My family really enjoyed our time at this clean, cozy A-frame. The house itself is charmign and well-apppointed. It had everything we needed but also felt uncluttered and simple. The surrounding property is beautiful and quiet with winding hiking trails and a small stream. We loved that we couldn't see any neighboring houses: just trees and snow. We would definitely return.
Very cute and quiet location! Cabin has everything ine would need! Plenty of parking, and there are trails throughout the property. Its in the perfect spot, only 18 minutes from town.
Our stay in this cute A-frame in Vermont for our honeymoon was absolutely magical. The cabin was nestled in a picturesque, wooded area, offering privacy. The cozy interior made for a perfect getaway. We spent our days exploring the nearby hiking trails and visiting Wilmington. Evenings were spent relaxing, stargazing, and unwinding in the serene environment. It was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, making for a great week.
Second time staying at the A frame. The house is super clean, modern and cozy. Loved the back yard with the fire pit. Close to town and minutes from great places to kayak.
Had an absolutely wonderful time at The Place to Be! An absoultely lovely home kept immaculately clean for guests. Check-in/check-out was super easy, great communication all-around from Diane. Would stay again, for sure!
The A-frame was the perfect spot for our long weekend getaway to Whitingham. We loved being in the middle of nowhere and the private house had plenty of space and natural light. This is a great location for hiking and trail running in the Green Mountains and there is no shortage of amazing dirt roads for gravel cycling. Also a very short drive to Thunder Mountain MTB park. We would definitely stay here again.
The house is absolutely the best place we have ever stayed in Vermont. It has so many hooks for snowboarding gear which is a must, great to have a washer and dryer. Super clean, very well stocked kitchen, beds really comfortable. My boys loved the upstairs area just being their bedrooms.
Having all the DVDs in the otterman was a great idea great for family time after dinner to watch some really good old movies.
This property was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Diane was a great host and her communication with check in/check out details were excellent. The cabin was very well stocked and there was great attention to detail for guests. It was a short drive to Mt. Snow or nearby restaurants. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
The house is super nice, cozy and clean! Communication with the owner was amazing. It was the perfect little get away before our newest member of the family arrived!
We loved the house and the property. The dogs had a great time.We will definitely be back. Diane was very responsive and friendly. I slept so well on the downstairs bed that I ordered the same mattress when we got home.We always had cell service. It was nice to just walk the trails on the property, or throw the balls to the dogs out back. Highly recommend this place !
Easy process, relaxing, comfortable and clean. Staying at The Place to Be was a joy for my husband and I, and my very energetic dog duke! We went on early morning walks where my dog sniffed out some grouse, cooked great meals, hiked, and explored Wilmington. Would highly recomend!
Property was beautiful, private, and clean! This was the perfect spot for our family to get away for a few days! The house had everything we needed and the owner was very easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again!
Great space to relax and unwind! Perfect set up for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The space is well stocked and well maintained. Very secluded, peaceful and quiet.
The space was cozy, while still having plenty of room. We had everything we needed to cook, the bed was incredibly comfy, the bathroom was very nice, and the shower had excellent water pressure and temperature. The space was also impeccably clean.
Diane's "Place to Be" cabin was perfect for Memorial Day Weekend with three kids and a dog. The cabin is well appointed, new, clean, and easy to find. The long driveway provides a lot of privacy with only the deer and animals as you neighbor. Only 15-20 into Wilmington for groceries, restaurants etc. Highly recommend Starfire bakery and 1a Coffee. Diane was great to work with, easy to communicate with, and very clear about check-in, check-out, etc. I would highly recommend and would visit again
My family and I spent 4 nights here and it was perfect. We are two adults and 2 children (3 and 6) and there was plenty of space and everything we needed. It would easily accommodate a family of 6 and not feel overcrowded. We used the outdoor firepit every evening and enjoyed playing in the yard. For anyone who is competitive, can you run around the house in less than 13 seconds?
Despite it being mud season (April), we did find a few hikes to do and enjoyed Pelham Lake Park, Harriman Reservoir, and the views from Hogback Mountain. We shopped at Shaw's in Wilmington (15 mins north).
We hope to visit again soon.
Its been an abysmal winter in NJ, so I booked a quick escape for me and my two labs to get a real taste of winter in the perfect cabin in Vermont. I was surprised at how charming and modern the cabin was, and the vast property was great fun for my dogs, as we snowwhoed right on the property. The house is well suppllied, dog friendly, with clear labeled instructions throughout, and a hefty binder laying out things to do. Besides the outdoorsy stuff, we enjoyed plenty of Vermon charm by going into town, visiting the many dog friendly stroes, eating great pizza, and sampling microbrews. Perfect Winter Retreat!
