Cozy Cabin-2 Bedroom+Loft/2 Bath Wonderful Cabin in Big Bear City CA

Welcome to our wonderful cabin in the quiet community of Big Bear City! Our cabin is recent new construction of a classic Big Bear chalet cabin! We NOW have 1,250 sq feet of space for your family to come up and enjoy, when we are not able to! In July 2010 we finished the new en-suite master bath and master suite! We are very excited about this addition to our cabin with a new back deck! This is our second home so we have added many things that the typical 'rental' would not have. WE HAVE CENTRAL HEAT! which most cabins don't have. It's great in the winter!

We find that our cabin is relaxing, and feels just like home. In fact, we have a hard time leaving our cabin, and so will you! We have provided a warm and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Big Bear.

Our alpine chalet has 2 bedrooms + a loft, and now, 2 baths! The downstairs master suite with en-suite bath, has a beautiful custom travertine shower, and a granite double-sink custom vanity. Our upstairs bedroom also has a custom Kentucky Queen log bed. Both of our log beds are equipped with Tempur-Pedic mattresses.

The loft has a twin bed and a double futon. All the beds have nice rustic bedding, comforters, and sheets. We feel that using nice bedding makes staying away from home just that more special.

Our kitchen includes everything you need to cook. Brand new Kenmore appliances make everything easy. We have provided most everything (we think) to be able to put together a fantastic meal in the mountains! Please tell us if we have left anything out..........

The counter tops are tumbled marble tile, and the cabinets are custom red oak. The kitchen table has seating for 4. Out the slider door from the kitchen is our backyard with a custom built deck with a nice b-bque with seating and a picnic table, which provides a great place to relax, especially in the summertime when it's gorgeous outside!

The living room is really comfortable with a leather sofa and an over sized chair to sit and enjoy the fireplace or the 37 inch flat screen TV, complete with BluRay DVD player (bring your BluRays). We also have a DVD library so feel free to enjoy a movie. Of course we have wireless internet! Our pool table will provide hours of fun after the long day hiking or skiing (it is not regulation size but is still a lot of fun)!

We are 10 minutes (around 7 miles) from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, so enjoy the quiet and relax while still being close enough to enjoy it all! 5 Minutes from the tubing center in Big Bear City. During the summer, there is hiking, biking, and lake activities to enjoy. This is a year-round area so anytime of year is nice. Please enjoy your stay in our quiet cabin!

Please inquire about charging your Tesla! We welcome Tesla owners.

Please note: We do NOT rent to ANYONE under 30 years old and proof of age is required! We will charge for extra messy guests who don't follow the checkout policies. That's what the extra $140 cleaning charge is for. If you are clean and leave our cabin just as you found it, you will get a $140 refund. We do charge every guest party the standard $60 cleaning fee!Problem past guests have ruined it for good guests but we need to protect our property so it stays nice for everyone!

First and Best Big Bear Trip Ever

It was great! Very comfy, perfect amount of rooms for my family of 5. The cabin was much nicer than we had expected and we had spent most of all our time in the cabin. We are very grateful for this cabin!

Lovely cabin

We loved our stay in this cabin and it exceeded our expectations. The layout was thoughtful, beds comfortable, kitchen well stocked, plenty of towels and extra blankets, the heat worked well and anything we needed was easy to find.. Honestly, everything was great and the owner was even flexible with our last minute need to reschedule due to our son being sick. I highly recommend this cabin!

Great cabin!

We enjoyed our stay. The kids had fun playing in the snow in the back yard. We had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. Communication was easy and prompt. Property was clean. I would totally rent this property again.

Awesome stay!

Our family had a great stay at Alpine Chalet. The cabin was warm, cozy, and very clean. It was such a welcome respite to check into the house after going through almost 6 hours of heavy traffic from the Los Angeles area. The kitchen was well-stocked and all amenities functioned properly. Lisa was always responsive to any question we had. I wish all vacation rentals were like the Alpine Chalet. Thanks again for everything!

We had a great time at your cabin! It was clean, cosy, and everything was in great condition. We've stayed in other cabins at Big Bear, but this one was so comfortable and well-appointed I'm sure we'll be back. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond to questions. One warning to other guests, though: Once you enjoy the Keurig coffee maker they have there, you'll end up going home and buying your own. I just unwrapped mine tonight! Thanks for a fun stay!

What a nice surprise!

