About this property

Awesome Vacation Getaway in Columbine Lake!

We welcome you to our mountain house! Our extended family has had wonderful times here and we hope yours will, too. We are proud of the condition of our home and hope you will enjoy the moose theme. In fact we have seen real moose on more than half of our visits! It's the perfect place to enjoy nature without roughing it.

Moose Hus is fully furnished so you'll feel right at home. The large living room and dining area with cast-iron gas stove and cathedral ceiling is the place where everyone gathers for TV (streaming only-no cable), DVD, games, and conversation. The modern kitchen (renovated in 2019) is conveniently nearby.

In winter, enjoy snowmobiling (ride from the house to trails), cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and sledding. In summer, participate in hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, golfing and picnicking. You might even find it interesting to walk through the historic Grand Lake cemetery.

If you are planning to make a reservation, please include information about your group in the comments (this will save time in your booking process): how many single adults vs couples, how many children and their ages, and if you are coming to celebrate something special!

Columbine Lake is a private, covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake. Parking is not allowed on any Columbine Lake road or Community Property.

Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo or Columbine Lake.
In the summer, we have a strict 10 am checkout time, and 4pm check in time.

This cabin was the ideal home base for our annual golf trip. The location in Grand Lake is simply unbeatable - close to everything we needed while still offering the peace and tranquility we were looking for.

Perfect Place

Our family and I had a great time! The cabin was perfect, with a great location to get to and from Grand Lake. This was our second year spending time at Grand Lake and we absolutely love the area and plan to make it an annual summer adventure with our kids!

Fantastic!!

We stayed the end of June 2024. Had a wonderful time. House had everything we needed. Very clean and so much room. Saw a moose on property. Very quiet neighborhood. Julie the host was only a text away and always answered our questions. Thank you!

Mama and baby moose

Wonderful family vacation house! Very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. The house also has extra towels and other helpful items (like band aids). It was our first time seeing moose as we watched from the deck a Mama and baby moose eating grass across the street one morning (as close as the distance of a two lane road). We enjoyed the selection of games and videos provided. The host was very easy to communicate with and the furniture was very comfortable.

Amazing Cabin in the heart of moose country!

We had a wonderful time here at this beautiful cabin in a safe community. The cabin was very clean and well stocked in kitchen supplies and really anything you may need during your stay. If you are itching to see wildlife you are likely to see moose. We saw 3 walk right across the street as we sat on the front deck one night all within an hour. We were amazed! Julie was a fantastic host who was super responsive in the few times we reached out. Highly recommend this cabin and host!!!

Beautiful Home in a Quiet Location

This property was in excellent condition, clean and fully stocked for the needs we had while we stayed. It is a property located in a HOA area and is very quiet. It is close to Grand Lake and shops and to the National Park. The property is very clean and instructions for the property mechanicals and utilities. The owner communicated with us and was available to answer any questions immediately. The owner also informed us that we could have an earlier check in and later check out than was listed. Very accommodating to guests. If we were to travel in this area again, this would be the property we would look to rent first.

Fun place to stay

It fit all of our needs. Great games to play during rainstorms and at night. Side notes: Couldn’t get the fan upstairs to rotate forwards and blow down. It only went backwards. The room would benefit from having a chest of drawers or better places to put suitcases. One stand is not enough.

Great location VERY CLOSE to grand lake and an excellent host - very communicative before and during the stay. For the description about a well stocked kitchen I didn't bring anything but found myself wanting - no lids for skillets and one spatula in the whole place. Also the bunk room is too tight between the bunks to leave the ladder in place and be able to walk through. My kiddos were older so it was less of an issue than if they were younger. You have to take to trash to. Different facility 5 mins anway - not a big deal except that we were loaded to the gills with people and Luggage so it was cumbersome to get two trash bags to the facility on top of the rest of our stuff. Otherwise the home is just as described. We didn't get lucky enough to see a moose but we did have some chipmunk visitors which were a highlight in the mornings. Would rent again - would just bring my own cooking gear.

Great location witj Lots of beds with a great deck

Great Location next to RMNP. Have plenty of beds for a large family and a nice deck to watch the stars. The only issue we faced was the stairs from the garage to the main floor and the deck stairs at night. The garage stairs are tiny and the outside deck stairs can be dark at night. 3 out if the 6 of us had a fall. We aren't the most coordinated family so take that into consideration. We would definitely stay again and be more aware of stair safety.

The house was so spacious, just minutes away from RMNP and downtown which was perfect. The beds and couches were very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics, necessities and condiments! Coming from a house with central air, not having AC was a litte tough, but we got by. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Highly recommend for a family vacation to Grand Lake!

Perfect set up and great location

This house was perfect for our family of five plus my husband's aunt. We could have easily added 4 more people. The location is quiet and equally close RMNP entrance and Grand Lake. The host was always quick to respond to any questions prior to or during our stay. The home is well-furnished and the kitchen is well-equipped. We returned home midday one time and were elated to find deer in the driveway and grazing alongside the house. One negative point is that the stairs coming up from the garage to the main level are rather steep, but that only affected the individuals who stayed in the room at the lowest level. The property also has the strongest water pressure I think I've ever experienced. Beds and pillows were comfortable and fans were available if needed since there is no AC.

nothing fancy but just perfect

Great communication from host. Julie made the entire process seamless. property is what you see in the pictures, no surprises. it was perfect for our 2 families with 4 kids... we had a great time and the home is well equipped with everything you need to get your cooking and BBQing done. we're hoping to be back during summer sometime soon.

Lovely Home

A perfect home for a family getaway! The location couldn’t be better. Just outside of Rocky Mountain national Park, and just a few minutes from the town of Grand Lake. The home was spacious and had everything we could possibly need including toys to keep the children occupied. Our host gave us loads of suggestions for activities to do in and around the grand Lake area. Our stay couldn’t have been better!

Family Gathering

This location was ideal for our extended family. The room layout allowed us to be together, but gave us the space we needed with a 5 month old. Every family group had their own bathroom and the living space was large enough for us all to be together.
