About this property

The Fishing Bach - Cottage for all Seasons

This older, original style, character Bach is a holiday cottage for all seasons and for all reasons. Not only is it ideally positioned for the enthusiastic fishermen, being adjacent to the Judges Pool on the Tongariro River, it is also a wonderful holiday cottage for families.

The Property backs onto the river reserve and it is an easy wander out through the section and down to the river to fish or to enjoy short or long walks along the river banks.

The Fishing Bach is ideally located 35 minutes from Mount Ruapehu and the Tongariro National park and all that this area offers, with skiing and the other outdoor pursuits such as biking and hiking, especially the famous Tongariro Crossing.

Nearby attractions include the wonderful Lake Taupo, (5mins), Hot Pools at Tokaanu, (5mins), and the bustling tourist town of Taupo, (30mins). There is also the Kaimanawa Forest Park a short drive away.

Turangi has a New World supermarket and a small shopping centre which caters for most requirements, including the best meat pies! There is a covered swimming pool complex and mini golf all within walking distance.

The Fishing Bach is a self contained cottage on a large back section. It is ideal and safe for children who can bring their bikes and enjoy playing outdoors.

The Bach sleeps a maximum of 6 people, with 3 bedrooms in all. It has a cosy living area with an open fireplace, essential in winter and a separate dining room. It has one bathroom with a shower/shub, a tidy compact kitchen and a washing machine and dryer.

There is plenty of parking for cars and boats on the property.

Bed Linen is provided. Bring own bath towels, but can be provided for extra fee of $3 each.

There is a cleaning fee of $85 per stay.
Special conditions:
Sugar, coffee, tea, flour, salt, are in the cupboard for your use and long life milk is in the fridge for your first cup of tea on arrival.

My husband's family have been coming to Turangi for 60 years and built the bach next door which we still have and use regularly. So we consider ourselves locals although we don't actually live in Turangi. Our children all love it here and are now bringing their own children to holiday in this wonderful part of the New Zealand.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because it is next door to our own bach, in an area we love and we wanted to retain the special environment we have here for us and others to enjoy as much as we have.

What makes this property unique

The old world charm of a family fishing bach which is right on the doorstep of the famous Tongariro river for keen trout fishing people and super handy to skiing, mountain hiking, walking and bike trails. Snow, sun, lakes and rivers on offer.Or just enjoy the peace of your surroundings, You can be spoilt for choice.
