There are lounge chairs, a patio table for four, and a premium barbecue on the balcony. Inside, the living room, dining area and kitchen are open concept. The living room has an electric reclining leather couch and love seat, a propane fireplace, and a 60" smart TV.
The dining area has a beautiful table that seats four. The spacious kitchen features a large island with 3 bar stools, a gas range stove, modern appliances, generous counter/cupboard space, and a dishwasher.

*There is a private bottom suite for owners: Please note we are not there much during this time of year, and it will likely just be you and your crew. If we do plan on being there, we will inform you.
The only shared part between the two suites is the driveway.
Other things to note:
Power Outages:
Power outages are part of the charm in Jordan River, especially during stormy winter months. If the power goes out, don’t worry—bottled water is stocked in the kitchen, and the propane stove and propane fireplace will keep you cozy and well-fed while you wait for the lights to return. With no power there is no Wi-Fi, it’s a chance to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Cell Phones:
Cell service is limited to the local towers which are operated by Rogers. Please be aware of roaming charges while in the area.
Groceries, Gas & Supplies:
Sooke, BC: Last stop for gas, groceries, and supplies, it's about 30-35 minutes away from our place. We do offer coffee, cooking oils and spices. Its best to bring your groceries out on the way, especially if you’re getting in late.
Septic System:
This property is on a septic system, so guests should avoid flushing sanitary napkins or paper towels down the toilet.
The numerous beaches and hiking trails are just minutes away.

About the host
Hosted by Kaolin and Amanda Pickett

Welcome to our house! We've travelled far and wide, but nowhere has captured our hearts like Vancouver Island. The rugged coastline, wild nature, and down-to-earth vibe make this place truly special. We spent a couple of decades living in Jordan River and know the area well. We're always available to help via text or email if you need anything.
We're happy to share our local knowledge.

Why they chose this property
We chose Jordan River because it offers a rare kind of peace, the kind that only comes from being surrounded by nature. Tucked between the forest and the ocean on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island, this quiet community gives us the space to slow down and reconnect with what really matters.
Life here is shaped by the rhythm of the waves, the call of eagles, and the endless beauty of the wild. Whether it's walking along the beach at sunset, surfing in the morning mist, or simply watching the rain roll in from the Pacific, Jordan River offers a deep sense of calm and connection.
It's remote enough to feel like a retreat, yet close enough to Sooke or Victoria for day trips, groceries, or a night out. But honestly, once you're here it's hard to want to leave.
