I must say, this rental was fantastic. It met all of our criteria. Comfortable beds and pillows (sheets were a little scratchy- according to my mom, but I thought were fine) - which is always a relief when renting a place short term. Our rooms were large with easy to organize oneself closets and enough plugs for electronics. Each room also had a very well functioning fan - which we needed considering the hot weather. Bathrooms. 1.5 upstairs with the bedrooms, so even if one person was in shower, you conveniently could use the other without going up or down stairs. Of course, if you were downstairs , another clean powder room was convenient on main floor. Very good for people who struggle with stairs. Kitchen: the knives were sharp, the glasses were real and plentiful and of a quality where you actually enjoy drinking from them (again, often not the case with rentals). We used both “living rooms “ on main floor depending on time of day and mood. We did worry about white couches though and commented on these every time we sat on them. We enjoyed the upstairs patio in the evening until the mosquitoes chased us inside. (We did not use the back patio or lawn). The location was convenient and walking distance to almost every thing. We would have liked a full length mirror somewhere. There were small mirrors in the bathrooms and another in back living room but all were upper torso height.Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

My name is Julia, I grew up in Halifax and spent my summers in Mahone Bay. My husband is from Ireland and we have a little 2-year old son. My husband works in the America's Cup world for the Italian team Luna Rossa. While we're in Italy we are renting out our newly restored and decorated home.

Why they chose this property

My folks live in Chester and we adore the village. We believe it's a very special little part of the world full of friendly people and beautiful scenery. We're a family of sailors and boaters so it's the perfect location to enjoy time on the water.

What makes this property unique

Seaglass House is over 150 years old and we have recently redecorated from top to bottom. The house has lots of beautiful little touches from the past while still being modern and functional. The top deck is a beautiful place to enjoy coffee with a view in the morning or soak up some sun. The downstairs terrace is ideal for an al fresco meal cooked on the BBQ. This is a special home with lots of character and we've made sure it's extremely comfortable for anyone staying. We hope you enjoy your time at Seaglass House.
