Cape South Homestead - Character Homestead in a beautiful country setting
The Homestead at Cape South is a beautiful, graciously designed French colonial-style homestead set within 16 acres of gardens and grounds. It is located within 10 minutes of beautiful sandy beaches and bush reserves, has a swimming pool, spa pool and infrared sauna. There is plenty of room to relax & enjoy the property, while also providing plenty of opportunities for activities & exploring the area.
The Homestead accommodation is warm & welcoming, spacious and elegantly appointed, and beautifully furnished in keeping with the style of the house. The heart of the house is a large open plan kitchen, with butlers pantry, a dining table & living area around a wood burner. Through this room is the formal dining room, and beside that a huge formal living room, with lovely comfortable sofas & an open fire.
Each of the 6 ensuite rooms are very large and all open onto a generous verandah that surrounds the entire homestead. All are beautifully styled, and very warm & cosy. Four of these bedrooms have super king beds which can be split, providing lots of flexibility regarding configuration. The 7th bedroom in the house is a snug, off the kitchen living area, with a single bed. This bed can be moved to make a triple in one of the other bedrooms if preferred.
There are plenty of private spaces with the property, and the homestead lends itself well three-generation family gatherings or the celebration of special occasions with friends. It is also ideal for corporate groups as many of the beds can be split.
The Cape South Estate includes a magnesium-salt swimming pool, a spa pool, a gym, and an infrared sauna, all which you are welcome to use. There is a separate 2 bedroom cottage beside the homestead, and if this is rented during your stay the facilities will be shared. If you wish for exclusive use of the estate, this can be discussed.
There is also a yoga studio on site, which can also be set up as a meeting or board room. This can be made available at an addition cost.
Catering can also be arranged.
Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$300.00 per stay); Linen (included); Yoga studio NZ$100 per day)

It’s a beautiful and quiet house suitable for a big family or several couples.
This house is huge and very quiet. The manager is very friendly and nice to deal with, making our stay even more enjoyable. The swimming pool was the highlight for children and adults to enjoy. Great.

It is delight watching extended family groups enjoy our property so much. The expansive rooms and en-suite bathrooms are enjoyed by those wanting their own space; and the lounge and dining areas are large enough to accommodate everyone for get togethers.
Beautiful property, quiet, cozy and close to Havelock North
We stayed at this amazing property with our family. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery and loved our time here. Lots of room and it was super cosy and quiet. Cam and Kate were really easy and great to deal with. We would stay here again!

We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us! Please come back again soon
Gorgeous quiet spot with ample space. This place is huge! We didn’t use half the spaces - (formal dining and lounge) as opted to sit and eat outside and enjoy the view. Misunderstood the listing and didn’t realise there would be other people in the cottage beside the homestead sharing the pool and spa facilities. Thought it was an optional add on if the number of people required the extra space. Would stay again.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, yes the property is huge! Please come back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Property had great space for a large group allowing for individual space and large enough rooms for everyone to gather. Great facilities. Luxurious enough without feeling uncomfortable and pretentious.
We had a great stay.
Organised a chef to come in and cook for us on the Saturday which was a real treat.

About the host
Hosted by inneswill
The original Cape South Homestead was moved to the property in 2003. The present owners bought it in 2015, and Kate and Cam moved into Cape South early in 2020 primarily to offer yoga and wellness retreats at Cape South. They continue to run these retreats at the property, but also make it available for rental. They feel a deep connection to this property & love to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
Cape South sits quietly amidst the rural Waipuka hills. The roar of the surf, birdcalls from korimako, riroriro, tui and magpie are our usual chorus, and we seldom hear vehicles. There are 16-acres of manicured gardens, herb gardens, vege gardens, and steep wild eucalyptus plantations to explore. The beautiful magnesium-salt swimming pool, hot tub, infra-red sauna, gym and fully-equipped yoga studio add immense value to anyone's stay. There is always something for our guests to explore. Most guests arrive with ideas of making excursions to nearby attractions, but many arrive and don't want to return to their cars until they leave.
What makes this property unique
The location is perfect, being 10 minutes from fabulous beaches, with lovely walks nearby but also being just 15 minutes from the buzz of Havelock North village. There are wineries & restaurants to enjoy, as well as plenty of space to just relax & enjoy the property. There are plenty of private spaces and the homestead lends itself well three-generation family gatherings or the celebration of special occasions with friends.
