Nice, quiet area! Lots of space, comfortable beds, enjoyed the sunroom overlooking the pond. Great views from the front porch. We didn't see Hershey the donkey on the property. Kitchen was well equipped. Had great food at Blue Mountain Pizza, Twisted Laurel and Yellow Mug Coffee in town. We didn't want to leave!
We had a wonderful time here! We could have stayed on the front porch drinking coffee all day. The view was beautiful, beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!

From the owner:"The front porch is my favorite. Thank you for staying with us."
Loved our stay here...great location that is completely private and secluded yet just a short drive from everything. The home is cozy, interesting, and well-equipped. Spectacular views. We even enjoyed cherries fresh off the tree in the orchard. Looking forward to returning in the future.

My family had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. It was spacious, clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. We all fell in love with Hershey the Resident Donkey! Looking forward to coming back one day soon!
Absolutely had a great visit. Son was home on leave and gave us a chance to spend time with him without all of the daily distractions.
Listing was very accurate and home was clean and neat
Hopefully will go back again in the future

We enjoyed a wonderful stay for a few days over Spring Break. The house was lovely and clean! The view was beautiful and location was close for day adventures around the area. Hershey, the donkey, was so sweet and we loved feeding him afternoon treats. Can't wait to come back!

Our stay was so relaxing. The place was just as pictured and clean. Comfy bed. Loved the quiet location. My husband loved the fishing and I loved the library. We would love to visit again soon and relax in the hot tub. Hershey was great too.

The home was great, the location was awesome and secluded, and the activities and views on
the property were amazing. The kids loved feeding Hershey the Donkey, fishing in the pond and nights in the hot tub. We would definitely stay here again. Our family loved it and the 4 year old wanted to move here.

House stay
Hersey the donkey was adorable and a delight to feed. However, it is important to note that donkeys require at least one companion to support their mental and social well-being. He was on his own. The front patio was delightful. We saw some nice birds. It was nice to hear the frog at night as well. Hot tub was excellent.

From the owner: "Hi Jason, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay! Hershey has been a cherished part of our property for over 30 years. Sadly, his companion passed away 20 years ago. We have considered finding him a new companion, but Hershey has a deep bond with this home and the surrounding environment. Thank you for sharing your experience."
My wife and I celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to a
Asheville, and chose this property as our home base. It was perfect.
Great amenities in the house. Also, a location just far enough out of town for privacy, but close enough to easily get anywhere we needed.
I cannot recommend this property highly enough!
Very well stocked home, even down to the “neigh nibblers” ti feed the resident donkey! He was sweet and made us smile! This was our first time in Weaverville and we really enjoyed it and were surprised at the convenience of the location!!!

This was a great family trip! We didn’t want to leave. We made the most of our time in the area (hiking, Biltmore, ziplining, eating), and this home was amazing. We were taken aback by the beauty of the property, the hiking trail, Hershey, the views, the hot tub - everything! Well stocked, with excellent accommodations! Thank you!!!

From the owner: “I am so glad you got to do so many of the things that are the best of the Smoky Mountains and Asheville. Come again."
Our family really enjoyed our stay! It was exactly as described. The beds were comfortable; as we also enjoyed the pond, sunsets on the porch, and Hershey, the donkey. We found him some pears from a tree on the property and he loved them! We look forward to booking the house again, as our daughter attends Mars Hill University and it's only about a 10 mile drive to the school.

From the Owner: "I am sure Hershey is ready for you to come back, I think you spoiled him. We are glad your stay went so well and we would love to have you return."
This was our second time staying at this property. We consider it our “home away from home” in the Asheville area. We have no complaints. The home is comfortable and well stocked. We always have a wonderful time. Our kids always look forward to seeing Hershey and having space to roam. We’ll be back soon!
Beautiful property! Amazing views and plenty of nature surrounding the house! Small bluegill fish in the pond. The donkey was super friendly and fun to watch. Only complaint was the gas grill didnt have any propane.
Vacationing in a 1-level home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in the Asheville region is not an easy find! Most vacation homes in the area are multi-story due to the lay of the land, so this checked all our stay boxes, including a lovely mountain view from the front porch rocking chairs. The beds were comfortable and the home was very tidy indoors. It was a very homey place to retreat.
We loved the house and location. Especially loved the donkey and nearby hiking trails. The only issues were that the hot tub water smelled really sour and needed to be cleaned. Also, there were dirty diapers in the bedroom trash can upon arrival. Other than that, great spot!
Such a beautiful property. Very well decorated. I’d love to know the history of this older home. So much charm. Very private, as it’s at the end of the road. The pond out back was very cool to hang around. The donkey was an added coolness. The hot tub was divine. The house is just loaded with charm and very welcoming. I will definitely be staying here again when visiting family in Asheville.

From the Owner: "This is the home my husband grew up in and his parents purchased it from two older single ladies about 1962, at that time it was just the front two rooms. His dad built the pond and cleared the front meadow. Many family memories in that home and on that mountain. I am glad you enjoyed this historic property."
