Rivers Rest – Beautiful Riverfront Townhome in Downtown Helen

Finally, you have that time away, and you are looking to relax sitting on a porch listening to the river flow by and having a cup of coffee. Perhaps you are seeking the wonderful fresh smells of the mountains? Sit on the porch with friends and a glass of our local wine.

At River's Rest you have all the conveniences of home with plenty of living room seating, a gas log fireplace and a television on the mantel. The kitchen boasts of full size appliances, including a dishwasher. Choose the standard 12-cup drip or the Keurig one-cup coffee maker. There is a washer and dryer for convenience. The dining area has chairs for six guests with more seating on the porch at the pine table with benches. The rocking chairs, glider settee and tables are an Amish wood design. There is an electric grill, too!

The master bedroom features a king bed and a private bath with a walk-in shower and a jetted garden tub. The guest bedroom has a set of bunk beds with queen size mattresses on both top and bottom. The guest bathroom has a walk-in shower. With the sofa bed, this little gem will accommodate up to 8 people.

The upstairs porch has a hammock and two hanging egg swing chairs for relaxation.

A short walk puts you in the downtown area with many options for dining. The walk back to the property is a lovely path along the river. If you are planning all of these relaxing moments, then Rivers Rest is the place for you.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog. The pet fee that will be added to your reservation is $75 + tax. Only one dog weighing 70 lbs maximum is allowed.

• Parking: Space is available for 2 vehicles.
• Access: The roads are paved all the way to the property. The driveway is not suitable for low profile vehicles.

I feel like the listing didn’t even do it justice. Beautiful home. Excellent view of the River. Plenty of space to relax and unwind. Perfect for families with kids (our kids loved watching the wildlife out the back windows). Absolutely walkable to everything you could want to do in downtown Helen. The most understated fun of the trip was sitting on the porch and watching the tubers come down.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Gorgeous place. The stairs was rough. Driveway is steep. And not great access to river but we made it work. It was worth watching the grandkids enjoy everything especially spraying everyone with water toys as they were coming down the river.

The house was perfectly located to downtown Helen and right on the river. It was clean and had everything we needed. The host was very involved and made sure we were comfortable and offered suggestions if we needed them.

The wife and myself really enjoyed waking up and drinking our coffees in the hot tub over looking the river passing beneath. Home was spotless. Couches were so comfortable I’m guilty of falling asleep on them a few times. Super homey! I would like to warn about the driveway though. That sucker is steep so if you have a lowered or low riding car, be careful!

Great stay in Helen!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at River's Rest. With little to no free parking in the Helen City limits, it was great to be within walking distance! We all enjoyed the river, teens and adults included. Highly recommend!
