Absolute Lake edge - Architects own - Rotoiti bach
Rotoiti Lake House is an absolutely unique property. This much treasured Architects own Bach is situated so close to the lake itself (8 metres only!) that you'll have to pinch yourself to make sure that it is true! The Lake House could be easily mistaken as a reasonably recent build due to the quality of its original owners design, but amazingly this Bach was built in 1961 - it's certainly true that good architecture doesn't date! It has recently been lovingly and extensively refurbished to a more comfortable modern standard with appropriate conveniences, but the current owners have strived to ensure that the houses unique "Kiwi Bach" character has not been lost, and as such, period fixtures and furnishings throughout have been used where ever possible. The property sits in an exclusive bay alongside only two other lake front properties, occupied by permanent residents, ensuring your peace and privacy. The bay itself is very safe, as it is off the main thoroughfare of the lake, and is perfect for children of all ages to explore in view of the family. The site faces directly west so is fantastically positioned for full sun from late morning to late evening - when it's most required and can be properly appreciated. It is situated down a private forestry road far from the madding crowd, and also importantly, far from the traffic and therefore traffic noise that can plague other Rotoiti properties. You are able to enjoy the convenience of a private jetty for your boat, as well as being in close proximity to a natural hot water bay, a ski lane, and the Manupirua Hot Pools in particular. In recent times this property was specifically identified and used as a set for an international movie shoot...so I guess you could say it has proven bona fide star pulling power too! So let your inner movie star out and indulge yourself in a little of the good life at our Rotoiti Lake House! Special conditions: -Smoking permitted outside only -Deck not suitable for small children -Pets allowed outside only with approval -Bed linen provided and will be laundered for you on departure. -Guests must supply their own towels - Boats need to be launched at public boat ramp and boat trailer parked on safe road side near top of drive as there is no space or access from back of property.

A stunning spot right on the lake front. Even though it was a bit out of the way to get to, this added to the appeal. The house was set up really well, and the owner was lovely to deal with. We loved the natural hot pools that were a very short kayak/paddleboard away. A restful holiday!
A truely special place. No trouble launching our boat and using the jetty.Easy to get to natural hot pools and the Public hot pools. Wonderful swimming spot for the family including our 3 year old granddaughter.
Amazing stay on this cute lake front bach. Views are priceless, jetty helpful and view from main bedroom and lounge incredible. Managed to only catch weeds but did see fish jumping just not on my line! Wound stay again for sure, thanks to Jennifer and her partner for being amazing helpful hosts. 10/10
Secluded in a sheltered, calm bay. Almost touching the water the views were stunning, sunset was pure warmth, the bach comfortable and homely. Such a memorable weekend.
After a tricky access road and driveway the Bach was worth the effort. A great location on the Lake we wish we had had a boat. Very relaxing and well appointed. Will book again.
This was our second stay and we’d come back in a heartbeat.
Perfectly appointed - all the little things are thought of to maximise a relaxing stay (electric blankets, beautiful bedding, well decked out kitchen - including dishwasher, plenty of firewood, kayaks and life jackets, separate room for the kids with tv).
All of this on the lakes edge, where you can while away the hours simply enjoying the view.
We enjoyed the water taxi to the hotpools (it was a real treat being picked up/dropped off from the jetty out front)!
Thanks for sharing your little slice of paradise with others.
We had a really great time ,the location is amazing and owners very helpful with lots of firewood which was great for the cooler weather we had. Awesome
Amazing views, fantastic location. We drove to the mountain bike park most days, chilled by the fire in the evening. This property has everything you need. Great running trails and a nice reward of a hot pool in the forest!
Amazing place to stay, cool house, lots of places to kayak, bike ride and hot pools close boat ride or kayak. Perfect for sunsets.
We love coming here. Top choice!
Had an amazing stay with my family, the host was very helpful and communicated with us well. We loved swimming and kayaking around the bay, bedrooms were great. Going back home All very happy and relaxed :)
Had such a fantastic relaxing time at this beautiful Bach!! So nice and secluded and perfect for a family getaway! Loved every moment! Thank you so very much!
This classic and architecturally significant property is a real gem. Great location right on the shoreline, secluded and quiet. Though weather was cold and windy, the Bach was toasty warm and sunny.
This Review is from my 9 year old daughter. She loved the fact she had her own bunk bed and tv in her room. She had so many wonderfull activities to enjoy from riding her bike to the boat ramp and forest climb, to kayaking to the small hot water beach to left of the Bach. It’s an amazing place to have stayed. Will love to return someday
Great quiet spot surrounded by bush, Jetty was very handy to leave our boat in the water.
Kids had a great time using the kayaks.
Kids bunk room is very spacious.
We had our adult children with us so having the boat at the jetty made it easy for boating. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a comfy stay.
