About this property
A superbly located House with sublime views over the National Park + ocean
The house is a carefully modified 1960s hideaway superbly located on the ridge of Bundeena on the edge of the Royal National Park. Seating nooks and bay windows enable visitors to inhabit the house in different ways at different times of the day, with the expansive bush and ocean views and bird song as a perennial visual and aural setting. Kitchen, bathrooms and beds are all recently rejuvenated. Walk to Jibbon Beach through the Angophora forest in 12 minutes or the Coastal Walking Track in 5. Very relaxing.
It is like a front row seat at the theatre of the national park, where the main actors are the birds.
One long living, dining and kitchen room extends along and overlooks the bush garden and national park edge. 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms (with views to the courtyard and front garden) sit behind. Built-in window seats provide plenty of cosy nooks for sitting, reading and relaxing.
A courtyard on the street side has a small bbq. A thicket of street trees and a period piece breeze block wall ensure complete privacy. Both the front and back yard have been largely rebuilt and replanted with endemic native species. Concrete, cut and sourced from the old house has been recycled into paving, garden and retaining walls. The birds are starting to graze through the garden on a daily basis.
