We had such a wonderful stay here! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and immediately relaxed. Fran and Johnny were friendly hosts, and the welcome pack was a thoughtful extra. Communication was excellent throughout the trip. The gîte itself was beautiful and immaculately clean. The decor in each room was lovely, and it was well-equipped with everything you could need, making it a home away from home. The beds were also super comfy, which we loved. Location wise, it’s set in a quiet, rural area, but you are close to the local town with places to eat, and shops are about a 20-minute drive away. The pool was absolutely perfect and a great way to cool down in the heat! Between the peace and the pool, there was little need to do much else during our week here other than visit the local town and river beach. We fully recommend this gîte and really hope to return.

Fabulous gite in idyllic spot

from the moment we arrived we felt so welcome and the feeling grew as the stay progressed. Fran is a very friendly host and her husband John was just as welcoming. The gite and pool are in a beautiful, quiet, nature filled part of the Charente. The decor in each room is a clever mix of antique and modern. It is immaculately clean; generously equipped; a well insulated house. We enjoyed feeding their hens too!! We fully recommend this gite.

Beautiful gite with all the facilities you could think of. A lovely welcome package of bread, butter, jam, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, eggs and a bottle of sparkling wine. The hosts Fran and Johnny were on hand if needed and very friendly along with their lovely children. The gite was well decorated and very clean. The pool was extremely appreciated in temps of 42 degree.Could not fault anything. Would definitely recommend this holiday home to anyone. Local areas have lots to offer. We will definitely be going back

Loved this property and our holiday there. Fantastic gite out in the beautiful countryside with everything you need for your holiday - the open plan layout worked really well in the hot weather. Owners are next door and are super friendly and are ready to help if needed. We took our bikes so a short ride (also walkable) down to Laprade for the cool pizza restuarant/bar or a little further to Aubterre which has a beach by the river and the stunning village has plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants and little shops to keep us entertained. Didn't explore too much further but enjoyed a kayaking trip on the Dronne, Firday morning market in Riberac, Brocante market in Verteillac and ice creams in Brantome.

Ein tolles Haus auf einem großen Grundstück! Der kleine Pool hat uns viel Freude bereitet. Innen alles Top, zu Begrüßung standen ein paar Leckereien bereit. Parkplatz direkt auf dem Grundstück. Wir kamen an und waren begeistert: schöner als auf den Fotos. Ein Bad mit Fenster hat man nicht immer! Eine wirklich brauchbare Küche mit viel Kochplatz. Einzig das Silberbesteck ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, wir vermissten auch kleine Schüsselchen und brauchbare Salatschüsseln. Das hat den Gesamteindruck aber nicht getrügt. Wir können es wirklich sehr empfehlen

Séjour au calme

Très bon accueil de la part du propriétaire, le logement correspond parfaitement aux photos. Quelle plaisir d'arriver et de voir une corbeille de légumes du jardin et de viennoiseries sur la table. Malgré la barrière de la langue, à l'oral seulement, tout c'est très bien passé. Séjour en famille calme, reposante et ensoleillé dans la campagne Charentaise, non loin d'un village classé plus beau village de France.

Wonderful break away from everything

We had a great holiday at Laprade and our hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The kids loved the swimming pool and it was such a peaceful, relaxing space to be in. The local river beaches were a big hit with us too!

Great gite in idyllic countryside

This was our second visit. Its a fantastic gite in a relaxing countryside location. Everything is perfect in the gite. So clean and welcoming. Views of countryside amazing. Star gazing at night!! Great private pool. Towns and villages to visit nearby. We will definitely be back. Thanks Johnny and Fran for a great week.
