About this property

Awesome Vacation Getaway in Columbine Lake!

We welcome you to our mountain house! Our extended family has had wonderful times here and we hope yours will, too. We are proud of the condition of our home and hope you will enjoy the moose theme. In fact we have seen real moose on more than half of our visits! It's the perfect place to enjoy nature without roughing it.

Moose Hus is fully furnished so you'll feel right at home. The large living room and dining area with cast-iron gas stove and cathedral ceiling is the place where everyone gathers for TV (streaming only-no cable), DVD, games, and conversation. The modern kitchen (renovated in 2019) is conveniently nearby.

In winter, enjoy snowmobiling (ride from the house to trails), cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and sledding. In summer, participate in hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, golfing and picnicking. You might even find it interesting to walk through the historic Grand Lake cemetery.

If you are planning to make a reservation, please include information about your group in the comments (this will save time in your booking process): how many single adults vs couples, how many children and their ages, and if you are coming to celebrate something special!

Columbine Lake is a private, covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake. Parking is not allowed on any Columbine Lake road or Community Property.

Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo or Columbine Lake.
In the summer, we have a strict 10 am checkout time, and 4pm check in time.

Great Place!

Everything was wonderful! It was a very snowy weekend, so we couldn’t park all our vehicles in the driveway until it was plowed. Julie was very responsive and able to get it taken care of. Thanks again!

Another Great Stay!

We love to stay in Julies house! Very nice place, all you need if you stay with small or big family. In past I stayed in five different places in Grand Lake, this one is always my favorite.

Family Gathering

This location was ideal for our extended family. The room layout allowed us to be together, but gave us the space we needed with a 5 month old. Every family group had their own bathroom and the living space was large enough for us all to be together.

National Park Trip

Perfect Place

Our family and I had a great time! The cabin was perfect, with a great location to get to and from Grand Lake. This was our second year spending time at Grand Lake and we absolutely love the area and plan to make it an annual summer adventure with our kids!

The cabin was just as described and worked perfect for our family. They had a very stocked kitchen with a great assortment of everything including cooking essentials, which was a welcome sight. Location is quiet and close to the park entrance.

Lovely Home

A perfect home for a family getaway! The location couldn’t be better. Just outside of Rocky Mountain national Park, and just a few minutes from the town of Grand Lake. The home was spacious and had everything we could possibly need including toys to keep the children occupied. Our host gave us loads of suggestions for activities to do in and around the grand Lake area. Our stay couldn’t have been better!

Great spot for vacation

We stayed here with another family, 8 children between the two of us. The house was clean and well-stocked with all sorts of activities to keep us entertained. Julie was responsive and helpful during our time there. I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful home on the border of RMNP

The Moose House was a very comfortable home close to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Grand Lake downtown. We appreciated how well stocked it was, and we enjoyed seeing a moose and a fox around the property.

We really liked the area. The closeness to the National Park was great.

We really loved the property. The house was very clean when we arrived. Julie was great with communication and kept us up to date with what was happening with the pandemic. We would definetly cone back to the rental when we come back to the area.

Nicest place on Columbine Lake

Place was amazing. Lay out of bedrooms where set up in order that if you need time to get away to rest from family noise you can go to your zone and enjoy it. Julie was very communicative and very helpful. Would recommend to everybody. See you next time

Mama and baby moose

Wonderful family vacation house! Very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. The house also has extra towels and other helpful items (like band aids). It was our first time seeing moose as we watched from the deck a Mama and baby moose eating grass across the street one morning (as close as the distance of a two lane road). We enjoyed the selection of games and videos provided. The host was very easy to communicate with and the furniture was very comfortable.

Amazing Cabin in the heart of moose country!

We had a wonderful time here at this beautiful cabin in a safe community. The cabin was very clean and well stocked in kitchen supplies and really anything you may need during your stay. If you are itching to see wildlife you are likely to see moose. We saw 3 walk right across the street as we sat on the front deck one night all within an hour. We were amazed! Julie was a fantastic host who was super responsive in the few times we reached out. Highly recommend this cabin and host!!!

Beautiful Home in a Quiet Location

This property was in excellent condition, clean and fully stocked for the needs we had while we stayed. It is a property located in a HOA area and is very quiet. It is close to Grand Lake and shops and to the National Park. The property is very clean and instructions for the property mechanicals and utilities. The owner communicated with us and was available to answer any questions immediately. The owner also informed us that we could have an earlier check in and later check out than was listed. Very accommodating to guests. If we were to travel in this area again, this would be the property we would look to rent first.
