A great quiet location and a house with a little piece of character
We found the setting relaxing and very pretty, with a lot of flowers and an open green lawn area. Di and Matthew were excellent hosts, generous with season-ripe golden queens and apples.
A lovely quiet spot in a great location easily accessing North Havelock & Hastings, wineries & surrounding areas. Lovely hosts on hand if needed and everything you could need supplied.
Great little cottage to stay in. Very relaxing drinking our wine under the grape vine. Will be back. Mattew and Di are excellent host and a pleasure to meet.
A fantastic stay. Matthew and Diane listened and opened up their land that we were able to wonder around in our own time.
Looking forward to going back again.
Really lovely hosts. Beautiful little house with grapes hanging over the BBQ area. Nice and quiet with a super comfy bed. Little extras provided like cooking oil salt pepper and other bits and pieces. Definitely recommend.

A pleasant property. I especially loved the old walnut tree.Thanks.
This property is wonderful if you want to relax and enjoy the surroundings of the berry farm. The owners Matthew, and Di can’t do enough for you, including cleaning the grill every time you use it and providing big bowls of apples and fresh fruit. I would recommend this to anybody who wants peace and quiet for the convenience of being in the Hawkes Bay area.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Berry Farm, it was quiet and peaceful and the hosts really helped to make our stay special. The property was clean and nicely appointed, had everything that you could use for an extended stay. We enjoyed strolling around the property and watched the wildlife in the nearby pond. For activities, we went to Te Mata Peak to take pictures of the sunset, fed the Penguins at the nearby National Aquarium of New Zealand, went to the Strawberry Patch for local fruits & vegetables, went on a wine tasting at the Linden Estate Winery in Napier and went into nearby Hastings for dinner & groceries. The hosts were kind enough to provide-us with many apples and we had an opportunity to pick raspberries from their garden. Great place to rest and relax!
Lovely backyard but seating area filthy.Advertised laundry was a machine out on the lawn!So many multi plugs in use inside one wonders how safe this is.Building very tired
I did not expect to be so in the thick of daily operations as I was at Berry Farm. The accommodation backs on to the berry shop and is attached to the owner's home. I found it noisy with all the comings and goings when I was trying for a retreat. I think the name is misleading. Di and Matthew are lovely hosts and made me very welcome.
A great base to explore the delights of Hastings and Havelock North. Very comfortable.

About the host
Hosted by Di Charlton
Matthew and Di are a couple in our early 70s who have owned The Berry Farm for over 40 years. We grow boysenberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries and have a huge vegetable garden, assorted fruit trees and farm animals. We love the rural, peaceful setting yet we are only five minutes from Hastings and Havelock North.