We were worried that staying in Big Bear City in an older cabin would be something we would regret, but that was not the case with the Alpine Chalet! What a lovely cabin that is totally upgraded with a beautiful master suite add on and a nice loft that was perfect for our family of 3 and my parents! The bathrooms are beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking all our meals and the wood burning fireplace was great for keeping us toasty warm while hanging out watching the nice large flat screen TV! Lisa was very prompt in all of her communications and the cost was quite affordable. We will definitely be back! :-)

Cute & Cozy Mountain Retreat

Cabin is adorable on the outside, reminding me of something you'd see in Santa's Village. Inside it's cute and cozy. Small but well laid out with the main bedroom in the back and the loft in the front. Nice fireplace that came in handy and created a warm atmosphere for watching movies with a glass of wine. Location is convenient to both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain and close to town as well for shopping and dining out. A former reviewer commented on the master bed being very tall and I can confirm that it's a little challenging to get onto the bed and I am actually tall! But once you're on it, it's very comfortable. We had an enjoyable experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Nice getaway during pandemic

My family of four (2 adults, 2 kids: 9 and 11) have been stuck at home for so long due to COVID19 so we decided to get away to big bear for a couple of days. The cabin was fantastic. Has a pool table that entertained the parents while kids were watching tv and using their devices. The WiFi connection was strong. The beds were surprisingly comfortable; the kitchen had a good supply of pots, pans, and dishes; and the bathrooms were nicely updated. There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion provided, in addition to lots of hand soap and hand sanitizer. House was very clean and well maintained. The owner (Lisa) was easy to work with and communication was smooth.

don't rent this place

I debated whether to write this or not. Normally, I prefer not to say anything but because I rent homes regurally, I believe I would want this information. I stay at about 3 homes through VRBO every year for at least 15 years and I have never dealt with an owner as petty nor petulant. For us renters, we understand that the house won't be as good as the home we live in. As owners, we understand that people will be staying in our rental property. To renters, understand that even if you follow all the check out rules such as cleaning dishes, pans, setting tempture, leaving beds unmade, taking our garbage, and etc, the owner will complain if her housekeeper has to run a sponge over the top of the stove or gather the sheets. We took down a desk lamp from upstairs because the lighting is very poor downstairs and she still complained. I believe that not everyone should be an owner or renter and this person should not be renting out a house. There are a number of problems with the house such as the patio door cannot be opened without the handle coming off and we were unable to lock the house properly. These for me were minor issues but it was the attitude of the owner that caught me by surprise. There's an understanding between well intentioned owners and renters that we try to do right by one another. I found this to be violated in this case. I would not rent this property.

I’m sorry you felt our cabin was so unacceptable. I’ve been a VRBO owner for so many years and usually don’t have to deal with guests who leave our cabin in an unacceptable state. Obviously if you had read our reviews, your review is very different. Our guests follow directions and we usually don’t have problems! I am picky because we have had problems with guests in the past leaving our cabin trashed. This is not some rental home, it’s our vacation home and we use it a lot and expect it to be treated well and not like some cheap hotel room. Sorry you had so many issues. That’s why my instructions are there!

Big Bear Getaway

This cabin was absolutely perfect for me and my family. The house was very clean & cozy and instantly felt like home. The location was perfect just a short drive to all of our activities we had planned. The host was super nice & accommodating and responded fast. We are already planning our next trip and plan on staying here again.

Home sweet home

The house is clean and have what we need to spend couple of nights with 2 young children. It feels like your own home not rental property. I will definitely pick this house again when I came back to big bear in future .

Wonderful cabin

Hello there! Heather, Lisa and John (Heather and I are in the picture!) welcome you to our cabin in Big Bear! We just wanted you to know a little more about us. John and I are musicians and own our cabin with our my sister Heather, who lives in TX. We bought our cabin in June 2008, but started looking in February during a really big snow storm! As busy musicians John and I really felt like we needed a getaway for our family in the mountains. Heather and I are skiers and love going to Snow Summit! During March of the 2010 ski-season we both learned how to snowboard, very brave of us.! I think I am still sore! We all love hiking the trails up here and look forward to more wonderful times, winter or summer!

Why they chose this property

We thought the location of our cabin was ideal in a quiet area but close enough to skiing and hiking but away from the party life of Big Bear central. It was perfect for us.

What makes this property unique

There are alot of properties around but our cabin is simply put, NEW and one of a kind! We offer all the amenities of a 5 star resort but at a bargain price. You won't find many cabins like ours, especially with all the neat touches that we feel make it just like home, or even better!
