About this property
LARGE Upstairs 2 Bed 2 Bath condo Creek View!
Over 1000 SF! Sunny and bright two bedrooms, large bathroom, full kitchen, large living room, Creekside condo just blocks from downtown Salem. Wonderful view of historic Mill Creek and large balcony overlooking the creek. Reserved parking . Three blocks from Salem Center Mall, five blocks from State Capital and six from Willamette University. This is in an apartment building, it is on the second floor so you will have a neighbor below and to the side of you. You will hear other people which is part of life when sharing walls. If that is not something you want please look for a home that would better suit you. Thanks for understanding!
Well Behaved Pets ARE WELCOME with a $15 per pet cleaning fee (1 time not per night.) Please note that the manager does live on site and please arrange the Pet Fee Payment before your stay. Thank you!
This is a mid century modern building that was built in the 1964, it is VERY well maintained and well built with unique stone aggregate siding. It is not a new building but it is well built with large units and an amazing location right on the creek. All units have been updated, but please be aware of the age of the building as some people have commented it was older. It has a lot of character that you do not get in a modern building.
You are in the downtown area and though it is very safe (the new police station is being built only 4 blocks away), this is a metro area and there are two homeless support facilities in the downtown area so you will see the people they support. We have never had any issues or any of our guests, but it is a part of life in many cities and you should be aware of it, if this will be a concern for you we recommend you look for a property outside of the downtown area.
We have a SMART Roku TV and high speed internet. The TV has apps on it for all popular streaming services that you can use your account with (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, You Tube Premium) as well as many free apps for different types of TV. We try to keep costs down by cutting cable so normal broadcast TV is not available.
During the summer the unit has an AC installed. We take it out for fall and winter but there are box fans if you get too warm (unlikely in OR as it is usually VERY mild). The AC is in the main bedroom and it will cool the unit, please use the box fans to move the air through the unit. Most guests find this is sufficient, however if you require it to be constantly under 72 degrees we recommend looking for another property with central AC.
You are 6 blocks (10 minutes) from the state capital and if you go up 1 block (east) to Historic Cottage street you will walk buy many historic homes and then into the Capital gardens which is my favorite way to approach the capital building. You are 5-6 blocks from the Salem Center mall which is the northern end of the old downtown with lots of shops and restaurants. You can also walk a bit further west and go to the Park and carousel along the Willamette River, take the pedestrian bridge over to Minto Island park, or a favorite of mine is to take the old railroad trestle (NOW a pedestrian walkway) over the river to the park on the other side which is a short walk to a great Grocery store (Roth’s Fresh Market) with a awesome Deli and salad bar and KILLER local wine selection. Also in that shopping center is a Starbucks so it makes for a nice walk!

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Sherman
My husband and I are both originally from the area and returned after college. We have a young son and an older German Shepard. We no longer live in the area but own several properties there and have a WONDERFUL management and cleaning team!
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this property when we first saw it. It is such a unique setting of being right on historic Mill Creek. This immediate area is where Salem truly started and just down street is the site of the original settler Mill. his is a mid century modern building that was built in the 1964, it is VERY well maintained and well built with unique stone aggregate siding. It is not a new building but it is well built with large units and an amazing location right on the creek. All units have been updated, but please be aware of the age of the building as some people have commented it was older. It has a lot of character that you do not get in a modern building.
What makes this property unique
Location, just a few blocks from the Willamette University, the Oregon State Capital buildings, the Willamette River, Downtown Salem and about 1 mile from the Salem Hospital. Large units which all have a few of the creek!
