Peaceful Forested PA Mountain Stay

We had an overall great stay and would definitely recommend this place, but there were a few inconveniences that kept it from being a full 5 stars.Pros:-The host was super communicative, friendly, and quick to respond-Great location with a natural, peaceful feel. We did day trips to Pittsburgh and Ohiopyle State Park-Nice back patio space, we ate outside for every meal-Spacious layout with a good communal sleeping area-The basement was an awesome hangout spot with pool and air hockey tables-Dishwasher was a lifesaver! Cons:-The basement had a strong moldy/mildewy smell. A dehumidifier was running, but it was full when we arrived and filled up again the next day. If you have allergies (like I do) it would be rough-The water went out for about an hour during our stay-Only one functional pool cue (full-sized with a tip) and no chalk-Towels were limited — just enough for our group with no extras. We did laundry, so it worked out, but more would have been nice -Minimal cleaning supplies; we like to clean as we go but only found a Lysol air spray. We ended up buying a sponge since there was just an old scrub brush for dishes-One baking sheet was dirty on arrival with a sticky reddish residue-Microwave seemed faulty — it kept spinning and running when the door was open-No bath soap provided (just FYI)Overall, lovely spot with lots going for it. Just a few small improvements could make it a 5-star stay!

Awesome property!

Very nice home with everything you need. The host Kimberly is so kind and thought of everything. She made sure all the extras were there and available. It was so clean that I did not need to do my "pre cleaning" routine usually needed at rentals. We were very happy & had a wonderful trip!

Perfect getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this property, it was so comfortable and homely. We stayed with 4 of us in total and there was plenty of room for us to have our own space or spend time together, whichever it was we felt like. The property manager was quick to respond to any and all queries and made our stay seamless. Would definitely look to stay again if in the area.

Great weekend

This house was the perfect place for our yearly reunion. The large open kitchen/livingroom was perfect for our group and the basement was great to host everyone in one place while still having space to spread out! Highly reccomend.

Family Ski Trip

Perfect location for our family ski trip to Seven Springs and Hidden Valley. Excellent lay out for all 8 of us and the bonus of a hot tub and pool table made our weekend a blast. Very well stocked kitchen for cooking in and gas fireplaces to make it cozy. Loved it!!

Terrific House

Overall my group had a great experience renting this property for an extended weekend. It provided us with plenty of room and space. Everyone once they finished a tour upon arrival would just say things like "This is awesome" or "perfect". Communication with the renter was very open and positive nothing but kind things to say. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area!

Met every expectation!

It was easy access to multiple ski resorts so that we can enjoy a ski week with family. Upon returning from the slopes we relaxed in the Jacuzzi, played pool and had great family time. Even watched a few movies on the DVD there to watch. We cooked all our meals with the ample cooking appliances, Grilled steaks on the grill, and had plenty of comfortable beds to rest for the next day. The home was well kept and we felt at home. Thanks for an amazing week

A fun little getaway

It was a fun trip we all all enjoyed our time! The house was super clean! The property manager was super quick responding to any issues or questions we had. The place was more run down than pictured. Almost all the seating inside and outside had issues and or was broken. The air hockey table turned on but did not work, the pool table was well worn and so were the couches upstairs. The Hot tub was amazing and made everything worth it. Overall there were some updates needed to match the price being asked but we enjoyed our time there!

This house has the potential to be a nice place to stay with adequate space for our group of 7, but in all honesty, Kim will need to invest in some upgrades to make this a 4 or 5-star stay. We made some recommendations after & had an issue with what we believe now to be Pseudomonas, which is a hot tub rash, but for a time suspected bed bugs, which really freaked us out! Kim was immediately defensive, & even a bit hostile in our communications when we expressed our concern with the bite/rash that appeared on 5 out of 7 adults that were at her home. She refused to acknowledge our concerns. When we offer her constructed criticism about her place, she disregarded it as if we were attacking her. We simply wanted to make her aware of the areas ( which were quite a few) that she could improve for her place & for her future renters. One issue was the towels, they need to be upgraded as the ones she left for us are ready to be retired as rags ( thin & non-absorbent). Another suggestion was to provide separate beach towels for hot tub use. There were 7 of us & only 8 bath towels for our entire stay. We were not happy to have to use the same towel for bathing, use it again when getting out of the hot tub, and use it again for bathing after the hot tub. There is an option for more towels for a $50 charge. The beds are flimsy, they bend when you sit on the edge of them. Sitting was another issue that is an easy fix, there were no stools at the bar in the basement – so we brought a couple of stools & chairs from upstairs to sit at the bar & then brought them back up for meals. The two long pool sticks had broken tips. The air in the air hockey table didn’t work. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures when you looked up. Several light bulbs were burned out which caused frustration as the house is very dark even during daylight hours. She did instruct me that I could email her with all my concerns during my stay, but frankly, I was there for my family & I wasn't going to be emailing every day with concerns that should have been done prior to our arrival. The family room is a great gathering space but not enough comfortable seating for all of us to cuddle up for a movie. It was just okay, while we enjoyed each other’s company & had a good time away for our long holiday weekend, we would not return or recommend & wish she had more luxurious accommodations based on the pictures she shows. We rate this a 3-star but at a 5-star price, she can do better.

Perfect Sweet 16 getaway!!

It was perfect for my husband and I and a group of my daughter's friends to stay for the weekend for her sweet 16 birthday! We also had additional family members come up Saturday for a nice cook out and walk on the trails to the state park. Hot tub and fire pit nice. Only suggestion is more outdoor lights to see going to the fire pit. Otherwise fabulous place and weekend and the host was amazing! Even provided wine for us and a candy gift basket for my daughter with birthday balloons. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful house, 2nd time staying here. Very close to the ski slopes and wonderful PA countryside. Enjoyed all the amenities that this home has to offer. Birthday Weekend

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for a winter birthday celebration! The house had more than enough space to accommodate our large group of 10 people. It provided the perfect cozy vibes for a snowy weekend. It was the perfect location for the skiers and snowboarders of the group, as well as for the people that opted to journey into town instead.The snow was perfect for winter sports, but just be careful when driving!

We came up for a last minute trip to ski as a group of moms and kids. The proximity to hidden valley is great. The house is great for kids…the play closet upstairs was nice for the little ones, while the basement was good for the teens. Thank you Kim!

Awesome Place!

Unfortunately it rained all weekend so the skiing was not ideal, but Boulder Hollow made up for it! The house was even better than the photos. Clean and spacious, definitely enough room for 6 adults. Everything was perfect so we didn't need to contact the host during our stay but the communication beforehand was excellent. Kim sent lots of details on the property and even warned us about driveway conditions. We had an extra friend tag along for the trip and Kim had no issue with that and left out extra linens. We would definitely stay here again!

Memorable Weekend

We rented this home with our family for NYE and created beautiful memories together. Kim was very responsive when a minor issue occurred and went above and beyond to try and help. The home was very comfortable and hot tub was great. The 12:00 check out time was an extra bonus, as we didn't feel rushed.
