Thank you Debbie for your review
However we were very disappointed that your partner chose to have the tyre changed on your vehicle by Hawkes Bay Towing at 12.30am
The noise of the rattle gun at that time of the morning created distress to my neighbours who were worried that someone was out stealing car tyres on our property.
What made the job so urgent.
You failed to respect others on this one
you didn't drive the car again ,till you checked out.
Furthermore you could have asked for assistance next morning from the hosts.
Needless to say ,We weren't impressed
We had a great weekend in Guthrie Cottage which has everything you need for a stay in beautiful Havelock North. Easy access to all the local attractions and great hosts. See you again soon.
We couldnt be happier with our two moth stay. The Cottage was comfortable and quiet. The hosts were exceptional. We will return to Havelock North to visit family and plan on staying at the lovely cottage and wonderful hosts.
The cottage was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. Well presented and with the option of eating on a sheltered porch. Highly recommended

Virginia,to be fair,if you withhold contact information through the booking platform, like your cellphone number, how can you be contacted, yes email.
But you didn't read your email which contained your check-in instructions, you arrived with no idea how to get in.
You rang VRBO to which they read my email which I sent to you.
I met you and your husband and covered things relating to the accommodation.
I also mentioned we had had a lot of rain and that doors could stick.
But you took no notice
And damaged the front French door by forcing it open.
What's worse ,you and your husband said nothing.
I knew you had caused damage, the broken pieces of the door were left on the verandah, you and your husband knew, yet you both choose to say nothing.
What sort of person does this
We work hard to provide a pleasant stay for guests,we provide treats for guests to eat, which you did.
Yet you have the cheek to call our place drab
The only thing drab is your attitude
Porch steps too high for 87 year old seniors who are
getting more infirm had hoped there would have been a
ramp available but the photo did not show other end of
verandah.Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Good morning Ron and Frances
Thank you for your review
With all stays,if a guest is more open to the host that they are aged,or require anything that would make their stay more enjoyable,we are more than happy to meet your needs.
In this instance you did neither.
Although we had asked the question when we sent through the check-in instructions
As you would have seen, after checking in,that there was another set of stairs(lower) around the corner from the main entrance leading up to the veranda.
If we had known ,we would have made the necessary adjustments.
We try our very best to give our guests a great experience whilst staying with us.
Everything was great except for the tiny coffee maker. There was a lot of extra things in the bedroom that perhaps weren’t needed and would have allowed more space to organize if they were removed. Overall, it was super awesome. Malcolm and Anne were very nice and accommodating.
After months of COVID restrictions it was great to spend five nights at this property to recharge our batteries.
Excellent accommodation with the most obliging, generous hosts.
Extras included fresh roses, abundant fruit and Easter treats.
Lovely restored villa from outside, as per the online photos. However, the bedroom was very small - difficult to get in and out of bed and no where to put bags/cloths other than the living space. We had expected there to be more in the kitchenette (but maybe our fault for not reading the details thoroughly)
Modernised but retaining its charm and character, in a quiet location with lovely garden but close to the town centre, enjoyed talking with the owners about the property history.
