About this property

Adorable Oceanfront Tiny Home 30 minutes from Yarmouth

Come stay in our beautiful tiny home that is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, There are multiple decks for you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Spend the afternoon lying in the hammock reading a book or using the watercraft. We have a canoe, kayak, and two paddle boards and provide life jackets. The tiny home has a lazy boy sofa bed. Guests tell me they have the most wonderful sleep with the quiet and the comfy sofa bed. We offer the best of linens and towels, Multiple bbqs are on the property depending which deck you choose to relax for the evening. There are also two fire pits one nestled in the woods and one on a patio with a great big ocean view. We are located on an island (don’t worry there is a bridge) that is a bird sanctuary, So you can try a little bird watching if you like, We have a croquet set if you want to spend the afternoon having fun and the cottage has books and games for rainy days.

Tusket is is 15 minute drive from us where there is a combined grocery/liquor/and hardware store (Carl’s Store). If you need anything they usually have it, Also in Tusket is a great thrift store which is always fun, a craft brewery (Tusket Falls Brewery), they make delicious food and specialize in the best burgers you will ever have, There is also another restaurant in Tusket called Wild Roots, Their chef is amazing, your won’t be disappointed. For you star gazers, you will find an observatory in Tusket. We have guest go to this and the raved about it. Here is the link: https://www.deepskyeye.com/

Yarmouth is a half hour away, where Main Street has the best shopping. You can choose from beautiful clothing stores (some of my favourites), gift shops, specialty gaming shops, a British Woollen Store and multiple antique stores. There are lots of places to eat in Yarmouth, but Rudders is the one we prefer with lots of fresh seafood. Again, they make make their own craft beer, but my favourite is the Dill Pickle Caesar it’s so good! You can eat in the restaurant or on the beautiful deck overlooking Yarmouth Harbour, Again, if you like tasting craft beer you can visit Heritage Brewery; which is located on Main Street as well, My husband likes to hang out there while I shop. If you would like to get a little exercise after all the food I recommend a hike to Bunkers Island which is about 4-5 km depending where you start. A visit to Cape Forchu is a must with panoramic views that are stunning. There are also multiple spas where you can pamper yourself. My favourite is Jade Therapy. Here is the link: https://jadetherapies.com/ So, come visit us! There is lots to do if you want or you can just hang out at the cottage and enjoy the view and tranquility.

Host profile image

I was an Air BNB Superhost for almost 3 years. I had 3 listings on their platform and a consistent rating of above 4.8. This meant a lot to me and I had positive feedback back on locations, cleanliness, all my special extras and the guest overall experience. Recently we had a very difficult guest, who misrepresented herself upon booking and subsequently broke all the house rules and damaged furniture and stole linens and towels. I spent many hours providing proof that the guest, indeed, did what I told them she did. To my dismay they refunded the guest for her two night stay and provided me with zero support or recourse. I was their Superhost and was left feeling lost and without someone having my back. Anyway, I loved hosting my guests. I actually cancelled all my reservations and left the Air BNB platform. Just couldn’t ever do business with them again. Then I had a lovely past guest who stayed with us last summer for a month who wanted to book again this summer. I thought I want to do this and I’m great at it! I chose VRBO for my new platform and look forward to hosting again. Sometimes you have to go with your heart. I am aiming for 99% great reviews, there is always someone who you can’t please. This time I am going to continue to give it my all. I think VRBO has a great user friendly platform and I already had amazing host services from their dedicated team.

Anyway, that’s how I got here and why I look forward to continuing hosting so many wonderful people.

Why they chose this property

We built the tiny home for our own use. We have a large home in Bedford and decided upon retirement we would move into the tiny home. It’s so beautiful on the ocean. We tried it for almost a year and quickly realized it’s beautiful and so fun, but we needed something a little bigger. We had the opportunity to buy the property property next store. It has a little beach that’s rocky where we can launch water craft or have a bonfire and it increased our property from 2 to 3 acres, which guest have full access to and yet privacy on the original lot. We are loving it here. We spend our days clearing trees in the woods, splitting and stacking and renovating our cute cottage. I have been gardening and I enjoy walks on the island, reading and meditation. We really feel we made the best decision of our lives. Friends and guests tell us the minute they pull down the driveway and see the beautiful blue ocean, they feel a calm come over them. That is how my husband of 37 years (Tom) and I feel every day thanks to our “happy place” and we would love for you to visit Morris Island and experience the magic just as we do.

What makes this property unique

Expansive ocean frontage, fully equipped tiny home with luxury sheets, towels and finishes. Just pack your overnight bag and you are all set. We have multiple decks and sitting areas, fire pits, a hammock and 2 bbqs! Of course you can’t forget the sunrise. It’s so beautiful almost everyday s jump out of bed and I am compelled to take a picture. There is also lots lots to do nearby if you choose. Most days we don’t want to leave at all. Rest assured your cottage is completely private from ours separated by woods. There is a walking path through the woods for guests to enjoy the little beach and water sports on our little slice of the pie.
