Beautiful and private 1,800 square foot chalet on acres of property that backs up to county land with nature trails, wild life,streams and hiking. We are 5 minutes from Shanty Creek Resort Areas. This Property is part of the Chief Golf Course Resort. The Home is located within 10 minutes of the chain of lakes and the Jordan River.

Lake Michigan is located approximately 15-20 minutes away and within 30 minutes of the Mission Point Wineries. Downtown Bellaire, 5 minute drive from Shorts Brewery


Cabin is very private and is located at the very end of the Spring Ridge Condo Association Subdivision.

Beautiful chalet

We loved it here. It was tucked far back in the woods and so beautiful and peaceful. Within six minutes of the town of Bellaire, which has some great restaurants and shops. The best one of those is Short’s brewing Company. Within 30 to 40 minute drive of tons of amazing northern Michigan places and things. Close to many inland Lakes and only about 35 minutes from Lake Michigan. We use this house as our cozy little homebase. Loved everything about it.

Perfect stay

This property is AMAZING with stunning views. Gary was very responsive and helpful. Our daughter left her blanket there and he allowed us to go back to the house and grab it. The house has everything you need to have a great time! Highly recommend this house.

Clean, simple and great location

Had a few issues with the grills. We were there for 5 nights and the gas grill had a leak and the charcoal grill is on its last legs so BBQ was a challenge. Aside from that perfect for a family getaway. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had what we needed.

Peaceful and Serene

Spent a weekend here with a group of friends for our annual northern trip. The home was spacious and everyone had their own space. The home was pretty clean and there were plenty of supplies. We really enjoyed being in a secluded area that was very close to Shanty Creek. It was recommnended that you have all-wheel drive but if you're going in the winter, it should be changed to required. There are many steep, curvy hills to get to the home and we got stuck after it snowed the first night. There was one TV in the home that only had two channels and the stereo system didn't work which prevented us from watching movies. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

Spacious and Private

Nice place. Secluded in the back of a hilly, private (gated) area. Two bed rooms on the main floor, one with twin additional bunkbeds. Upstairs had a spacious bedroom with private bathroom and a great shower. There is an additional bed upstairs (open to the rest of the house) Plenty of clean sheets, towels, paper towel, toilet paper. All appliances and dishes (no keurig but there is a coffee maker. The deck had a nice view (could use some upgrading ). Basement has extra space with a few couches and a tv; a foosball table; no bedroom. Overall, happy with the stay. Have to travel for sight seeing and eating but there is a grocery store 5 mins away. Downtown Bellaire has a creamery, a few bars and shops, casual American dining. For more action, Traverse city is less than an hour. Nice scenic driving between towns.

For large parties, good for sleeping but not much else

The good: This chalet had plenty of comfortable sleeping space for everyone in our party of nine. It was cozy, had a beautiful view, and was in a great location close to Bellaire in a peaceful woodsy setting. The not-so-good: Even though this cabin's sleeping arrangements fit ten people comfortably, the rest of it did not. There were only four chairs around the dining room table, no bar stools, and not even a coffee table on which to eat. With only one sofa and one chair in the living room, there was not enough comfortable seating for our party. We were forced to find folding lawn chairs in the basement so that everyone would have a place to sit. The gas fireplace worked fine most of the time we were there, but it took a bit of ingenuity to get it to start when we first arrived and by the evening before we left, we couldn't get it going again. I understand that kitchen and other items often "walk away" from rental units, but someone should really see that the kitchen remains well-stocked with basic items, such as measuring spoons, at least two large-sized pots, more than two wine glasses, mixing bowls, strainer (which we had to purchase), and several more decent knives. Oh, and a hair dryer. And lastly, we were disappointed when we could not watch the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day because the Dish Network in the house didn't have the right channel showing the game. And my team was playing. Bummer! Finally, we were there to ski and were fortunate to receive about 16 inches of snow during our stay. While the small subdivision road was regularly plowed, the windy and hilly driveway was less-so. So, that made driving up and down the last stretch of driveway tricky even with a 4x4 with snow tires. I truly hate to write negative reviews, and if you have significantly fewer people in your party, then this chalet is a perfectly fine place to stay. For larger parties, I think most of these issues could be remedied to some degree by adding the right furniture, but it would still be close living quarters.

Great location. Easy to find house if you follow owners directions. Great house to come back to after a long day at torch lake. The only recommendation,would be to update deck.. It was safe but you could get wood splinter if you weren't wearing sandalssandalsolaBeautiful view!

This is an excellent property which exceeds the VRBO photos and description. We found it to be immaculate, well stocked, and specious with breathtaking views from the deck. The house is conveniently located, just a 20 minutendrive from the Torch Lake sandbar. Excellent!lake

Great Stay!

Loved the peaceful setting and views from the deck. It was an easy drive to lots of activities and cities. We thought the property was walkable to downtown Bellaire when we booked it so we were a little bummed when we realized it wasn’t, but we still loved it!
