We were in town for a wedding and loved our stay here. The home is in a perfect location and has a beautiful view of the sea. It has luxurious linens, comfy beds, and a well-appointed kitchen. It was meticulously cleaned, and we would absolutely stay again!
One of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. The kitchen & bath amenities were wonderful and more than we could have expected. The space is light and bight with wonderful views of the water. Very walkable to town and just minutes from a grocery store. You could not ask for a more comfortable rental.
Come back any time, Rick. It was a pleasure to host you. We appreciated the respectful treatment of our island home. Would host you again in the future!
A lovely home! We enjoyed the comfortable living room/dining/kitchen area with its large windows and distant view of the bay. We especially enjoyed the sound of the house sparrows on the deck as they were busy building their nests under the eaves. The bedrooms were comfortable and the Jack-and-Jill bathroom worked well for us two couples. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Our family of four loved this place. It was very comfortable and a beautiful retreat. Many details were attended to including binoculars for viewing wildlife. We only wish we had a longer stay. We can’t wait to return!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Would happily host you and your family again. Hope you will return in the future!
The accommodations were excellent and sparkly clean. Bathroom amenities were readily available. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, etc. We had our bikes but distance to the ferry was .8 mile and very walkable. I would highly recommend anyone staying here and would stay here again. The only minor thing that could be improved was cell access to both Consumer Cellular and T Mobile from inside the house.
Absolutely loved our first visit to Friday Harbor! House was so clean and charming and in a perfect location. We will be back for sure! Barbara was amazing to work with and had the house stocked with every little thing you would need. One of our best family vacations ever!

Great family - great guests! Thanks for the respectful use of our island home. We welcome you back enthusiastically!
We loved our time at this place! So much natural light and everything was really nice as the pictures show. The location is perfect with how centrally located it is. There is some traffic noise when sitting on the deck due to being extremely close to a fairly busy road, but that didn't bother us much. We would absolutely love to stay in this place again.
The house is lovely and loaded with thoughtful touches like locally-grown coffee, tea bags, creamers, sugar, etc. There was plenty of laundry detergent which guests are encouraged to use. The bed was comfortable. The owner was easy to reach and always responded promptly. It is clear she cares that guests are comfortable and feel welcomed. I’d recommend this home to anyone planning a stay in Friday Harbor.
This house met all our expectations plus more. Close to ferry and downtown but still quiet and rural. Well maintained and the owner is easy to reach and responsive.
The cottage on Cedar Street was the perfect location for our two night stay. We were four adults and found the set up (two bedrooms downstairs, shared large bathroom downstairs and powder room upstairs) to be spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean, well appointed (the local coffee was much. appreciated!), clear communication with host, and great location close to town. We’d definitely stay again!
This property is beautiful and comfortable. Every detail and more has been thought of and provided for guests. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the water view. The kitchen is amazing and well stocked. The recommendations for dining and whale watching provided by the owner were terrific. Owner responds very quickly to all messages. The four of us agreed, this is an all thumbs up place to enjoy San Juan Island.
This cottage is very comfortable and well supplied, especially the kitchen; within walking distance to downtown.
Beds are full size; would be more comfortable if queen or king.

Thanks, Marina, for the lovely review. To clarify our bed sizes, both bedrooms are equipped with queen size beds. Not sure why that was mistaken. I loved hosting you and your family and wish you a lovely autumn!
We love visiting San Juan Island. This was a great location for quick trips into town and a quiet jumping off point to get to all our favorite junked and shoreline adventures. The house is beyond immaculate. So clean and tasteful. We enjoyed every minute.
This home was the full package, the pictures are stunning but somehow the property is even better in person. We loved the big porch, the spa-like bathroom and the well-appointed spacious kitchen. The location is very convenient to town but still feels private thanks to landscaping and fencing. We'd recommend this home to anyone!
Our family of five stayed in this home for three nights and wished that we could have stayed much longer. It is a lovely home in a very convenient location. Everything was sparkling clean with lots of extra touches. We have stayed in many homes on VRBO and Airbnb and we would highly recommend this home.

Lovely guests! Respectful of our home, thoughtful of house rules, and all communication was a breeze. We welcome you back to our home any time. Thanks for being great guests!
The house has been remodeled with great taste. It is nothing short of perfection. And the owner has anticipated just about any need a guest could have or dream up. The kitchen is complete, down to the pound of local coffee.
The house is in a quiet location. The proximity to the town's excellent restaurants and the ferry terminal is a decided plus.
It was a lovely home, clean, and had all the nice things that make a home nice. Great kitchen and all that goes with it, dishes, pots and pans, silverware, etc.It did have a shared bathroom between the bedrooms. We did not expect this from the description given with VRBO, and it was a mile from town. Other than that, we were very happy. I wanted to get in contact with the host/owner to see about the TV, but there was no phone number contact.
4 women stayed for 3 nights and toured the island. It is a short walk to downtown Friday Harbor, bike rentals and restaurants. If you are sensitive to traffic it was a little noisy when sitting outside but we didn’t notice it at all in side. Not a problem! My only suggestion would be if you like games, bring your own

About the host
Hosted by Barbara O'Hara Pilkington
Barbara and Pete have sailed the San Juan Islands for many years, experiencing adventures at every outing. Seattle captured our imaginations, in both work and play, for most of our adult lives, but the islands are now our home. We love the friendliness of Islanders who truly live on "island time" and are teaching us the easy-going ways of island life. Driving around the island in search of farm produce, eggs, fruits and vegetables or flowers is a favorite pastime. In search of Orcas, eagles or foxes is almost always rewarded with grand vistas and fantastic photographs. We are excited to share our magical island treasures with visitors and hope being on "island time" is as easy for you to achieve as it is to experience. Come be our guest at The Cottage on Cedar Street!

Easy, mostly flat walking distance - about 14 minutes - into Friday Harbor village. The island's largest grocery store is nearby, filled with fantastic local produce and organic products. We have a lovely bakery and food co-op nearby, as well.
This property is beautifully sited on 3/4 acre with a heritage orchard. It is a reverse floor plan, which is to say the bedrooms and main bath are on the first floor, with the living space and bay view BBQ deck above. The chef's kitchen is a dream to cook in, while everyone is a part of the fun joining in from the great room, dining room and deck.
We are WFH (work from home) ready and have installed maximum 500x500 Mbps internet service. We provide a level 2 car charger for your ease in traversing the island in your electric/hybrid car. Our focus is on offering an exceptional experience with eco-friendly touches that express our love of conserving resources and preserving all that makes this place so unique.
Within the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, Friday Harbor, San Juan Island is the place to stay and relax, either during our gentle summers or calm winters, when island life slows to a lovely, and memorable pace. We get less rain than other areas in the region, making for clean air and clear vistas. Come visit us, you'll love it here!
