Meet Deb and Marty, your Hosts of Middle Mountain Cottage-

Deb is a retired Interior Designer and Accountant. Marty is a customer service rep/estimator for a Carbide Tool and Die Company.
We have been married for 43 years! We have a son who is married with 2 wonderful little boys. We also have a daughter who is married with 2 sweet little girls. We are known as Grammy and Pop Pop. We LOVE every minute of being grandparents!
How Middle Mountain Cottage came to be….. after living about an hour from here, we discussed moving up to the mountains to live close to at least one of our children. Marty was born and raised in the country and always had a desire to return to the country. In May of 2019, we happened to see a house for sale that we had admired for years when coming to the area to camp. The previous owner also owned the house next door (the only neighbors). So, we bought both houses. Our move here put us only 10 minutes from our daughter, son-in-law and our granddaughter.
Middle Mountain Cottage was a great candidate for a complete tear-down, but after tossing it around a lot; we decided it could be a great retirement project. The location makes it ideal for vacationers as we are minutes from ski resorts, state parks, and numerous other “must see” places.
Fortunately, we had a friend of about 40 years who is a contractor. We enlisted him and his sons and began the complete renovation. We totally gutted and replaced or re-built everything from the roof to the concrete floor in the basement! With all of us pitching in, it still took us almost 3 years to finish!
All of the hard work has truly paid-off. We are extremely proud of how it turned out and our guests all seem to really love it. The topper on this cake, is that we have already met such fabulous people and hope to meet many more!

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! Middle Mountain Cottage is located close to so many things outdoors!!! Hunting and hiking right through the backyard. Many fishing spots within minutes. Seven Springs is only a 15 minute drive and Hidden Valley resort is only 5 minutes away! Idlewild and other parks are located within a 30 minute drive. We are only about an hour from Pittsburgh, PA. There is an animal park a couple miles down the road and a go-cart, mini golf and batting cage spot about 3 miles away. State parks are within minutes for boating and fishing. Waterfalls and white-water rafting is also within minutes. While there are so many things to do near Middle Mountain Cottage, the house itself offers so much to do as well. There is a hot tub, a corn hole game, an electronic dartboard, a Foosball table, family games, and a huge fire pit for s'more making!
The words "I'm bored" will never be heard from anyone at Middle Mountain Cottage!
