Paul and his wife are wonderful hosts and we had a lovely time by Riley Lake. The bed was really comfortable and we slept really well. We would have enjoyed a fire in the evenings but there was a fire ban during our stay.
This was a beautiful cottage on a beautiful calm and quiet lake. We had a great weekend and will definitely be here again.

Broken Dream (5 stars for the scenery… not much else). The lake, waterfront, swimming, and kayaks were excellent.Unfortunately, the cottage itself feels neglected. There are exposed nails at head height, peeling paint, weathered wood, and splinters throughout the property. The wooden rowboat was so deteriorated we didn’t feel safe using it, though the metal boat appeared much better.Communication was frustrating. We didn’t receive check-in instructions at all. We had to request the address (which is confusing as the street was renamed), and nowhere did it clearly state guests needed to bring their own sheets, towels and drinking water. The host showed up after check in time without announcing himself. We ended up driving an extra hour each way to Walmart to buy essentials we would have packed if we’d known. Guests are expected to leave the cottage spotless (down to scrubbing the toilet and sink), yet the property appears to have gone years without good maintenance and good cleaning . Blinds barely open, kitchen door net barely works, and many fixtures feel worn or broken. The disappointing part is that these issues are fixable. With basic maintenance, fresh paint, repaired wood, removed exposed nails, and updated fixtures, this could be an outstanding rental because the location is beautiful.Instead, it feels like maintenance has been deferred for years. Come for the lake and scenery, but be prepared for an undermaintained cottage that doesn’t live up to its setting.

When a booking is received we respond with directions and information about the rental including potable water and bedding requirements. We also specify that we will be visiting with them to answer any questions upon arrival.
The renters broke the BBQ left unwashed dished on the counter and left the coffee pot full of grinds. They did
not even vacuum or clean up their messes
As one can see from the cleanliness rating (9,4) the cottage is extremely clean and well maintained.
In fact, we are almost qualified for the Premier Host status and will be with a few more bookings.
I can’t say enough amazing things about Paul and June. The property was so unique and beautiful. They were so generous and thoughtful. If you’re looking for affordable paradise- this is it.
Very smooth check-in with great communication with owners. They were super friendly and made everything easyLocation was great, right by the water. Access to a dock with kayaks and paddle boat for use.Family had a really great time.
Great views and peaceful stay. Just my wife, me and our 10 year labrador retriever. No air conditioning, that's what the lake is for! Multiple trips to the water for the water dog too! Owners are great people. Thanks very much for the memories!
We had an ideal stay at “The Dream”. It was a perfect cottage experience with comfortable accommodations and an absolutely beautiful setting. We enjoyed the boating, fire pit, and the swimming. The water was beautiful, calm and warm.
We had a lovely relaxing time in the quiet and peaceful cottage set on a beautiful lake.

Riley Lake is lovely
Had the weather been better would have stayed longer but with the building separate and having to leave the living/kitchen cabin to go to the bathroom was some what difficult.
We had a nice 4 day stay at The Dream. It is a unique set up with the 2 a-frames. Paul and June were very welcoming and the fresh bread was a wonderful treat. Sadly the fish did not cooperate but it was relaxing to sit on the dock and rocks.
The only downside is that the fridge is quite small so make sure that you have a cooler and ice for your overflow.
The Dream was a very relaxing peaceful stay.
Lots of kayaking and fishing.
Paul and June were very helpful.
The fresh baked bread was delicious!! Thank you June
Paul was able to give us a small history of the lake and property. Made our stay more interesting.
We were able to float most of our days in the water. The lake was perfect.
The loons were calling every evening.
S’mores every night.
It was the perfect vacation for my daughter and I.

Okay
The area was very rooty and dramatically slanted. He floating dock was submerged when the boats went by. NO FISH in the lake. The fresh bread and introduction was great. Small fridge not sufficient for a week with 4 people.
An absolute DREAM...Had the pleasure of staying here with my girlfriend and the dog for three nights. Absolutely stunning. The property SOMEHOW seems to get sun from sunrise, to sunset, yet has some lovely shady spots if it gets too intense. A floating dock and sandy shoreline invite you to go for a swim, or just stand hip high and read a book while keeping cool. Sunsets are breathtaking, stargazing amazing. I can't really paint a picture of how perfect this place is. While there are neighbors and some pleasure craft usage on the lake, it never felt like we were amongst others, in fact the way the two A frame units are layed out, and the various rock points and dock, you felt like you were in complete peaceful, tranquility.Having said that, the place is best suited for a couple or single who just wants a romantic weekend away, read a good book (or three) and listen to a jays game while having a fire. I would NOT suggest this place if your MO is to chug beers and listen to iron maiden; you are amongst others and in a lake that carries sound extremely well. Don't be a jerk. WIFI was fast if you need it....The interior of the unit's although quaint, offer a minimalistic yet modern feel. A tv you can hook a laptop up to for streaming on a rainy night, as well as a toaster oven, dual induction burner, a BBQ, as well as coffee maker. Again, this place is suitable for a couple, so the cooking facilities are more than ample. Paul is a GEM to deal with. Can't wait to return.
My husband and I just returned, and it was an amazing get away for the two of us. It had everything we wanted. The row boat and kayaks were an added bonus. Waking up to the loons each morning was incredible. Many thanks to Paul and June, and their lovely daughter for bringing us worms, that was so thoughtful .
Excellent. We ( two adults & 12 year old son) had a great time. Paul & June are tremendous down to earth people.
Riley Lake is just the right size, no huge boats and lots of fishing opportunities.
Now if you are looking for hot tubs & pool tables then The Dream is not for you. However, if you want everything you require for a relaxing spot with beautiful nature on tap then this is the place. Not that the modern world is ignored; wi-fi, x-box, and DVD players add to the end of a fun evening.
Paul & June, Thanks for some great memories.
