We had a wonderful stay overall and would absolutely recommend this property. It was exceptionally clean and clearly well cared for. The hosts truly went above and beyond by including thoughtful little touches for guests, which made the stay feel extra special. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and we especially loved the vanilla syrup — such a fun and unexpected touch. The location offered easy access to all the places we wanted to visit, making it very convenient for exploring the area. The beds were super comfortable, and we all slept great. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use the fire pit due to inclement weather, but it was so thoughtful to see a bundle of wood already placed there for us just in case. We would gladly return in the future.

Relaxing Getaway in the Perfect Location - Couldn’t Have Asked for a Better Stay!

Our stay here was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had every amenity we could possibly need. It truly felt like a home away from home.The attention to detail was amazing—from the cozy touches throughout the space to the thoughtful extras that made our stay even more comfortable.All the little touches, like the bottle of wine waiting for us, the stocked coffee bar, the little candy jar, made everything feel so special and thoughtful. The location was perfect as well—quiet and relaxing, yet still close to everything we wanted to do. JB's on the Water had an excellent brunch. Beautiful Newport was a very quick drive away. Plenty of local spots and activities to explore!Our host was fantastic—responsive, kind, and clearly committed to making sure guests have a great experience. Check-in was seamless, and we felt well taken care of the entire time.We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

A perfect getaway location!We had a short weekend away wish it was longer there is so much to see and do in Rhode Island. Jamestown is a great location easy to get to Newport,Narragansett,Westerly countless restaurants and bars to explore even in the middle of winter. We enjoyed the quick trip up to Gooseneck Vineyards and dinner at The Red Parrot suggested by our hosts and were so happy with both choices Check-in/out was simple great communication via email made everything streamlined.The house is clean and comfortable just as the pictures show. Plenty of small touches that make you feel welcomed including a welcome basket with wine, snacks, a coffee bar and even extra amenities in the bathroom for those forgetful guests 😉. The kitchen has everything you need to cook all your meals air fryer crockpot blender etc.Such a great deal less than most hotels in the area, already planning a trip back during the summer to sit by the fire pit and walk to the beach!

10/10 HIDDEN GEM: Modern Comfort and the BEST Sleep!

Capstan Cottage blends modern class with nautical coastal comfort in a way that is so tasteful you feel both laid back and a bit spoiled. You get the comforts of home paired with the high-end upgrades you want on vacation. Perfectly located near a variety of attractions, it is ideal for travelers of all ages, interests and abilities. The neighborhood is peaceful, safe and friendly (the neighbors wave as you pass by). The hosts were excellent communicators. Thanks to their proactive approach (and the well-lit walkway), late check-in was a breeze. Clean Curated Coastal ComfortsInside, the home instantly felt welcoming. The fireplace, along with the open floor plan and the coastal/nautical decor, made the living room and kitchen feel spacious. On the counter was a nice welcome basket with water, wine, and snacks. Alongside that was a very helpful info binder full of local tips. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the complimentary K-Cups, creamers, and sugar were a NICE TOUCH! All the rooms were spotless and echoed the coastal theme. I enjoyed the large shower and water pressure, while my girlfriend was impressed by how the mermaid motif was used, keeping on theme but elevated. The Standout Feature THE BED!!! The bed was THE STANDOUT feature! I had the best sleep I’ve had in years. I ordered a new mattress topper for home before we even checked out.Multifunctional Finished BasementThe finished basement was impressive, offering another sitting area, an electric fireplace, a TV, and board games. The couch pulls out to a bed, so this area could easily accommodate another couple or children. There was a laundry room and another full bathroom on this level. Having a kitchen table and a second Keurig in the basement is a masterclass in guest hospitality—no need to juggle hot coffee on the stairs.Unbeatable LocationJust a short drive to downtown Jamestown, the relaxed little coastal village with locally owned shops, bakery/cafés, and restaurants. Close to Newport, Narragansett and Wickford Village- a favorite spot of ours. If you’re looking for a quiet reading spot, a yard for kids to play, a fire pit to roast marshmallows, or a home base to explore the multitude of local attractions, I highly recommend Capstan Cottage!Top-Tier ExperienceIt’s rare to find hosts who prioritize the guest’s experience and anticipate every logistical need this effectively. They considered everything, making for the most enjoyable getaway possible.
