"Lots of love and history has been put into this charming rental cottage named Serendipity, as it is one of the original Sheridan Beach homes built back in 1942, that has been renovated and upgraded with top notch materials and an upstairs loft added on to create more space and a slight view of Lake Michigan!! All the thoughtful touches inside and out, plus the warmth and the cleanliness are what make for a comfortable place for all guests to relax and de-stress!
Start out the day soaking in the morning sun's energy in the front porch chairs with a cup of coffee, made fresh from the house coffee bar, or retreat to the back porch (off the master bedroom), to take in some calming meditation or yoga while listening to the distant sounds of the waves from Lake Michigan nearby. Lots of comfy, quiet places to get lost in your favorite book or find one from the vast collection that fills the shelves in the living room and 2 bedrooms. Curl up on the couch, in the master bedroom or upstairs in the cozy loft to enjoy movies or streaming from your Netflix or Amazon accounts on the 3 mounted TVs! Need to catch up on a little work while the kids watch a movie? There's a dedicated work space/desk up in the loft for your use. Okay, now that you've caught up on work and relaxing, it's time to venture out! Ready for a scenic bike ride around the cute neighborhood (beach cruiser bikes provided!)-OR a peaceful, nature walk down to the serene lakefront to collect pretty beach stones, and lots of cool driftwood- OR if weather is warm, pack a picnic lunch, cooler on wheels (1 provided!),grab the house beach wagon, fill it with beach towels, chairs and sand toys-(all provided!), to take a short stroll down to spend a lazy day at the best beach stops in Michigan City! Come back just in time (but not too soon!) to wash off the sand and prepare your evening meal in the fully- stocked kitchen,- OR if short on time from your lazy day at the beach, throw some hot dogs or burgers on the convenient gas grill, while the kids play games in the fully-fenced in backyard. Top off the day relaxing again, with your favorite beverages, maybe singing and laughing around the backyard fire pit, while the kids make smores for dessert!

Very friendly neighborhood with a mix of long term resident locals and short term visitors. Super-convenient, central location with 5-10 minute walk or drive to most everything MC is well known for ...The Indiana Dunes State Park, the Washington Park Zoo, Historic (1858) Michigan City Lighthouse and Pier, and of course, the beautiful Sheridan Beach along the shores of Lake Michigan! Lots to do in a short drive by car, whether in the mood for indoor or outdoor adventures! Lovers of shopping will go crazy at the Michigan City Lighthouse Place Premium Outlet Mall with 100 stores-OR for more unique finds, check out the different shops down in the Uptown Arts District of Franklin St! Lovers of outdoor adventures can check out Friendship Botanical Gardens, kayaking on Trail Creek, guided boat tours for fishing, sailing and sunset cruising, -OR head to the Indiana Dunes or Warren Dunes State Parks for swimming and climbing some of the natural sand dunes that are protected in our area.

Dune Billie's Breakfast & Lunch Cafe and Cool Runnings Jamaican Restaurant are both within walking distance from the cottage with Shoreline Brewery and Restaurant, Bridges Waterside Grille, Fiddle Heads, Leed's Public House, Galveston's Steak House, Bartlett's Fish Camp, Swingbelly's, Zorn Brew Works Co., Burn ‘Em Brewery, Matey's, Scartozzi's Trattoria, Miller's Pizza AND MORE all within a short drive!
