Escape to our beautifully presented cottage, tucked away in a peaceful native garden that you'll share with the main house. You'll have your own private outdoor area to unwind in, complete with a BBQ and chimenea to create the perfect atmosphere for a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Along with the recently renovated bathroom and kitchen area, our well-appointed cottage is fully air-conditioned, ensuring your comfort year-round. With space to accommodate up to 4 guests (though it's best suited to 2 adults), the cottage features a cozy lounge area and all the necessities you'll need to feel right at home.

Take advantage of our close proximity to the cycle trails that lead to stunning scenery and local wineries – we even have 3 bikes available for hire at just $30 per day, per bike. You're also just a short walk away from the Clive river and beach, where you can take in the breathtaking natural beauty of the area.

Stroll down to the local pub, cafe or restaurant if you don't feel like cooking, and enjoy the atmosphere of our local village.

We provide all the essentials, including linen, tea, coffee, milk, oil, salt, and pepper, and our cleaning service is included in the cost of your stay.

Please note that our cottage is not suitable for children, but we welcome adults looking for a peaceful retreat. If you have any special requests or needs during your stay, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Sue and Mark are excellent hosts and the cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped with everything we needed, plus more for our stay. We loved that we could access the cycle trail behind the cottage and the township of Clive is also very central to the wineries and Cape Kidnappers etc. We would definitely recommend and would love to come back and stay again one day. Perfect accomodation for our family weekend

Riverside Cottage is a true standout. This place is pure quality, with a prime location just north of Havelock North and Hastings, and a quick hop to Napier and Taradale. It's a five-star stay all the way, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Our host, Sue, was a legend—super helpful and made sure we were completely happy. A top-class spot for a top-class holiday!

We loved staying here. There was everything we need but is often missing at baches. Well equipped kitchen, decent sized rubbish bin, comfy places to sit, lots of pillows and towels … and more. Really appreciated the thought that has gone into this home.

Great spot to stay

Property selected because of proximity to where another member of family lives. Loved the location and proximity to river walk, cycle way. All facilities worked well for us. Will happily use for future visits to the area.

Lovely place to stay in Hawkes Bay

River Cottage is a delightful base to stay while in Hawkes Bay. The cottage is comfortable and was supremely clean when we arrived. Sue welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. The proximity to the river is a real bonus for early evening strolls. Clive has good facilities. We can recommend the hotel and the Thai restaurant. Easy to get to Napier and other areas.

Fabulous

Well presented, small dwelling, which was perfect for our short trip to Hawkes Bay. Sue is really easy to deal with and the property is very well presented. Location is fabulous backing onto the riverside walkway. Would book again next time.

Clive Riverside Cottage

It was a convenient base to visit multiple places in Hawkes Bay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and our hosts friendly and helpful. Favourite aspects would be the direct access through the back gate to the Clive River walkway and the little seat to sit and watch the goldfish in the pond.

We loved staying in the cottage . It was a very peaceful and quiet setting . I loved sitting on the bench looking at the fish in the pond . My husband liked that it was on the cycle trail .Beds were super comfy had a good sleep both nights . Also nice to watch all the bird life in the garden . We hope to come back again .

This is a splendid place for a visit to Napier. Excellent facilities, both within the house and outside towards the garden and a very helpful host and hostess. We would have happily stayed on for a few more days. Highly recommended!

Great stay

We stayed at the Riverside Cottage for 4 nights - Sue and her husband were lovely hosts. They were very welcoming and then left us be for the majority of our stay - perfect host behaviour. The cabin is adjacent to their garden but we never felt overlooked and found the accommodation very private. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with the basics for cooking, and the shower great. The property was also right in Clive so we could access coffee and a foursquare with a very short walk. Overall we had a great stay.

Lovely garden cottage

Convenient location to vineyards, clean and well-kept property and cottage. Loved the towel warmer and exquisitely comfortable beds. Lovely walking path straight from cottage to nearby bay. Stunning. Very welcoming and easy to communicate with. The owners left a personalized welcome sign which was very much appreciated.

River Cottage Clive NZ

A very convenient location and easy access for the Hawks Bay Area. A clean quiet private and comfortable cottage with all of the amenities we needed. The bed very comfy bed with quality linen Easy back gate access to walking trails along the river and to the local shops which supplied all of our needs. Mark and I have grown up in Hawkes Bay and have made our house in Clive our home for 30 years. The cottage was built for our 2 sons whom have now left home. We enjoy meeting people and helping them have fun so we decided to have guests to stay.

Why they chose this property

We love the rural feel of Clive, and it's close proximity to town if you need to pop in for something. The native garden is our sanctuary and we enjoy all the bird life it brings.

What makes this property unique

Situated between Napier and Hastings this property is in the heart of Bay. Local wineries and cycle tracks make this place unique. Scenic rural feel, and only 10 mins from a city.
