we had a wonderful stay - beautiful views of the lake, great outdoor gathering spaces, enjoyed the dock and kayaks
plus the special story of the house is a bonus
thank you!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the house for our time at Flathead Lake. Quiet but with quick access to Lakeside for anything we needed, and a good home base for other activities in the area. We would definitely come stay again, and maybe plan to visit when it's better weather for swimming!
Wonderful property and setting! The kids had a blast swimming, kayaking, and fishing off the dock. Owner was super responsive and very friendly - even dropped off some fishing gear for us to use! We would definitely stay here again!
The property and owners were absolutely glorious. The property was clean and as described. The dock and kayaks made this property exceptional! We hope to return one day. Thank you Doug and Ashley for sharing your beautiful home.
Fantastic place everything about the place was top tier. Loved the dock great for swimming and floating. Recommend this place. You will not be disappointed. Owners checked if we needed anything.
Our Memorial Day trip to Flathead was excellent. Cool, rainy weather can be expected this time of year in this area, but it is easily overcome with a firepit with a beautiful lake view and a comfortable living room couch with a fireplace (also with a beautiful lake view). The property is truly "turn-key" with all of the amenities one could think of. The only critique I would have for the host is that the pictures in their listing don't nearly do the property justice. When we arrived, were blown away with both the views and the property itself. In fairness, the pictures I took during our trip don't do it justice either. The dock is perfect for accessing the lake to swim and use the canoe, kayaks and paddleboard that are available to use. We would absolutely stay at this property again.
If you want the greatest views, peace and tranquility, not seeing other neighbors out your windows, and value a host that is there 24/7 to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime…then this is your place.
The pics don’t do it justice. The house is up off the lake with nostalgic views from every porch. We had everything we needed and the private dock with kayaks and paddle board was icing on the cake.
To have such tranquility and serenity and still be a short drive from everything was incredible.
Watching the sunrise over the mountains and hearing the lake waves against the shore was worth every penny.
From fishing, swimming, boating, lake floats, fire side chats outside, deer everywhere, eagles, and rainbows this house has it all!
Ashley and Doug do a tremendous job being there for you every step of the way!
We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake. The home was well appointed with many amenities to make our stay very comfortable. It was also very clean and well maintained. Ashley was an amazing host who also helped us plan most of our excursions and gave us lots of recommendations for just about everything. She is super knowledgeable of the area which really helped us to maximize our time in Montana. She also left us a wonderful welcome basket with goodies from the area and s'mores for the fire pit which was a fabulous touch. I also cannot forget the Jiffy Pop which was a total hit especially for my husband and I who have not had this in 40 years or so. This house is perfect for a family who wants to enjoy some peaceful time together by the lake or by a fire pit and still is not too far away to enjoy Glacier National Park and many other wonders of the area. We also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board and loved floating in the lake. My boys fished off the dock and from the kayaks. You cannot hope for a better view. It was simply amazing. Any issues that occurred were handled were immediately and very well. This is a wonderful location and we hope to come back again soon.
We had a wonderful time staying at Ashley and Doug's home. They were incredible hosts! The house is lovely and clean, and many extra amenities were provided. The view of Flathead Lake is superb with an easy walk to the dock. Ashley and Doug are incredibly kind and generous people, with so much knowledge of the surrounding area and Glacier National Park. They provided us with many options for day trips, outings, grocery stores, and restaurants. I highly recommend staying at their Lakeside retreat. You will not be disappointmed!
This property exceeded all of our expectations! Ashley (the owner) went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The views were spectacular and the location was perfect. We loved kayaking and swimming in the mornings and chilling on the deck in the evenings. We rented a boat for a few days and also spent several days hiking and enjoying GNP. We will definitely be back in the future! Thanks for a wonderful stay and so many memories!!

Ashley Mason, Mountain Lake Retreat
Our group (two families with kids ages 7-14) had a wonderful vacation in Montana. Ashley was a fantastic host - extremely helpful in planning adventures and things to do, super responsive, went above and beyond to stock the house with everything we could possibly need…games, beach bags, beach towels, hiking poles, bear spray, coffee, pancake and s’more fixings, just to name a few. The Deck, stone grotto, and dock were stunning, could have spent the entire week just enjoying the lake with no day trips. House was very comfortable, spacious and well appoi for our two families. Highly recommend!
We’ve just returned from an amazing week at this wonderful home on Flathead Lake. The house has been in the family for years and has been lovingly taken care of. Read the Welcome Book for the history of the home. Ashley is a dream to work with. She responds quickly to questions after booking and has suggestions for any activities you might be interested in. She was readily available but not intrusive during our stay. Ashley and Doug have thought of everything a family needs for an excellent vacation. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals plus seasonings, popcorn with a popper and all the fixings for s’mores at the fire pit on the large deck. We had our 9 month old grandson with us and the house was outfitted for everything we needed-pack-n-play, highchair, bumbo, utensils, bibs and dishes. It’s 100 steps down to the dock where you have access to kayaks, a paddleboard and life vests. My husband even caught some trout in the lake! It was unseasonably hot when we were there and Ashley made sure we had enough fans to be comfortable. Our visit to Glacier National Park was a highlight of our trip and coming home to a house with a beautiful view of Flathead Lake made it even more special. The touches around the house from the beautiful flower pots, the lovely welcome basket with delicious goodies, lots of outdoor seating areas and the high quality shampoo, soap, and lotions in the bathrooms make this a special place to stay. I highly recommend it!
