We loved staying at the Doolittle. The view from the front porch is excellent and the sound coming from the river was so peaceful. We loved using the fire pit, the grill and the hot tub. There are some great hiking trails as well. This cabin was a perfect get-away for our vacation. We will be back.

"That's what we love to hear!!".....our sentiments exactly in reading your review. So thank you! We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We'll be looking forward to your next booking!
The cabin is exactly as seen in the photos, only pictures just don't bring it to life enough to stress how amazing this cabin is. The view overlooking the river is amazing, and you can hear the river from open windows and the porch. A/C keeps it comfortable during high heat and humidity, but open windows and ceiling fans are so nice when it’s more temperate. On the porch, the table seating is great for meals and working (if you must), and ceiling fans are great there too! 3 BR/3BA on separate floors adds extra privacy when traveling. The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. The hot tub was so nice and clean, and 2 robes in each bedroom was an appreciated touch. All bedrooms and bathrooms are large with closets/hangars, dresser, linens, and multiple beach towels. The fire pit is wonderful, bring your own camp chairs for comfortable seating. The trails right on the property are well marked and have well thought out placements of small benches to rest or take in the woods. Phyllis was quick to respond to any concerns. Highlights: Relaxing on the porch, walking trails, Mad Co Tubing (Lindsay & John), Star Tacos, Mad Co pizza, and waterfalls in Pisgah National Forest. Highly Recommend! Note: try not to arrive in the dark, the driveway switchbacks are no joke but manageable.

Thank you for the absolutely wonderful review! We are so glad you folks enjoyed your stay and explored our special little town of Marshall. Hopefully, you will come back to visit with us again someday.
This is everything you'd dream of in a mountain cabin. Breath-taking views including the French Broad River below. Host was great as well. Only tip would be try to first arrive during daylight to see the road up to the cabin better. We got used to it quickly but it's definitely steep. Cabin was very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Loved the cabin! Very cozy! Had everything you would ever need. Only missing was directions for TV… it’s a bit different than our systems here in Florida. Property gorgeous, views amazing! Hot tub was wonderful! Host checked in with us right after we accessed the cabin!
So glad we booked this cabin, it met all of our expectations! Beautiful views, quiet and private property, very clean, nice gas fireplace, comfy beds, great showers, fast WiFi and the hot tub was the best!
We loved our stay here. The scenery, the trails, the stream - everything was perfectly stunning. The cabin was spotless, they had plenty of linens, blankets, even robes. We had a great mountain getaway.
This was THE mountain cabin dream home we hoped it would be and more. Gorgeous views from every angle. You can see and hear the French Broad River from the master suite and multiple locations on the property. Our family had fun hiking around the property and there were multiple little marked trails. One recommendation to future renters is try to arrive the first time during daylight. It is a true mountain cabin and the road up is fairly narrow with tight turns and steep drops which was a little freaky in the dark. Luckily we brought a flashlight which helped the first time up. Once you get up there though it's totally worth it for the amazing views. The host was super helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
This cabin and property was perfect for a peaceful getaway from the city! The front deck has the perfect view of the river. We also enjoyed the trail loops and the fire pit.
We had a wonderful time at the Doolittle cabin. The view is incredible, all the bedrooms and amenities are clean and inviting, we made use of the fire pit, hot tub and short hiking paths around the property. It is also a great location for fishing, visiting breweries in Asheville, and hiking. Great vacation and would definitely recommend to others!
Very private and nice property. Beautiful view of the river below. Close proximity to great grocery store - Ingels. About 25 min to Asheville.
Really enjoyed with our family of 5.
