We loved staying at Lisa and John's home. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a quiet weekend with family. The home is beautifully furnished, and Lisa was a gracious and generous host. We would definitely stay there again.

Thank you Gayle, you were a great guest! Hope to host you again :)
We had a great time. The views are spectacular. The house is lovely and very comfortable. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here.
What a beautiful property for 6 of us special needs mommas to retreat to. Amazing views with a cup of coffee in the morning to a glass of wine sitting around the fire pit at night. Truly a special spot.
This is a delightful home in the hills above Santa Barbara. The outdoor spaces are a nice bonus to the lovely and comfortable interior.
All bedrooms have modern and comfortable decor with a view and including beautiful houseplants in every room.
The views are nothing short of spectacular. I spent one peaceful afternoon just sitting outside with no desire to leave :-)
This is a personal second home... well maintained with property management close by.
The photos are accurate. I would book this any day over 3 hotels rooms.
You will not be dissapointed.
My girlfriends and I truly enjoyed a much-needed getaway at this beautiful, clean home with amazing views. We loved spending quality time in all the outdoor spaces. The house has everything you need including Nespresso & Keurig machines! Lisa was thorough and quick to respond to my questions. Careful: Steep driveway! Highly recommend changing gears when pulling up. Suggestions: Replace the living room down sofa (feathers poke out & stick to your clothes) Thank you very much!

