. We had use of all of his water toys which was nice. We brought our jet skis and there was a dedicated space on his dock to store them safely. Once we idoled out to the sand bar, we had to remove seaweed from the intake area. No big deal as it gave an opportunity to enjoy the lake water. It's a pretty windy road to get to his place but not much can be done about that.
We vacation primarily using Vrbo and have done so for 15 years. This was one of the few places that provided more than was listed. We had a great time. The kids fished and swam and played on the kayaks. We saw turtle , an otter, turtle and bald eagle. Lots of fish and lots to do. From 9 to 71, everyone had a great week.
Great Property - Everything we needed for relaxing stay
Property was as advertised. We showed up and didn't leave for the entire stay. Had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time. We brought our boat and the host provided some suggestions on parking the trailer that worked out great. The water temp was hitting 80F in the cove and the vegetation was growing in but kids still had a good time at the dock and the sand bar. had to clear the boat prop when we got out to deeper water. Not anything the host can do about that but something to be aware of. It was a hot week but with attention to the house and blinds and A/Cs we kept the house cool.
Fabulous week long stay at Bills lake house! We were really able to disconnect and relax. The house was comfortable and the kitchen was small but very well stocked. It was in the 90’s while we were there but the house was cool with AC and fans. We enjoyed coffee on the dock, taking out boat out to explore different bays, and lots of fishing in the evenings. The cell service was limited but I was able to get some data service in the mornings. There were lots of weeds by the dock so we didn’t swim too much there but really enjoyed fishing on the dock kayaking/paddling around all the lily pads (which we probably wouldn’t have had if there wasn’t as much vegetation) - and as the listing mentioned it was an easy paddle to the sandbar or finding someplace to float on our boat. The afternoons are very sunny (my teenager spent lots of time working on her tan!) but there are also lots of umbrellas or different outdoor seating options if you want to hide in the shade. I didn’t do much hiking but discovered some nice trails by the campground at the end of our stay. .
This was my first time booking through VRBO, and I wasn’t disappointed. My family had a great experience with Bill. He was a fabulous communicator, and he answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The lake house was exactly as shared in the listing. We loved the welcoming experience of help yourself to what is available in the kitchen and the lake toys. It felt like a home away from home. We will definitely book again. Thanks Bill!
Our family really enjoyed our introduction to Idaho at Bill’s lake house . The house was perfect, Bill thought of everything that we would need for our stay including huckleberry syrup for our pancakes😊.
Bill kindly let us know the lake was a little low this year, but it did not take away from its beauty and peacefulness. Would highly recommend!! Thank you, Bill!
The property owner was great to work with...a proactive communicator. The house was clean and well stocked with items a family would need to cook and clean with. The house came with several great water toys (kayaks, paddle boat, row boat, etc.). Beautify view! Our family / friends had a wonderful time hanging out on the huge dock, and taking the water toys to the nearby sandbar to hangout and play. Many wonderful memories were made at the property.
The house was great with an updated patio that had a beautiful view! The patio and dock both had propane fire pits and outdoor furniture. It’s close to the sandbar which made for great swimming. Due to abnormally low water levels we could not swim off of the dock and fishing was not great. Overall beautiful property with an excellent host who was great to work with.
Beautiful lake house perfect for a relaxing getaway with family. Location is superb. House is stocked with everything you need to enjoy Hayden Lake. Excellent host, quick to respond with any questions we had.
We stayed here with two families, including two toddlers, an infant, and an older child. The house worked out well for our group. The lake is amazing and we spent most of the time at the sandbar, which is perfect for families as its shallow and warm. Adults can swim off the dock also, but the bottom of the lake in front of the house is very deep soft muck and isn't suitable for kids as they would sink in. One thing to note is that the bunk room does not have a door so we couldn't have our younger kids sleep there as we had hoped. It was during an extreme heat wave and the entire area had power cuts. We lost power briefly also. The owner was extremely responsive and offered to help or refund the stay in case we lost power for longer. We would love to stay again!
Lovely property for 4th of July getaway weekend. Everything we needed for a lovely retreat with friends and family. Our kids loved the kayaks and peddle boat and was just a short jaunt to the sandbar to get in on the boat tie ups and holiday festivities
This place is a gem! We discovered this year year last minute during COVID and had such a great time we rebooked for this summer to celebrate the end of the school year.
Super private lot at the end of Mokins Slough, great fishing area (if your five year old has more patience than mine), plenty of water toys (3 kayaks, a pedal boat, and a rowboat), awesome new deck with a gas fireplace (and there's a gas fireplace down on the dock too). Very well stocked kitchen and bathroom and all the little things like laundry detergent, sunscreen, a puzzle, movies, cozy blankets, laundry hampers, etc.
We'll be coming back next year!
We loved this property and Bill was so friendly and helpful! He went the extra mile by emailing me about the fishing opportunities before our trip and letting me know when the cabin was ready before the scheduled check in time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could have wanted/needed. We would love to make it a yearly trip.
