Sleepy Lagoon is an incredibly picturesque, park-like property that offers 30 acres just minutes from shopping, dining, and outdoor activities in Downtown Covington. When you enter the gates of Sleepy Lagoon, driving up the long, azalea-lined driveway, past a barn, fenced paddock, and an expansive green space rife with oak, pine and magnolia trees, you immediately forget the busy streets you just left behind. Next, you pull up to a beautiful fountain in the center of the majestic koi pond that flows into the lagoon below from which the property gets its name. The lagoon is dotted with cypress trees and live oaks and winds throughout the property. Wooden bridges and lighted, elevated walkways along the water beckon guests to take a stroll around. At the end of the driveway sits The Cottage, welcoming you with its front porch swing and ceiling fans. Inside, you'll find a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath home with a bonus space that sleeps two additional guests, that was completely renovated in April 2020. The Cottage offers all the amenities of home, from all necessary cookware, serving ware and appliances in the kitchen to extra linens and towels for each bedroom. The den and all three bedrooms feature wall mounted Smart TVs with high speed internet connection. A brand new washer and drier set can be found in the laundry area just beyond the breakfast table. The Cottage has a carport and ample space for extra parking. There is a charcoal bbq grill (charcoal and lighter fluid provided), as well as a large Blackstone griddle for you to enjoy. If you're wanting to explore even more of the grounds, you'll want to stroll to the back of the property, where you'll find the cliffs overlooking the Bogue Falaya River. A walkway allows you to travel down to the water where you can enjoy the feel of the white sandy beaches under your feet and the relaxing sounds of the babbling water in your ears. If you love to fish, be sure to bring your poles and bait so you can fish in our stocked ponds (catch and release only, please!) Sleepy Lagoon is a place like no other.