Thanks so much Elizabeth and yes on the couch I agree 100% and we JUST replaced it with a much bigger comfier one. May not be as stylish but MUCH better. I put a picture in the listing. :) I hated that couch...We'd love to host you again any time.
Our stay here was perfect. Lisa is a warm, caring host, who makes you feel like a member of her family. When we arrived, Lisa called us to make us feel welcome - she will also answer any question you have before you arrive.
The location is world class. It is on the Riviera and the ocean and city views are breathtaking. The neighborhood is so beautiful - you can walk nearby and see great architecture and several parks, plus the El Encanto Hotel for a meal or drinks.
The house is built to maximize the view from every room and there are several comfortable outdoor spaces to soak it all in, from dinner outside, to watching the city lights at night - several warm blankets are available to keep warm.
This property is ideal for a family or close friends; Lisa has created a relaxed, but elegant space to relax. It is very quiet and peaceful - you can see and hear the many birds that visit the beautiful plants in the yard. It is definitely not a party place, but a place to relax in in comfort in a great location.
Everything is town is no more than 10 minutes away, plus you are nearby great hiking and the Botanical gardens. We enjoyed great food, as well as many hikes and riding rented bikes by the beach. The amazing Mission is only 5 minutes away - we had a wonderful dinner there as the sun went down.
I grew up in Santa Barbara and visit at least once a year. I have found my home away from home and will stay here on future visits.
We love our stay at this beautiful home with our family of adult children and one little Bebe. Three spacious bedrooms, fully outfitted kitchen, multiple outdoor gathering areas to enjoy the view, and close proximity to downtown Santa Barbara. Thank you for renting to us! Hope to return soon!
The property had a fabulous view over the city with the ocean in the distance. The kitchen was very well stocked and the we enjoyed sitting on the different patios/decks. This was our second visit and we hope to return again.
This home is amazing! Every detail was thought of; coffee bar, wine in fridge to comfortable beds! The views from the decks are amazing. We will certainly come back!
This home is gorgeous and the views are amazing-better than the pictures! The hosts were very gracious leaving us a bottle of wine and many kitchen supplies. We would love to come back some day!
We were here for my son’s wedding weekend. The house was absolutely perfect. I especially loved all the outdoor patios and sitting areas. The inside was also very comfortable, great beds, well stocked kitchen, plenty of everything. Location cannot be beat. The views of the whole city and ocean from almost every room were stunning. We were on a high from the wedding, but I’m sure when I return (and I sincerely hope to) I will be equally impressed. Santa Barbara is perfect every time we visit- the weather and beauty of the city never disappoints. Staying here was the icing on the cake! Thank you for sharing your home.
A more charming house would be hard to find and the view can't be beaten.
Lisa's house had everything you could want on vacation. Comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, numerous sitting areas and a fire place to cozy up in front of on a chilly evening. The place was spotless, had strong wifi and was a quick 5 minute drive to town.
We will be back!
The home was a great fit for our trip — very relaxing and welcoming, with more than enough space for the 3 of us. Loved that it was close to downtown, yet far enough removed to see all the stars at night. The views are even more impressive in person!
Lisa and John’s beautiful home is a great spot for a girls trip! The house is well appointed and the views are breathtaking. The bedrooms are all lovely and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you can think of, and more! We felt like we were home, not in a rental property! Lisa was super responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The location is incredible! Franceschi Park is very close as is the Mission and the drive downtown is easy. You could walk it, but the walk back would be challenging. Yes, the driveway is steep. The first few times we had to pass the house and turn around to get the right angle, but after a couple of times it wasn’t an issue. Thank you Lisa and John for being great hosts! Hope to stay in your beautiful home again one day!
We loved our stay at this house and it had everything including wonderful views from the front deck and outdoor dining area. There were views from every bedroom and the living room/dining room and we enjoyed watching all the birds and the sunsets. We will definitely go back again.
Spectacular views from a beautiful indoor/outdoor home on the American Riviera
My mom, dad, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lisa and John's lovely home just before Labor Day weekend. Lisa was super responsive and helpful, including allowing us to check-in early. Upon arrival, we were delighted to have a chilled bottle of Santa Barbara winery Chardonnay on the dining room table and a sweet note welcoming us.
While we only used two of the three bedrooms, a group of six could easily stay and feel like each person/couple had private space. The house is a re-model of what was likely an original one - some of the charming door hardware is still in place. Lisa and John have done a wonderful job furnishing the four distinct outdoor areas, including a firepit with a view of the ocean and Santa Barbara, and a backyard area that has mature lemon and lime trees (thanks, we enjoyed the fruit!).
Inside, the furnishings are high-end bohemian chic. Super comfortable and luxurious. The entire house was so well-outfitted (including the kitchen) that we were always able to find what we needed. It really felt like home. The second bathroom is bright and airy, with a shower that feels like it's outside but is comfortably right inside.
Views are wonderful both during the day and evening. It's about an 8 min drive to downtown restaurants/galleries/breweries. The neighborhood is quiet in a good way. If you are ambitious, you could walk down-down-down to downtown but it would be a serious haul to get back up.
We are already looking forward to returning. Thank you, Lisa and John, for sharing your home and making our stay so memorable.
Well appointed house with lots of wonderful touches. Great views and exceptional outdoor spaces.
We found the driveway quite intimidating and believe that all wheel drive vehicles be suggested.
Great communication with the owner. Would love to stay again!!!
My family stay was better than expected. We were in town for a wedding at San Ysidro Ranch. The location was perfect, central for all of our wedding festivities. I would highly recommend staying in this beautiful home!
Our stay was wonderful, the house is perfect in terms of layout, decor, well stocked and the best view and patio.
We loved every minute and hated to leave!

About the host
Hosted by Casa Dulce
Welcome to our piece of paradise in Santa Barbara. Lisa went to college here many years ago and so far two of our 5 children are attending UCSB. We figured if we wanted to see them more we should just buy a place here! We live and work in hi tech in Silicon Valley but travel here as much as possible. This home is our lifelong dream so I hope you treat it as your own and feel as comfortable and peaceful as we do enjoying the unbelievable views. We are new to this rental experience so please be patient as we iron out any kinks. We are having a blast meeting new people and knowing our home can provide memories for all sorts of lovely families and couples.
Why they chose this property
Just sitting on the patio watching the birds through the binoculars or the boats in the harbor there is no way to feel anything but peace. I count down the days until I can visit Casa Dulce again.
