Elevated and private, 'Above the Trees' is a self contained two bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a Heritage home in Stanley Bay, Devonport.
A peaceful and private retreat it has it's own entrance, and wonderful sweeping views overlooking Ngataringa Bay and beyond.
Accommodation consists of of a queen size bedroom and adjoining sun room with a double bunkbed.
The open plan lounge and kitchen look directly out to the fabulous sea views. Leading out from the living area is a large deck amongst the olive, bougainvillea, bottlebrush and loquat treetops - a wonderful setting for alfresco dining and relaxing in the sunshine. There is a good sound system with classical and contemporary cd's provided.
The deck has a hot and cold shower - have you ever had a hot shower in the pouring rain, or under the stars?
It takes just a few minutes walk to the ferry connecting to the Auckland city waterfront and into Devonport village. 'Above the Trees' offers both seclusion and accessibility to all the delights of Devonport village.
The apartment is furnished using unique, handcrafted kauri pieces made by your host. Special conditions: Smoking outside only please. Pets allowed with prior approval. Staying here was wonderful. The view was wonderful. The place is quaint and comfy. Hubert was the perfect balance of supportive host and respectful of privacy.

Rented for 3 weeks while we toured New Zealand. Has a charming cottage feel with all the modern amenities. We especially enjoyed bird watching on the patio. Outdoor shower is great when returning from the beach. I’d stay here again for sure.

The property was perfect for us. We had our dog. It was just right for the two of us. If I had any improvement to suggest it would be good to have small condiments available like salt & pepper. cooking oils etc , but a very minor and easy issue to fix. Our host was great. Very good for anyone that wants somewhere central in Devonport region . thank you again.

The area is beautiful and the accommodation is lovely, charming and comfortable. It worked well for the four of us and is a great spot to launch out and about on day trips from.
We had a fabulous three days at this very charming apartment -This place is light and sunny, with a private deck and full of charm. Perfect for a family (I'm not sure the bunk beds would fit large adults). And the location is fabulous, in Devonport with its cafes and beachfront, just across the water from the hustle and bustle of Auckland CBD. Thanks so much Hubert, we hope to be back!
We stayed in the property for 3 weeks or so. We enjoyed our stay vey much, in fact we were sad to leave. The property itself and location were perfect. just a 10 minute ferry trip and you are in the middle of the Auckland CBD. You have the beauty of Devonport itself, with all the cafes and restaurants.
Our host Hubert was most accommodating and helpful, we were very grateful. The unit itself was extremely clean and tidy upon arrival, and has all the amenities required for a very comfortable stay.
We have recommended the property to our friends, and can only say thanks so much Hubert, and Book a Bach.

Nice place to stay
Nice place to stay, including a lot of privacy. The location is perfect just a short walk from Devonport and the ferry to Auckland city. We stayed as a family and the children loved the bunkbed and enjoyed playing on the deck. Would book again.
