This was a family vacation with our two grown sons. Thank you for sharing your cottage!
The cottage was very clean, and the title “peaceful waterfront retreat” is apt. The lake is large enough to enjoy a lengthy paddle on the provided kayaks (always a bonus!) but small enough that there weren’t too many speedboats or jet skis to spoil the lazy days, especially during the week. The hammock got lots of use, reading and relaxing in the welcome shade.
Both Pentwater and Ludington are about a 25-minute drive, and it’s nice to have two options to explore.
When we did have questions, communication with Brooke was easy and prompt.
Overall we had a very good stay, but we felt a few small additions would take this from a 4+-star to a 5-star stay.
One helpful item that we’ve seen at almost all other rentals we’ve had is a binder/guest book with suggested things to do and places to go, restaurant recommendations, etc, often including maps and brochures.
A broom for the decks would be nice, to clean up the debris from the trees. A bedside table and lamp in the one upstairs bedroom. Some added supplies in the kitchen such as salt and pepper, and measuring spoons.
It would be helpful if the “to do list” before check-out was posted somewhere (maybe on the cottage rules posted on the refrigerator?) rather than texted the night before. We ended up leaving Fri night instead of Sat morning and were just about to lock up when we received them. A texted reminder is great though!
