Great time

Had a wonderful short ski trip with family. Location was nice and the hot tub was much needed after hitting the slopes Only complaints would be a shortage of garbage bags and toilet paper

Nice family vacation

Plenty of room for everyone to stay. The firewood was all slabwood that was somewhat wet so we had a hard time building a fire, but other than that great visit. Close to Ohiopyle. Secluded on a back road. The dogs enjoyed it as well.

Family Getaway

The cabin was great! It was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday! It was very comfy and spacious. The beds were comfortable. We loved the large wooden bar to sit and play games. The cabin was close to different golf courses which was perfect for my husband.

Secluded and great location for foliage

We had a great time. The house could be updated a bit but everything is in working condition and it provides almost anything you might need. I wish the deposit would be smaller and returned faster.

Family Seven Springs Getaway

The house was just the right size for our family. The hot tub was great. Only negative thing I can say is that it was a little warm in the basement without air. But otherwise, we had a great time!

New Year 2024 cabin

We enjoyed the house. I gave 4 stars due to Great Room being somewhat smaller than we thought by viewing pictures. Also, kitchen was very small, but had amenites needed to cook. All in all, we had a great time. The house did workout for a weekend for our group. And the fact that most of group skied during the day at 7 Springs. Which is about 30 minutes from house.

Not new as advertised

The downstairs rooms smell of mold and mildew. The kitchen is extremely small. The hot tub water was cloudy and didn’t seem clean. Both bathrooms are on the main level, which was tricky for the kids in the middle of the night if they were sleeping upstairs or downstairs.

Served its purpose

The house was perfect for a ski weekend with friends, which is exactly what we were using it for. The communal space wasn't very large, but we were okay with being close! There were a few things that could have been slightly better. The house was freezing when we walked in and took about 2 hours to warm up with both the baseboard heat and fireplace. The downstairs bedroom area was very musty. The water in the back bathroom had little to no water pressure. And there was no wifi, which normally wouldnt be a problem but for the area a few of us didnt have cell service. Other than that, the weekend was fantastic and the cabin served its purpose.

Depends on what is important to you. Just okay.

Plenty of space for sleeping with five bedrooms. However, we rented the place for Thanksgiving and the kitchen is tiny, the oven had only one rack, all utensils, pans, and dishes though washed, were not clean, and the refrigerator was missing shelves and drawers. Food prep and storage was difficult. Lots of great firewood but no way we could find to clean massive pile up of ashes from previous renters. Vacuum and broom provided, we had to sweep when we arrived and when we left. Floors need to be cleaned with steam mop or wiped they were dirty. Fortunately ,we found a scarf ( not ours) melted into one of the base board heating units before a fire started. Lots of parking and nice big table/bar for our dinner. We were grateful that the owner did allow us to rent for just two days.

Disappointed

When you see the pictures, you think about how cute and quaint the cabin looks, but when the moment you enter, you are overwhelmed with smell. The stench of mold and mildew permeates the place. It disgustingly affects your ability to breathe. The hot tub's water was green and disgusting. No one sitting in it could see their legs. The beds were borderline unsleepable, they were so uncomfortable. This trip was beyond disappointing. We had to leave a day early because it was so unclean. If you value your health, Do not stay here unless it is for one night. And on a nitpicky note, the tv was 20 years old and the DVD player didn't work. Not that important but in the interest of full disclosure, it's true.

nothing amazing about this house

We rented originally the Falling Timber cabin but when we arrived the house was a mess, the front window was broken, the beds had used sheets, everything look old and disgusting; very dirty inside and outside. After calling several times (the owner hung up the phone 3 times... ) he finally told us to use this house. The experience was unhappy, the owner was very rude, but because the week rent was already paid in full we had no choice but to stay at the Mountainview. The queen bed was the worst ever, every night we fell in the middle hole of the mattress, the bed frame is broken and badly "fixed", the top bedrooms are very small and poorly decorated. We did not used the basement because the humidity smell. The slot machine, and pinball machine did not work and the washer and dryer are so old and loudly that was impossible to use... The cooking utensils, silverware and dishes were all from a different family... it remember me to the college days... In brief: not a place to recommend.

Relaxing Week in the Laurel Highlands

The property was as described; The photos are accurate. The hottub was a pleasure. TV's in almost every room and the one in the living room is huge. Quite a generous collection of DVD's and although they reflected rather mainstream titles (which is probably fine for the typical movie fan) I even found a few that I liked-- plenty for a relaxing week. Even some decent music CD's. The area is quiet-- far from civilization, even though there are plenty of neighbors. Don't go if you don't like driving through 12 miles of windy roads to get to civilization. The supermarket in Somerset is close enough if you run out of groceries. Roads are still under construction there as of September 2012, so you might have to do some extra driving, but we learned the route quickly. We went to the Flight 93 Memorial just 20 miles away which was a solemn experience. Also went to Pitssburgh Zoo and Aquarium, which was pretty much an all-day trip, but it's not that close-- took us about 80 minutes I think. Loved the zoo. This vacation was perfect for what I like to do, which is to read, relax, watch movies and enjoy my family. I also hiked 2-3x and found some good trails. Negatives were that the pinball machine wouldn't work for us, as somebody else had warned in a previous review, although I spent hours reading the manual and pushing the correct buttons-- no balls ever loaded. There's no dining room table so all meals are eaten at the bar, but it's a cute bar, and large. The caretaker stopped by to bring paper towels, which we laready had plenty of, but she was not able to advise us on fixing the pinball machine, either. The main overhead lights in both downstairs bedrooms were out. A screen was broken and kept falling out of the window on the side of the house. And not exactly a negative, but audial specters arrived each evening-- some kind of generator- or heater- or water-related anomaly that sounded EXACTLY like people were walking back and forth across the roof every evening. I feel like I got only a six-day stay for seven days' payment, which is my biggest complaint other than the pinball machine. The upstairs bedrooms are very small, with low ceilings (it's basically the loft) but the three main bedrooms were great. I would recommend this for summer use, which was the only season I visited. No AC, but you it wasn't needed-- the ceiling fans were adequate. If you like R & R and don't need to be near the bar scene, this might be your ticket..

Great rental needs a little tlc

This was an EXCELLENT venue for my 40th birthday weekend. The house is perfect for a fun weekend away. The kitchen has almost everything you need, except a sharp knife. Otherwise, you’re golden for kitchen stuff. The beds aren’t super comfy, but there are plenty of them and room to sleep. There were several spots that needed repairs: one of the bed frame wasn’t put together properly, the hot tub step was really wobbly, and there was a hole at the bottom of the back steps that was a little treacherous. Aside from a few minor issues, it was fantastic. We had an excellent time and I would recommend it to everyone.
